I’ve been sewing for over 14 years but JUST now I’m starting to learn more about what actually suits my body and my colouring. I’ve recently learned about kibbe, so, new patterns are needed. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate that you’ve got digital patterns I can buy and download, PLUS you make such nice videos to accompany them 👏🏻👏🏻❤️ thank you so much! 😁
I made these trousers the other day, and well they were really big and baggy even when I chose the right size. However, after a good bit of research on patterns and learning how to alter patterns properly to fit me , I think i got the right measurments! I will be trying to sew the pants again soon, and will take my failure as a learning oppurtunity. I now know that patterns are just a base, and aren't necessarily gonna fit perfectlly on your body! You've gotta make adjustments:) I will update this, once I've remade the pants!
Those look amazing! I'm so tempted to buy the pattern, but I'm super inexperienced with sewing. Only ever sewed 2 things with a sewing machine before. I hope one day I get to the level where I could make these, but my sewing machine is old and needs repairs, so getting started is kinda hard 😭
THIS was the exact tutorial I need to finally understand VISUALLY how to add a waistband with a zipper. I simply could not figure it out prior to this.
I absolutely love this! I`m quite new to sewing, but your video is so good it makes me belive i could make this by following you. Can`t wait to get you`re pattern and find a nice fabric! (Your video is so good even my boyfriend who is not sewing found it interesting!) Love form Norway 🤩
I really like all your patterns and their finishes. Would you plz make a video on the shirt that you are wearing in the video, that looks so cool on you!!!
Hi Karolina, this pattern looks fabulous! I'm fairly inexperienced with sewing, but this video is so helpful I'd like to give them a shot. Would you consider releasing it in smaller sizes?
Hi ! Thanks for the tutorial, it makes it easier to follow the instructions! Quick question, I see that you make the darts and the pleats once the front and back legs panels are sewed together. Would it make a big difference to make them before? It seems easier to manipulate each panel individually. Thanks !
Hi Karolina, just bought the pattern and can't wait to get started 😁. For sizing my hips and waist are a few dress sizes apart (i.e one is a size 6 the other a size 12), what would you recommend for sizing?
I would suggest checking out this tutorial I've made on how to adjust the trousers to your size. Hope it helps! tintofmintpatterns.com/how-to-adjust-a-trouser-pattern/ :)
Hi there! Really loving your video - finding it easy to follow. Except for Minute 8:30 where you are talking about back panels. On your video I'm really unsure as to where you are making the back panel and what part of the material you are using. Would you be able to explain a bit further?
Hi, I pinned the waistband to the front of the trousers, sides and thin waistband CB to CB of the trousers. When you pin down the waistband you'll see that you have extra fabric on the back left and right side. I've made darts on both back trouser panels using that extra amount of fabric, so once the darts are made the trousers back matches the waistband perfectly. Hope it makes sense xx
I just simply lay out pattern pieces on the fabric and cut them out. Here is the link to the pattern I'm using 😉 www.etsy.com/uk/listing/811028827/ines-high-waisted-trousers-digital
You would have to adjust the trouser pattern in that case to remove the excess fabric from pleats and darts. It's possible, but those small details make those trousers fit better. Hope that helps 🤗
hello! I bought the pattern and I have finished 2 pairs of pants following the instructions step by step, but the crotch area is always baggy, do you have any suggestion to give a solution to this problem?
Hi, the trousers are not tailored fit, but if you want them to be you would have to take an inch or so from the side seams thought whole back and front panel piece and if the trousers are too baggy for you in the crotch you would have to make a front rise with a deeper curve. So when you have the front trousers piece take a pencil and draw a curve line using hand motion to scoop out the crotch curve more. Hope it makes sense 😊
I needed to ask what type of sewing machine you use because I'm trying to get a better one and the patterns of the machine in the video had everything I needed.
Hello. I dont know if you'll reply or not, but what machine do you use? For stitching and overlock. I would like to know the brand and model name. And where did you buy them from? Thanks 😊
Hi Karolina, I have been searching for this type of trouser pattern for years now. I’m so thrilled to find your video and Etsy shop! The only problem is that the sizing starts at 26inch waist and I have a 23inch waist. Will you be grading your patterns to include other sizes?
Hi, I was thinking that might be the case so I've created a tutorial on how to adjust the trousers to your own measurements :) You can check it out here! tintofmint.com/how-to-adjust-a-trouser-pattern/
Hi, I wanted to buy the pattern but seems my measurements are off so I don’t know which size to go with. My waist is 29.9” and my hips are 42” How can I adjust size according to my size?
Look for videos about size or pattern grading! Your measurements are close to mine. I tend to grade as I sew, but you can also do so on the paper pattern before you cut.
Pin waistband sides to the trouser sides, pin waistband CB to the trouser CB and from excess fabric you have left make two darts on the left and right back side so then the trouser waist length matches the waistband. Hope that makes sense! 🤗
@@tintofmint Even though I'm on a diet and coming down My high waist tea pot as I call it is 104 cm or 41"" with waist at belly button 111cm so I guess I can not make these until I come down more So so sad
The patter goes up to size UK 16 but there is no reason why you can't make the bigger sizes. Just simply add a few cm to the sides of the front and back of panels. To work out your waistband panels measurements simply follow this guide I've made tintofmint.com/how-to-adjust-a-trouser-pattern/ Hope that helps :)
Hiya, just double-checking whether you are meant to pin the waistband right side to the trousers' wrong side, as shown here? The pattern tutorial says to attach the waistband wrong side to wrong side. I'm up to this part with my trousers and I'm a bit confused :/
Hi there, the waistband should be sewn as shown in the video. So to the wrong side of the trousers, the right side of the waistband to finish the waistband on the right side of the trousers with the right side of the waistband. Thank you for letting me know, I'll double-check that :)
I could be enough but it depends which size are you making. If it's anything from UK 6-10 I think you would be able to place all leg pieces in one line and then it should be enough ☺️
