Hey bud, these videos youve been putting out recently have really inspired me to get back to wrenching on my old projects again. Thank you. Your style and the work you're doing is just incredible. I really do hope to be more like you one day, tearing down rebuilding engines, listening to dope tracks while sipping on brew, and making sick ass content as a result of it all. Keep it up man, this is beautiful.
Great video. Never use your torque wrench to perform the 90 degree torque to yield. Use a breaker bar or a ratchet. That will put your torque wrench out of spec.
think i just found my new favorite channel, I have a gs400 and ls400 i wanna work on in the future. All i can do for now is watch these well edited vids
I recommend trying the hammer type valve spring compressor/installer. Never done a 1uz so the bucket bores may be too small but I've used them on lots of other Toyotas, Nissans and Hondas.
pro tip to help get the valve stem seal out quick from an ex machine shop employee take a torch to the old seals for a few seconds and they come out really easy :)
congratz on running cars!! i'm rebuilding a integra gsr head but didn't take the valves out cause i'd have to re-surface the valve seats i feel like, but like i have the valve stem seals, and i wanna do em but don't wanna unsettle the carbon deposit shit.
at this point of disassembly, unless it's known that the rod and crank bearings and piston rings have been recently replaced, the cost of parts is minimal compared to the advantages of replacement.
Cool video and respect for doing it all yourself. My only question is: With low-mileage engines available to import from Japan, why go to all the trouble of rebuilding?
Who in the world rebuilds 1UZFE????????? First off, these motors last forever, second, they never break, 3rd, it's hard to find a competent shop that can actually do the job right. I give this guy a big pat on the back because this is something I would do . Cheers from a fellow 1UZFE (non VVTi) owner with 385,000 miles and still going strong. Edit: A project I would like to take on later is to turn my 91 LS400 daily driver into a project. This would include a full paint correction and engine rebuild. Maybe do something fun like add a turbo and keeps the silent exhaust. Turn it into a classic sleeper.
Hi there - inspiring for someone who needs to do his valve stem seals after his 1UZFE VVTi just clocked 500 000 kms. I was hoping you'd show how to time it all in but I'm sure that is somewhere out there on youtube. Out of curiosity, what was the cylinder head assembly error?
the intake manifold looks different than the one that regularly comes with 1UZ-FE, not sure if I'm correct. did you change it or it comes like that from the factory?
Yo I have what I think is a rear main seal would it be possible to remove trans without taking engine out or is that I pain in the ass I replaced a trans by myself on my 03 tundra similar setup to my 98 ls400 trying to track down this leak I replaced VC GASKKET and I know it’s not the cam seals it low on the passenger side gets on my cats looks like it coming from Main seal
Did you convert the head to shim under bucket? Or did it come like that? Because mine is shim under bucket. Really wondering how to do the conversion? Specifically how you did it. Thanks
Hai im rebuilding my engine and im looking for piston rings size 1.2 1.2 3.0 but only get 1.5 1. 5 3.0 can anyone please help me with the shops that has the 1.2 1.2 3.0 size
There was a pretty sweet 1uz hoonigan not too long ago. If you don't mind working on a small v8 I'd do it. I haven't had any additional head gasket issues on my 7mge but a rod is loose less than 10k after fixing that. I find all the stuff on top of the valve covers super annoying especially on the Cressidas version of the 7m.
"All 3 of my cars now run" LOL
Man has uploaded many enjoyable videos for men to watch of man assembling and disassembling things. Keep it up
“The pretty lady was able to polish and surface my head piece”🤣🤣🤣🤣 that shit made me giggle

'Polish my headpiece' 😂
"My dad actually taught me how to do this" 🤣
"The pretty lady was able to surface and polish my head piece" lmfao 🤣🤣
I’m so glad you’re back at it, love watching your vids, lexus content is a bonus!

Hope you got her number , you certainly have a lot in common 😁
Looking forward to the once a week vids. Always hoping for your uploads! Thanks for the vids :D

nice video man. 1UZ truly are like two 4AGE slapped together
Nice Job. I loved to hear that startup, misic to my ears!!
This the kind of content I’m here for.
more music lol
UZFE beats to relax and study by
I'm not sure which is more impressive, tearing into the internals of the 1UZ, or that you're drinking a Rainier Beer. Nice job. :)
Loving the Wiz mix.
The "boring stuff" you missed out was the part I wanted to see! 😭
Having a beer while watching, good stuff.
Yessssss, been waiting for this
just leaving a high quality comment on a high quality video lol awesome work!

Don't Rev it up after cold first start for engine could cuz some slight internal damage occur...massive job rebuilding V engine... Great job👏

Great job !
Wonderful video
Good job bro 💯💯💯
Nice work bro
Nice. Job well done.
Great video of building an engine. I was very entertained. (:
This was fascinating actually. Buying an SC400 with an old engine and probably gonna end up doing something similar
at this point of disassembly, unless it's known that the rod and crank bearings and piston rings have been recently replaced, the cost of parts is minimal compared to the advantages of replacement.
It’s already been stated but I’m Fucking Dead @ “the pretty lady polished my headpiece” Sheesh.....
That start up sound 😊😊😊
Good shit man
Can you please give your playlist, I thought you said you were going to in another video but I never found it
Cool video and respect for doing it all yourself. My only question is: With low-mileage engines available to import from Japan, why go to all the trouble of rebuilding?
That big gasket in the timing belt kit goes on a non vvt 1uz from what I saw you have that really big cam gear with vvt

What happened to your fx16? Love your corolla and ls400 but I was wondering if you sold the little guy.
i'm doing my timing belt and water pump in a couple weeks on my 1uz, can't wait to do it with the engine in the car lol.
I may have missed it, but I didn't see camshaft journal bearings go in?

Great engine :D I own one :) Greetings from Poland :)

Nice
Was this a rebuild kit? Or individually sourced? Cause I need to do the same to my 2nd gen
Wow I wish l had your skills bro!!!!!!
What was engine condition before rebuild and difficulty if engine removal?? Mines at 170k
Where did you get all the parts for the rebuild ?
please do you have all the part numbers you purchased ? I have one in Brazil just like yours. difficulties because it changes the engines.
How did you put the cams in
Polish my head piece
Where’d you get rebuild kit from???
What valve spring compressor is that?

song ?
Any tips on rebuilding this v8?
if you want to sell those extra exhaust manifold gaskets lmk, not sure if they are the same as a 1990
The purdy lady polished the head piece eh? ......always great to get polished at a machine shop....hot machinist?..
So what was the mistake you forgot the head gaskets ?? cheers from OZ.
Did you convert the head to shim under bucket? Or did it come like that? Because mine is shim under bucket. Really wondering how to do the conversion? Specifically how you did it. Thanks
you better hope its not the piston rings that were smoking lol!
What about the piston rings in the UZ? Could that cause your oil burning?
Listening to tigerbelly eh?
how much was it to get it resurfaced ?
How much to get you to do this to my 1995 ls400
This exquisite LsFohHunnit is for sale if anyone is after a backyardbuilt certified classic.
Yes imma thrash that shit
Can you disassemble and assemble a 2JZ? I need to see that. People would love that.
that's been done and seen literally 100994539903040599 times.
You from Washington??
Yeah👌👌👍👍👍⚡️⚡️⚡️
How much is 29fp on nm?
Hope the rings are algood and not also causing oil burning after all this work 😂
Was probably just a bad fuel pressure regulator causing the oil burning
please can you give me the documents about 1uz-fe engine
Yeah... you didn't lap the valves. Pretty sure your DAD told you to always do that. Times 32, chop-chop!
Looks like you need a new project.
why didnt ya lap the valves my guy?
I have rebuilt a lot of Lexus engines. I didn't lap the valves as long as the original valves and seats were used.
song at ~14 min is a bop, dj smokey vibes but i dont recognize it, you know the name>
pls halp
green piccolo - wake up
Hai im rebuilding my engine and im looking for piston rings size 1.2 1.2 3.0 but only get 1.5 1. 5 3.0 can anyone please help me with the shops that has the 1.2 1.2 3.0 size
I'd love to know what you know with 1UZ.
@ 10 seconds... that doesn't look like Tofu??
So wait you did all this and didnt change the piston rings 😩😞
It seemed like excessive amount of valve chatter
Piston heads lol . Their called piston crown . Too funny indeed
I got so hyped when I heard wiz khalifa over this dope beat.
Nice, my father have lexus ls400 1997 and now seal change #alisaggaf
Estos motores 1uzfe y 2uzfe no llevan lifter hidraulico
No, es toyota, los ingenieros de toyota si les pagan y simplifican sus diseños... solo es valvula, resorte y los bucket lifters...
@13:00 I used playback speed of 0.75 and the beat sounds chopped and screwed 😈👾
You remanned that engine to put it back into an LS or GS? It don't hardly seem right.
Should I 1UZ swap my Mk3 Supra?
That would be sicc💪🏽
Yes but its a tight fit. I say you should do a Honda K24 ;p

first!!
I wish Bobby Lee wasn’t such a gross person
That's the point
ツ the point of what?
@@peckerthemecher The point of him as an entertainer.
So what was the mistake you forgot the head gaskets ?? cheers from OZ.
