    I think it's funny how you would never see this many negative comments on makeup/beauty videos but when someone texturizes/relaxes their hair there are no other comments but negative ones. Sounds like y'all have some underlying personal insecurities about your own hair because there is no reason everyone should care THIS much. If you for some reason have hate towards people that chemically alter their hair, then stay away from these videos. It's simple.

    Y’all peeped how she didn’t use the rat tail comb and comb the relaxed hair?
    That’s the trick about texlaxing. Do not comb it out... it will ruin your curl patter.
    This was an excellent tutorial.

    • @user-zx5xw4yw2e

      Actually u are SUPPOSE to gently comb it with a wide toothed comb to loosen the tight coils. That's the proper way.

    Why do people act like getting your hair relaxed is like getting new hair implanted into your hair it's still the same hair that person grew just in a different texture

      NiTEVibe98 Because thats not the natural state of the hair that you grew out of your head. Saying that their hair isnt natural doesnt mean its fake. It just means that its not in its natural state, because its been chemically altered.

    • @bluebird1694
      @bluebird1694 6 років тому +60

      Jhopes ARMY shampoo chemically alters your hair as well. If you use it without conditioner it can cause dryness and breakage. Who really cares about texture? If she wants less single strand knots and shrinkage then that's ok.

    • @dawnrosewood7060
      @dawnrosewood7060 6 років тому +22

      Teu Chnar I never said it was wrong, and me washing the dirt out of my hair and scalp isn't chemically altering it... It's washing it, just like how we have to brush our teeth to keep them clean and the same with the rest of our bodies. Changing the complete structure of your hair, isn't natural. It didn't grow out your hair like that. Why are people trying to make it a insult and get so defensive over this?

    Not sure why natural haired people are so angry, condescending, and judgmental when someone chooses to do something different with their hair. It's ok for me to wear a wig or weave, masked as "protective styling", but God forbid I CHOOSE to relax my hair. Hypocrite much?

    • @bluebird1694

    The disunity in the comments is ridiculous. Yes she can do whatever she wants with her hair but I find that too many of my sistas are getting frustrated and impatient with their hair. They look at these UA-camrs and see the products they use and think it's going work for them and it's not. Educate yourself and you can do so much with natural. Do a undercut, shaved sides, pixi, heart shape, natural hair clip ins, color, etc.... let's learn how to encourage and uplift each other rather than argue if she's natural or not.

    I’m finding that people obsessed with who is natural and who isn’t somehow are using their hair state as a self esteem boost. I hope your hair isn’t all you have going for yourself. Not once do I find myself giving a damn about what another woman does to her hair. Not once! Your hair clearly does nothing for your self esteem. It also does nothing for your character and treatment towards others. Black women cant catch a break because many of us still have a competitive hateful mentality that needs to be corrected.

I've went natural 6 times, 6! always go back to the texturizer. its good for lazy people like myself. and I know its odd but I actually experience way less damage, breakage, and single strand knots with texturized hair. its just more manageable over all. no regrets except going natural.. my hair would've been way longer by now if I didn't waste so much time lol

    Not knocking what's for you, but if we had a bit more patience for our length to grow in, we would see that our natural hair is so amazingly beautiful and dope because of its texture. I must admit when mine was shorter I wanted to relax it so many times but be patient and I promise you will not regret it! Gotta get past the first two years of TWA stage! It's super hard but worth it! Just keep healthy hair practices until it gets some hang time. Please my beautiful sistas!

I'm currently natural with a big fluffy beautiful 4c fro. But is relaxed hair easier to manage and does my hair grow faster with it? Absolutely. Lmao maybe your body just couldn't take the relaxer.

    I did so many rewashes myself with a lye relaxer I used in less time. I even used bentonite clay. It truly does get it all out though doesn't change the fact that my hair is chemically altered. But I'm brave enough to do it again when I touch up the roots, and next time I'm going to use green tea powder to clean it out of my hair.

    I would have applied the relaxer to the parts of my hair ik are thicker and tighter, me personally I have a type 4b in the crown of my head, 4a around the sides and 3c at the nape of my neck, I would apply the relaxer in that order of right to loose curls, then i end it with doing my edges, that’ll give me a more even finish and keep my hair still looking somewhat natural

    As Black women, we're the mass consumers of hair relaxers, especially with at-home no-lye hair kits. I just wish we could develop a 100% natural hair relaxer that doesn't have the long term health effects as traditional relaxers. We should have the freedom to do what we want with our hair. The issue is having the freedom to do what we want with our hair safely.

  • @akiadavis7684

    I understand that it’s to each it’s own but maintenance is maintenance. If you want long, healthy hair, you have to put the work in regardless if you’re natural or “texlaxed” or relaxed. 3c or 4c , you’re still going to have to sit there and detangle, shampoo, condition, deep condition, etc. Loosening up your texture saves you like 15 minutes I guess but there’s no shortcuts so it’s so crazy how people keep trying to find them.

    • @user-zx5xw4yw2e
      @user-zx5xw4yw2e 6 років тому +5

      U just said it... It saves them time ( Maybe 15 min.. Maybe 30 depends on the head of hair)-- So That IS the shortcut lol. So their goal is met: less time and easier to get thru.

    Ladies. If you want to relax, relax. Just know what you call kiddie perms like Just for Me relaxers are just adult relaxers marketed towards kids. There is no difference in the chemicals or the strength between that and Regular Adult relaxer. Also a helpful tip. When you relax or "texlax" you need to apply the product and stretch your hair not just apply the product.

    The back (nape) is much straighter than the rest, stretched out ...the nape or neck area tends to be looser compared to the rest of your hair, including the (crown) and (hair line) areas, so next time apply to those areas last because it takes less time for them to loosen up

      @PieceofKV  9 років тому +8

      MizzLaydee21 Well it wasn't intentionally in my plan to be natural.. I'm not a big fan of the maintenance especially since I change my hair so much. Just makes my life easier (: this relaxer just helps to soften a bit more than it would straighten. I'm still considering going back fully relaxed, keep watching ^_^

      I did the same after 2 years of transitioning and I chopped off my relaxed ends. I decided this year to go back to relaxers, I love the thickness but being natural is a lot of maintenence. Sometimes I just want to get up and go, there were times when I had a certain style in my hair and thanks to the humidity my fro would appear. .. lol

    Hello, I want to texlax my hair. I watched some professional videos on how to relax your hair. They all say to do the scalp last because it processes faster because of the heat from your head. How fast did it work on your roots? I’m still trying to keep my curls.

    Henna treatment stretches the curls and improve the strenght of the hair. It contains no chemicals and you can do it as often as you want. I personnaly mix mine with olive, avocado and castor oil. You hair looks great but I think it's may be extreme for the results you want to achieve. Natural products can actually give you results like that.

      You can texlax with a relaxer. If you compare the ingredients of a relaxer and teturizers they are most nearly exactly the same. Don't let the marketing of these companies fool you. they're exactly the same. Youll get the same results with a relaxer and a texturizer if you leave them both on for a short time.

    • @onepunch2310
      @onepunch2310 7 років тому +3

      Jessie Gillom a perm usually means to make it straighter for the term my family use and a texturizer would be to stop frizz and girl looser curls. I wanted a curly perm that already looked like my 3b hair because it thought it would make it thinner and less frizzy but my mom refuses to let me do anything to my hair other than let it grow or flat iron it (she mostly wants me to flat iron it) 😕
