Ive always been so intimidated sewing pants especially with pockets but I followed your video step by step and I DID IT!!!! It turned out GREAT! THANK YOU SO MUCH! :)
I'm very tall and love this kind of pants, but I never find my size at stores. Summer is coming to my country, and now I'm so glad to learn this easy way of sewing several pairs. Thanks Jess!! You make it really easy.
your instructions are so clear and you make us understand what each measurement is for. i've always been scared of sewing pants or shorts but now i want to try again :)) thank you jess!
I can’t wait to make these!!! Love how your step by step instructions. 😍😍😍 Could you do a video in the future about how to take measurements to fit your body type? 💕
Thank you so much for your video. It’s easy to follow and suitable for beginners like me. And you gave us guidelines so we can adjust the size pattern according to our body type, way better than other pattern copy teaching video. I will follow your channel and learn form you.😄just a quick question that do I I need to add more centimeters for the back pattern because when you sit down usually need more fabric?
Hi, Jess! I made a pair of pants after watching your video but had problems when making the bottom of the pants. When I folded up to complete, the width didn't match 😅 I ignored it and just carried on.... Then bottom of 👖 had wrinkles and didn't look nice like yours.... What should I do?
Your vid is so easy for me as a beginner to understand. I have a question tho, how to decide the width of the regtangle for the crotch? Thank you forthe vid anyway.
Jess, I need directions how to make a nice dress a little bit more longer without looking too old fashion, I think with a corset but what do you think ? Thanks a lot for your beautiful channel.
I don't know what kind of dress you want to make longer here. But in my opinion, if you want it longer, you can use a belt as way to divide the your body and also make you look taller. Besides that, you can focus on the hand or or the neck of the dress with little details like ruffle to drive the attention to these parts
I'm confused by your math. When you're making the back, you say "go down 21 cm which is 3 cm bigger than the front", but your front crotch measurement was 28 cm." What am I misunderstanding?
Jess, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. Very much appreciated 🙏😘 These measurements…are they one size fits all? Would you please elaborate on this topic for me? Also, at what point do you curve the crotch? Thank you again!
The numbers are for my measurements. But I also added the way I got them. So you can adjust on your body size. And the curve of the crotch is the height of the pants you want.
hope someone can help with the waistband measurements. the length of the waistband is the total width of the front and back pattern pieces. And your front is 31cm and back is 34cm, how did you get to 98 cm? I totally understand these are Jess's measurements, just want to make sure i have the correct measurements!
This is an old question but I ended up working it out so I thought it might help others. From the original length of your rectangles at the waist you need to remove the centimeters you took away for the crotch (5 and 8) and also the 2cm for the seam allowance (don’t take away the 3cm for the pocket). Then you add 2cm of seem allowance for the waist band. So what she did is : 31-3-2 = 24 34-8-2 = 24 (you should have the same number front and back) 24x4 = 96 96+2 = 98 Hope this helps someone
I have never seen video simplified for all steps like this before. Thank you so much.

I'll make it soon
I'm confused by your math. When you're making the back, you say "go down 21 cm which is 3 cm bigger than the front", but your front crotch measurement was 28 cm." What am I misunderstanding?
Hey Jess... I'm xl pls tell how to measure...can you please make a tutorial separately❤️❤️
I'll try to make it soon
amazing tutorial, Jess! I have a question
the lenght of your waistband, 94cm is with seam allowance?
Yes, it's included the seam allowance already (2cm for seam allowance for 2 sides)
Hi Jess, Love your DIY. How do you calculate the length of elastic you need? Thank you
It's your waist size
@@JessDangDIY Thank you xxx
Hey! I didnt understand how you calculated The lenght of The waistband. Why is it 98? Could you please explain?
The length of the waistband has to be the same with the pants which is the total width of the front and the back pants)
Love these and got fabric and ready to go! Is that a 5/8 seam allowance or 3/8?
Sorry I don't know what you mean about 5/8 or 3/8
HI there, it is a 1/4 inch seam allowance as Jess butts it up against the side of the sewing machine foot. Hope this helps.
Jess, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. Very much appreciated 🙏😘

The numbers are for my measurements. But I also added the way I got them. So you can adjust on your body size. And the curve of the crotch is the height of the pants you want.
@@JessDangDIY Thanks! I need that understanding in order to do it right. Love your channel, design. 👍

And your front is 31cm and back is 34cm, how did you get to 98 cm? I totally understand these are Jess's measurements, just want to make sure i have the correct measurements!
To make sure you get the right one, you can measure the waistline of your pants before cutting the waistband.
This is an old question but I ended up working it out so I thought it might help others. 34-8-2 = 24 (you should have the same number front and back)
24x4 = 96
96+2 = 98
Hope this helps someone
Great😍 how can I adjust the measurements to my size?
You can check the way I did my measurement. I've tried to explain it in each step
👏👏👏👏👏👏👍
I have tried these and it was my first sewing (clothes) project ever. I loved how you clearly described it. Thanks for DIY
Ah, I see your problem. For the back, the curved line at the crotch should be deeper to give more space for the butt
I’m way bigger than you. Can I use your method to calculate my size(XL) or are there other adjustments that would be necessary ?
You can check the way I got my measurements to apply for your body size
@@JessDangDIY pls tell how to measure body size as I have no idea about stitching..
Please Jess make A blazer 😘❤️
I'll try it soon
@@JessDangDIY thanks a lot ❤️❤️
