Welcome or welcome back to my channel. My name is Jess and I love doing DIY, making clothes in a "simply but pretty" way.
In today's video, I'm going to share with you how I made my High waisted wide leg pants from scratch. This is the perfect pants that could help you look taller. It's very easy to mix with a crop top and suitable for all occassions.
To make DIY, please check out my basic information below:
- Sewing machine: Merrit Joyful Sewing
- Material: 2.5m of khaki silk fabric
- My body measurements: 82-64-92cm. I'm 65cm and usually wear Small size
I'm not a tailor and never attended to any fashion school before. So when it come to sewing, I usually try to find the most simple way to make it. And I just want to share with you what I found. So you can try to make it for yourself.

As a beginner sewist who still haven't invested on a set of curved rulers, I cant express how thankful I am that you used a straight ruler to draft the whole thing T_T

This is realllly great I love your vids the most cause our measurements are luckily almost the same and tutorials doesn’t require an overlocker, you also explain the pattern making process instead of saying “copy the pattern of the pants that you like”, REAAALLLYY appreciate this channel a lot THANK YOUU

I have been watching your UA-cam channel for years now and I can’t tell you how thankful i have been for your pattern making tutorials included with the video tutorials. Especially for people just starting out in their sewing journey, it is really expensive and payed patterns can add to that burden too.

I completed them yesterday and forgot to say how it went😂. It took me a total of 6 hours to finish. I took my time and focused. The pants turned out so perfect I’m itching to make another pair today, hahaha! They’re so flattering and elegant, I’ve never had a pair of pants fit me this way. I would suggest for first time sewists try it on an old bedsheet or muslin just in case!

Really love these pants, they look so flattering!
But one question: How have you finished the ends of the waistband? In the shot with the beltloops they are still unfinished, in the next one they are suddenly made perfect. How does it work to make them look so seamlessly?
Ah, to finish it, you can make a seam inside right at the end of the waistband. Then upside it to hide the seam inside
I don't understand how you finish the belt. Do you sew it to the zipper ? How do you close your pants? With buttons?

Very good job! Beautiful material. Love your video from start to end. For beginners I would like to point out that the opening of ladies' pants zipper is usually on the other side; for ladies it should open on the left side and for men it opens on the right. Keep up the good work.

As a beginner, I would recommend you to try to basic and simple projects before going to this one. Because it's a little advance for beginner.
