Another great video, Johan! I love how you keep it so nice for them. Usually people who have snakes in those containers, they keep them empty and boring. You're so caring, love it!
Thank you so much! :) I'm not a big fan of bins, so I'm trying to make it looks as nice as possible.... lol
Dude you're killing it with the videos!
haha! Yea it's a lot of fun to post videos and interact with people all over the world! :)
very cool i like the close up footage of the snake swallowing its food
I'm glad you liked it, I will keep that in mind for when i film in the future! :)
I just got mine yesterday evening so today is my first full day with them. They are less shy than I was expecting, as soon as the lighting came on this morning they were out exploring and have been basking for the whole afternoon. I'd love to see the footage of the viv you have built, I'm in the middle of building the adult viv for mine.
That's awesome. what type of garter is it? It's a very cool snake, they are usually out and about and exploring! :)
I just finished a video of me building the terrarium, but I actually moved my tortoise into it. I was tired of having a empty tank. And when the tortoise needs an upgrade the snakes can move in there! :)
@@JohanExoticGlobal I've got two male lake chapala, absolutely gorgeous snakes. I can't wait to get them into their adult Viv and see what they do with the extra space.
Thank you for the great video!😃
I'm glad you liked it! :)
Fantastic video bro
I'm glad you like it, thank you! :)
I like how you care about them
I'm glad you like it! :)
i simply put my garters and my hognose in a nice bathe while I clean their enclosure.
They get to swim, get clean and hydrated and actually seem to enjoy it.
Garters are great pets. They have very funny personalities
I had a really bad experience with bathing my garters. I almost lost my female. Ever since I never bath them and provide them a big bowl for bathing inside the enclosure. That way they can decide themself when they want to bath. This as worked for me. But I have also heard many people being succéfull with bathing their garters! :)
Tipp: Do the fish in warm water for 30 seconds and they should be more interested
Why haven't I been thinking about this before. This is a amazing tip!! I will try this in the future for sure! Thank you!
Great video.
Thank you!
Tjenare Johan! Vad för fisk matar du dom med? Har precis skaffat 3 av dessa 😃
Commenting on every video you upload// day 1
Thank you for your support!! :)
I’m definitely getting more snakes this Year! More Royals! I’m sure eventually I’ll get me some Garters and other colubrids! I’ll refer to your channel when I do! 🤙🏼🐍❣️
That's awesome! You really should! It's a very active and fun snake :)
Hey Johan I have a question can garter snakes eat raw chicken I’d like to mix up the things I’m feeding my garters
hm... Good question. I'm not really sure honestly. I have personally never heard people feeding them raw chicken. I feed mine chicken hearts, but that's about it
Great video! I love garters
Thank you Toby, garters are amazing!
@@JohanExoticGlobal
Sure are! Will be getting some soon for sure. They are just quite hard to find in Scotland. I’m still searching
@@TobysExotics you definitely should! I didn't know that.. That sucks. Apparently they where everywhere in Sweden before (breeders and stores). But now it's quite rare here too.. So I guess that make sense. I hope you find some!
@@JohanExoticGlobal Thank you! It kind of went in Scotland over the past sort of 15 years, First they were everywhere next they were rare and super expensive and now they are super cheap but still rare. I am certain that give it 5 years or so and garters will be really popular and expensive. I think they will be the next Mexican black king snake of the reptile world. One day really cheap and everywhere, the next you can’t find them and their price has been multiplied by 10 😂
@@TobysExotics lool! Yea, I really hope they will grow in popularity. They are really awesome snakes so that wouldn't surprise me!
Soooooo late to the party but what are the dimensions of that tub? Looks like the perfect size.
We call those fish perch.
Fabulous video. You look after them very well 👍🏻 . Mines loved haddock. I found the vitamin powder stuck better to haddock then to other fish types.
ohh! Great tip!! thank you! I will have to look up if I can find any in the store. i didn't see any on the website. Would love to try some new fish! :)
@@JohanExoticGlobal & the supplement also sticks well to salmon 😊
@@mypetsandme9473 I never fed mine salmon. I heard that salmon could possible be bad. Did you feed it often? I'm guessing it fine to give every now and then since it worked for you! :)
@@JohanExoticGlobal Now and then I gave it as much variety as possible…. As far as I know .Salmon is ok as it don’t contain thiaminase 😊
@@mypetsandme9473 I see! I will have to try it some time!! :)
Not sure if you can get this where you live but as an alternative to zoo med wipe out, I use clorahexidine, it's a concentrated veterinarian disinfectant that is safe for reptiles- I still rinse it but maybe you can get it on amazon?
It's a fraction of the price and goes a very long way because you dilute it with water.
Really enjoying your videos!
That sounds cool. I'm just very happy with the spray I have. It seems to do a pretty good job! Thank you for the tip tho!! :)
And that makes me happy! Thank you for watching!! :)
How much would u recommend pay for trio sanfransico garters 1 year old dont want be ripped off ?
There 2 girls 1 boy how old are yours in video ?
@@adoresgranite4083 I think it depends where you're located. I don't know how rare they are where you live, because that can raise or lower the price. I think a pair here are around €300. And the breeder I bought mine from also sells them separate for €180. Mine are closing up on 1 year since I got them, and they where a few weeks old when I got them. I hope this help you to answer your question! :)
Show the build video please,
love watching builds to inspire my terrerium
Awesome! I defiantly will! I didn't have much footage unfortunately, but I do have some pictures that show the whole process! :)
Super informative videos, thank you so much! I was thinking about getting some garters in the future, I live in Finland, could I ask if you have any breeder recommendations?
I'm glad you liked it, and that's awesome you might get your own garters! :)
I do not have any breeding tips, at least not yet. But once these are old enough I plan to breed them. And then I will defiantly have information to share! :)
@@JohanExoticGlobal Ah sorry, I didn't phrase it well! I meant breeders to buy them from, I haven't found any in Finland! Looking forward to your breeding project, your animals are really well taken care of. Love that their enclosures are very well enriched!
@@AAA-rd1um ahh! Sorry for misunderstanding you! Send me a DM to my instagram or facebook and I will send you a link to the website. The breeder actually had some for sale a few days ago
@@JohanExoticGlobal Thank you so much! Just sent you a message on instagram
@@AAA-rd1um perfect! :)
Normally, I find snake bins a bit bleak compared to "proper" terraria (not that the animal itself cares, as long as its needs are covered).
But yours looks nice!
Does your wet hide have a transparent lid? I guess they dig into the moss anyway...
I'm curious about their next home, when they leave the temporary enclosure...
Yea, I'm not a big bin fan myself.. I prefer terrariums, I didn't have a better idea for these escape artists tho..😅 I'm glad you think it looks nice, thank you!
Yes, it transparent. Should it be dark?
Their next home has been empty for almost a year, so i decided to set the tortoise up in that terrerium. I just finished editing that video, so that should come up... soon! I'm really happy how it turned out :)
@@JohanExoticGlobal I just thought that hides might be more cozy, if they were dark.
But, come to think of it, the moist hide of my cornsnakes back in the day was the opposite, opaque lid and translucent box. But they were fine with it and even laid eggs there.
@@PeppersnGlowworms ahh! I see what you mean. That's not a bad idea..
That's really cool about your cornsnake. You currently don't have any snakes?
@@JohanExoticGlobalNo, they passed away a few years ago. I got them as hatchlings in 1998 and 2001. They were a pair, but I think the male was infertile.
Aside from ricefishes (and a dog) I do not keep vertebrates anymore.
@@PeppersnGlowworms I see! That's pretty cool! I bet your schedule to full with peppers and you glowworms to have any vertebrates! :)
Hey, I love your garter snakes. I have an empty 40 gallon tank and want to get some. Do u have any recmendations on where I should get them from
Thank you so much! That's awesome man, garter snakes are amazing snakes! The only recommendations I can give you are unfortunately located in Sweden. Don't really know alot about breeders based in other countries. Where are you located?
@@JohanExoticGlobal sadly i am located in the U.S, I was thinking about putting 4 in a 40 gallon and I was wondering if that would work.
@@kg_aquatics_j1863 The only breeders I know in the US is Brian Barczyk and Snake discovery.
I'm sure that would be enough. In Sweden it wouldn't be illegal. They would need 0,61m2 as adults, the 40 gallon is about 0,41 m2. I know you have different rules in US, if any? So you should be fine!
Also be careful if you get them as babies, these guys are escape artists!! lol
@@JohanExoticGlobal yes thats what I've heard but I am planning g to breed them so I want to get them as adults or semi adults
@@kg_aquatics_j1863 okay! That's awesome man!! Good luck with the breeding project! 👍
I HAVE SUBSCRIBED YOUR CHANNEL BRO....
