Oh my, this is great! Never mind the effect, with a bit of tweaking anyone would understand what it does. But the 'Copy with Property Links'?! There's been countless times of me parenting properties from one effect to another. I've searched for a way to do this before and never found one (maybe I wasn't googling it right). Anyway, time (and sanity) saver tip right there. Thanks so much!
"roads...where we are going we don't need roads." LOL this is perfect to making some back to the future fan art :p Thanks for all your hard work with the effect tutorials Jake!! Huge respect!!
Thanks Jake for the detailed information! I'm so excited about lightning effects, I've tried this effect before, but now it's great to understand the control of each property. LIKE
When I precompose my lightning layers, the precomp keeps the name of the layer I precomposed from [Mac, Ae 22.1.1]. So a typical effect expression in the precomp reads ‘comp(“Original Layer Name”).layer(“Lightning”).effect(“Advanced Lightning”)(3)’ instead of ‘comp(“PreCompName”).layer(“Lightning”).effect(“Advanced Lightning”)(3)’. Is there a higher-up Ae setting that controls how Ae renames those properties during the pre-comping process?
Bro you are in fire i have 40 tutorials from you to check haha
Don't we all?

What great ‘forking’ tutorial.
Advanced Lightning vs Saber plug-in?
That's not even a comparison worth making really. Saber is so much more advanced.
Naice man
Wow
This sounds like a class at Hogwarts
So, technically you could use this to make a cracking effect on something? 🤔
Definitely.
You will pay the price for your lack of vision
There's too many setting in After Effects. and there's too many options in life.

I auto traced and applied saber effect to the lightning mask ⚡️ Any way to get rid of the flickering? 🥲
