I'm so happy to share the same sentiment as a person who's studied at the collegiate level when it comes to nervousness before tackling the fly. I have over 30 years of experience and a few college courses...but still...whoosa... the fly.

Thank you so much! The i heard the inward fold helps not add the look of volume to your abdomen. The opposite way can add volume there. :)

Would you recommend to draft a straight waistband in case I want to make this very high waisted? I'm not sure because despite the high waist there is a very big difference between my waist and hips
The straight wast band will just be a rectangle that is the length of your waist plus the fly extension width on one side :)

Any idea if there is a guide to what type of seam finish to use if you are hand sewing? I've done French seams and flat felled seams before, but I struggle with them in pocket areas, and I'm thinking those might be problematic in the fly area as well.
You could try binding :)
For dinner. Do you recommend to wear wide leg pants together with blouse with cuffs? Or should i wear skinny jeans?

Thank you kindly. I am not sure what you mean about using the foot pedal. You just press down on it and if it is scary to use just keep sewing some scrap fabric until you get used to it :) every machine has its quirks. I have worked on quite a few and it just requires getting used to 🙂
