- This is just a fan made intro to the Star Trek Voyager series that is post the novel unworthy.
Character manes and positions:
Captain Chakotay - Captain of starship Voyager
Captain Afsarah Eden - Fleet Commander
Lt. Commander Tom Paris - Voyager's First Officer
Lt. Commander B'Elanna Torres - Fleet Chief Engineer
Lt. Nancy Conlon - Voyager's Chief Engineer
Lt. Reg Barcley - Holographic specialist of USS Galen
Lt. Hugh Camebridge - Voyager's counselor
Seven of Nine - Astrometrics specialist
Lt. Harry Kim - Voyager's Tactical and Chief of Security
The Doctor - Chief Medical Officer of USS Galen - Розваги
Hey look at that Harry finally got a promotion.
its nice that Harry finally got promoted
*Ship is boarded
"Who are you?"
"The ships councilor."
*Aliens get hit with a long piece of metal, decide that if he is non security personel, they don't want to meet security, and leave.
Carter's first line: Oh, so that is the famous "Voyager"
My thoughts exactly. When I read the books, I pictured Angela Bassett as Eden.
Should have kept janeway she is the star of the show!!
Harry Kim still finally gets a promotion!
LOL Kevin Sorbo.... nope. Kirstin Beyer, the author of the voyager novels has said that Cambridge is based on Hugh Laurie
That wasn't hard to guess given the descriptions she's given.
Not to mention his attitude. I immediately thought of House when he was introduced.
The more I think of it the more I like the Ideas of Kevin Sobo and Lisa Ryder. Also Amanda Tapping is a great idea. Last start emailing paramount folks. Time for a new Star Trek Series!!!!!
Holy shit Harry finally made Lt. Took him long enough. I am sure his mother with how she wanted to talk to Janeway about a promotion wasn't satisfied..lol.
Wasn't Afsarah Eden supposed to be "black" (described as "ebony skinned").
SJYNYC I'm just reading through the Voyager relaunch right now, and the trouble is, in the earlier books after the return, she's not really described much at all, and we're just left to assume she's "generic human female."
By "Children of the Storm" and afterwards, they start describing her as darker skinned with black, almond shaped eyes, and that she may have some unknown alien lineage. So, I kind of imagine her resembling the alien doctor from the Kelvin in Abrams' first Trek film.
Vacuous Truth kind of explains the unpronounceable name. I stumble in my head every time I see it.
Just reading ‘Full Circle’ now, and my mental picture of her ( dark skin with hair shorn almost to the scalp’ is looking like Lily Sloane, Zephram Cochrane’s assistant from ‘First Contact’. ( possibly even played by Alfre Woodard, who played Lily.)
@@alexanderjones9572 That would be good casting.
Cool and fun concept. Nice editing of the footage. If only it could be done! ;)
0:31
This is Samantha Carter from Stargate (Atlantis).
You can see it in the background.
awesome cast.....!
In the latest novel arc, Janeway was assimilated by the borg, the attempt to save her ended up killing her.
no, the note has changed: before it was written that Janeway died in the fanfic (or novel).
I love this but the thought of Kevin Sorbo as ship's consulor? What's he going to do flex and throw them through a bulkhead like Hercules?
Harry finally earn his rank, good
One thing I find funny in this fan trailer is that everyone got promoted one rank up exept Redge.
The novels are quite exquisite, actually
It's hilarious that Nog beats him to Lieutenant Junior Grade.
I just saw Becka Valentine and Dylan Hunt. Until I watched this video, I'd almost completely forgotten about Andromeda. I'm now off to watch some eps of it. Also, Carter's awesome and SG-1 rules all!
Nice. I like it.
Actually, Word of God has it that Hugh Laurie was the author's pick to play Counselor Cambridge.
great job :)
I couldn't get married without a name! D:
Thank god someone finally promoted harry =D
u gave harry kim a promotion lol. never thought he'd make it pass ensign lol
'Bout damn time Harry got promoted.
i like the idea
@msinvincible2000
Janeway doesn't die within Voyager itself unless you count a weird temporal thing.
But Janeway is promoted after return and makes a cameo in Star Trek Nemesis.
All those years in Starfleet, figuring out how to contact Voyager and Barclay is still just a lieutenant? He'll never make captain, but come on.
@msinvincible2000 Janeway is then Admiral Janeway and is working on a desk job at Starfleet HQ
@jmarnock How does she manage to go back in time and get Voyager home if she dies before the future parts of VOY:End Game?
1:12 Why does Seven of Nine get no video and only a still photo (and a heavily pixelated photo at that)?
nice you managed to add Dylan and Becca from Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda to the mix
"Robert Picardo as Doctor Joe" XD
I don't know which Captain was worse: Janeway or Archer. Both of their command decisions were so bad it was a plot device.
LOL... Poor Harry Kim and Reg Barclay, they are still Lieutenants
I've watched the entire Voyager series (yes all 7 seasons) five times now.
Whether or not Janeway dies, is in violation with the temporal prime directive.
After you've watched the series a number of times, you'll discover some quite fabulous things.
(Hint: Some episodes you see, are not what you think you see; I won't ruin the show by telling you the details, but particularly notice the rank of Tom Paris - it's *not* an error).
My thoughts exactly.
@derkomissar100 The Voyager relaunch books talk about how Voyager, along with a few other ships, use slipstream drive to return to the Delta Quadrant deliberately, and a lot of the Voyager crew go with them, being the closest thing Starfleet has to experts on the region. I do believe a lot of the future tech (ablative armor generators, transphasic torpedoes) were pulled, though, and Starfleet does use transphasic torpedoes during an invasion by the Borg, so take that for what you will.
Yes, I have seen the last movie. I am talking about what happened in the novel referenced by McDonaldWilliamT. Admiral Janeway gets assimilated by a branch of the Borg that is absorbing whole physical planets and is moving toward Earth. Starfleet has to destroy the Borg ship Janeway is on, and she is presumed dead by everyone in Starfleet after this. They don't know that Q snatched her away to the Q Continuum at the last second. All of this happens after Nemesis, the movie you referenced.
One thing i would change is by the end of voyager 7 of 9 had mostly reclaimed her humanity so by the time this show would begin i believe she would be going by Annika Hanson not 7 of 9.
So what brand of lawn mower did you use to record this.
I`d watch this!!!
problem with the idea is that its going to be like battle star galatica...
you have a fleet of ships heading back to delta quadrant using slipstream tech....
but most likely, the ultimate plot is to confirm whether all of the borg have joined the caeliar or/and are the caeliar on the other side of the universe and keeping to the ideals of peace and freedom...
really cool
why a actor from SG-1?
@jmarnock She does? I don't remember that...or maybe wrong book im remembering.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Trek-fan but I have outgrown this kind of stuff, adding chars from other franchises this way :r.
I only like that in a slash/humorous way!
nett gemacht :D
yeah Eden is black and also Voyager doesn't have that future armor anymore.. Part of Project Full Circle was that they stripped the ship of all future technology for studying and the Dept of Temporal Investigations thinking they contaminate the timeline. The only things they got back were slipstream drive and transphasic torpedoes. I think Janeway dying made for great stories.. I'm really loving all the post-Nemesis books.
Harry never gets promoted because everyone hates him. Don't believe me, look how often he was the surviving redshirt, for whom death would be too honourable.
Janeway never gets killed because the Reaper is too damn scared. To kill Janeway would prevent her from having another cup of coffee, we all know what happens to people/sentient nebulae/interstellar empires/Borg who come between her and coffee.
I could have sworn Captain Eden was described as having "dark skin." And I question Sorbo's ability to carry an accent since Counselor Cambridge was, without a doubt, British.
Janeway was one of a few even 7 of 9 and Kess! :) to name a few
@Versusdelyxe P.S. That semi-quote came from Gene Roddenberry..
Umm...actually Q snatched her away at the last second and took her to the Q Continuum. Everyone else thinks she's dead, but actually she is one of the Q now.
kevin sorbo as the counselor hahaha
where is Janeway ?
Kevin Sorbo as a Counselor. LMAO
hmmm action does go with the music.
Huh... 163 comments as of the time I am seeing this and NO ONE has noticed the BIG spelling mistake in your Captain's name? Beltran not Beltram. :/
Where the fuck is Admiral Janeway? Even when they'd follow the novel, they have to write Janeway in. Voyager without Janeway is a piece of garbage. She made Voyager what it was.
ikr
Admiral Janeway was left out of 2 newer Voy. novels due to unfortunately being killed off in a 2007 TNG novel (the 24th century Trek shows' novels are now part of the same "litverse"), but after fans protested, she was returned to human life in the VOY novel The Eternal Tide (published 2012).
Hahaha Sam meets Woolsey. :D :D
actualy she is an admiral avent you seen the last star trek movie?
@msinvincible2000 Very true, but Seven of Nine's skintight outfits weren't exactly a detractor, either...:D
not the same without Tuvok
I concurr about no Tuvok.
In the new 24th century Trek shows' novels Tuvok is now serving elsewhere, though he did appear in the most recent VOY novel A Pocket Full of Lies, which was published Jan. 2016.
I know huh, 7 years on the bridge with countless opportunities to prove himself and he doesnt ven make Lt, JG.
underachiever much
Has to be a typo no way will Harry ever get a promotion. hahaha
I watched star trek in the wrong order. I started with ENTERPRISE, then Watched VOYAGER, Im Stil working on Next Generation
nice work, but Afsarah Eden is clearly described as African-American (looking).
Where's Janeway?
When will poor Reg ever get a promotion?
@ChicoTorera Might be his mental health that keeps his rank held back look at Tuvok 120+ but still only a commander in the Titan books!
NO JANEWAY??!! NO WAY. NO HOW.
She sadly was not in this novel due to unfortunately being killed off in a 2007 TNG novel (the 24th century Trek shows' novels are now part of the same "litverse"), but after fans protested, she was returned to human life in the VOY novel The Eternal Tide (published 2012).
Oh, I loved Andromeda.
Following the novel, Janeway was dead at that point
@talltom1973 actually he's a Lt by this time
@msinvincible2000 don't worry. Janeway's death is not canonical i.e. not true to the Star Trek timeline
Amanda Tapping would do it, she'll do anything. She's the Nicholas Cage of Sci-fi TV. But, then you lost me at Kevin Sorbo.
where is seven.
I wish Jarem Kaz hadn't been killed off...
Bring back Kaz and Janeway!!!!!!!!!
Very nice attempt a lot of work has gone into this with the limited resources available. Not a fan of the actor choices for the new crew members simply for the fact they are renowned actors from other popular scifi series and would be hard to see them in the roles of the characters listed.
why not the young teen as an ensign?
There is no voyager with out captain Janeway
Admiral KJ sadly was not in this novel due to unfortunately being killed off in a 2007 TNG novel (the 24th century Trek shows' novels are now part of the same "litverse"), but after fans protested, she was returned to human life in the VOY novel The Eternal Tide (published 2012).
WTF??? Harry still can not get a promotion?
Good attempt. It jumps around a bit at the end, but a great attempt nonetheless.
:)
You had me right up until you threw Sorbo in the cast.
Wonder where the Wildman gals are.
In the novels?
**Spoiler warning**
Samantha Wildman reunited with her husband (Gres) and stayed in the Alpha Quadrant when the Full Circle project led a fleet (including Voyager) back to the Delta Quadrant now that starfleet has a working slipstream drive.
Naomi went to starfleet academy (accelerated development and all that), but was encouraged to drop out and live some other options first, before committing to a career in starfleet.
Sam struck up a friendship with the first Tamarian in Starfleet (Sharak) who is Voyagers new Chief Medical Officer. The Doctor is now assigned to a dedicated medical & advanced holo-ship.
@SirGalahadCtny Well, in the end...it comes down to two things. What you personally like, and what popularity/influence a show had on the public and the marketplace. In this regard, ST and SW are on top...with 40 plus years running for Trek, and 30 odd years for Star Wars. A person has a right to like/dislike what they want. (I.E. I don't care for McDonalds because of health/food issues), but I can hardly say they aren't the best at what they do. The market says they're the ones to beat. I.E. #1
What about Janeway
SPOILERS: Dead. She got assimilated and her cube was destroyed.
@jmarnock those books don't effect the telivision series because acording to paramount only what is seen on tv or in the movies are 'real' so officialy janeway isn't dead, which personaly i am VERY thankfull for, i'm probably an awful trekkie for saying this but janeway is my favorite captian and to me the best, to me its not a question of kirk or picard, rather how much are you going to hate on my for saying janeway :P
@msinvincible2000, It was the ONLY reason i did!!!
Well, it is interesting. But for the couselor, maybe the current James Bond? He is a Brit. LOL. For a black Fleet Captain....the gal who played Uhura in the remake maybe?
Voyager is not Voyager without Captain Janeway. We need to see Janeway in the novels again. Curse the morons who killed her off!
It would not the same without Janeway it's like bringing back star trek enterprise but without tucker. It's just not possible !
Not the same without Captain Janeway. :/
I'd like my 1:50 back, please.
@eddielung31 Janeway died long before Unworthy.
I can understand that, but I'd just hate it if Janeway gets killed off in a book.
She sadly was not in this novel due to unfortunately being killed off in a 2007 TNG novel (the 24th century Trek shows' novels are now part of the same "litverse"), but after fans protested, she was returned to human life in the VOY novel The Eternal Tide (published 2012).
