Judging by the interviews it blows my mind that these guys largely didn't know how much of an impact they've made on so many people until fairly recently. These guys and gals have informed and solidified how the characters look to this very day. I was 9 when I first played RE1. I wasn't allowed to play it because of how violent it was. My uncle would let me slip in a few sessions here and there until I beat the game. We can look back and see how cheesy the intro and ending was, but when you're 9 and all you had was a SNES: that intro blew your f'n mind. It was rad. It was terrifying. It gave me nightmares. It enticed me. Beckoned. Dared me to play this game that I wasn't supposed to play. It was perfect.
I remember Alyson Court, the original voice actor for Claire, saying she didn't know she was in Resident Evil 2 until she heard her voice in a game trailer at some trade show.
I was around the same age as well and you’re spot on. At the time it was mind blowing to have live action cutscenes, even as cheesy as they were, in a video game after we had spent years in the 16-bit era.
I was 11 when RE1 came out n had same view, seeing live action was really something back then, was cool AF and even playing the game felt like you was in a movie in ways.
@@chad1097 Think that story checks out because she approached some key people at that show, joined promoting the game more, her charisma and out-there nature helped promote the game a lot on these meet and greet trade shows. At the time she was promoting her TV show gig being dressed as a clown and when she heard her voice got over to their setup, said she is in this game, the other people just looked at each other and was like who TF is this girl in a clown costume also is she really in this game... So after some talk etc she joined them. Later got producer credits and she was also a ''drama director'' too among other things. Sadly later on as for the rest it all went downhill with the corporate politics and with that the series too and basically everything.
32:57, if you guys are reading this. When RE released in 1996, it heavily appealed to kids who would watch horror movies. "This Game Contains Scenes of Explicit Violence and Gore" The game feels like you're playing a horror movie and it was amazing, still is. We'd never seen anything like the opening intro and we genuinely cared for the characters and their well-being. It was also a really difficult game and almost served as a rite of passage in Middle School. Staying over at a friends house on the weekend, staying up late playing RE, only the glow of the TV screen, getting terrified, ha. The gameplay is arguably flawless and because of that, it always had an audience. It's just damn fun to play and allows a variety of way to explore the mansion and get various endings. It brings back lots of great memories and people still deeply care about the characters.
The fact this is the cast from the original 1996 game is f'n amazing!! Back in a time where video game voice actors didn't get the recognition compared to today's ones.
Ha! It's no wonder they'd never played the actual game. They probably just had fun doing the intro movie and made some money, and didn't think much of it over the years.
I can’t believe Capcom hasn’t put this together themselves for the fans after decades of die hard fans. Resident Evil was the first true horror survival game. Such an iconic game that’s influenced hundreds of other games afterwards. Thank you RoE for putting this together! Truly amazing!
@@n.e.x.u.s Game made by Capcom in 1985, before Resident Evil or Alone in the Dark. Has the first features of a survival horror game and is the first inspiration for a lot of other horror survivals to come after
Seriously those guys do not even understand the impact they had on many people who grew up during that time. I grew up in Syria, and RE 1 director’s cut was the first horror game I ever played in the 90’s, and it blew my mind. I didn’t even know that games can be scary but I loved it. I loved the cut scenes those guys starred in, and watched it many times. I still love it and prefer it over the animated ones in the remake (although the remake game itself is better). I’m very excited for this new movie and hope it succeeds and become the start of something bigger! Good luck
Same here. This game crafted my imagination for horror. It was the first intricate horror experience I could comfortably dive in. At the time as a kid this was revolutionary
This was a nostalgia bomb, I appreciated every second of this. RE1 was my 1st game I got on playstation as a kid and been a fan ever since. Great work on bringing them together for that behind the scenes insight.
Brother, this was one of the first games I saw played as a kid. …You know how some people, they had a fear of dinosaurs? Maybe even ghosts? This original game made zombies my nightmare. When I was scared of the dark as a kid, it’s because I feared zombies. That’s why this game is special to me. This institution is in my top 3 favorite game series ever made, always will be.
this is so crazy. the search for the original live actors is almost as legendary as the actors that solidified the look of these iconic characters themselves. to see it all slowly but surely come to a head at this moment is beautiful. major thanks to all of the original actors for taking the time to do this for the fans, it's really special for a lot of us.
I gasped when I saw Barry! I love that they're all so humble having just done - in their eyes - "a couple of days," shooting, and yet created 3 of my favourite characters of all time. I love the colour coded shirts, and the fact that wesker not only has the shades, but a comb back hairstyle... I can almost see him now scraping it across his scalp before standing cross armed with a "I own you" bad guy look on his face. What an interview!!!
This is so cool to see these guys on the same screen together again. I was 12 in 1996 and can't even tell you how many times a saw these dude's in the game intro! Thanks for making this happen Residence of evil 🙏
I'm not even kidding, I happy cried seeing these three together. Such a massive massive influence on me growing up these games, and this is just serotonin in a video for me. Much much love
Omg, leave the guy alone! There are plenty of tears at every k-pop concert or football match, so why should it be different here? Heroes come in all formats and sizes, it doesn't make the experience any less valuable just because it's a video game.
You guys are the heroes we never got to know! We, the fans, were left decades without any information about you. But we know by heart every dialog line you guys gave us in the original Resident Evil and it's fanstastic to be able to see you talking. You are all real, you were there, you were never just polygons. The original Chris, original Barry and original Wesker, right there! This is absolutely amazing!
The first resident evil from 1996 had such an impact on me that it made me become a military officer. I'm still a soldier, so it's safe to say you've set my path in life. And i really enjoy this path, so thank you guys!
Man as an OG RE Fan, this interview was EPICCCCCC!!!!! From the original Resident Evil's game cast members having no clue how big the Francise got is incredible lol. I feel like Capcom did them super dirty without placing the actor's last name during the end credits but thats just my opinion. That was super cool at the end when you guys all fist bumped each other for bringing them all back together for this teaser which looks SICKKKKK!!! and I hope becomes a full short fan film, was absolutely amazing 👏.
I just want to say that this really cheered me up: as someone who's dealing with depression-anxiety, I rarely laugh these days - but watching this I was laughing out loud with my eyes watering.
I met Chris and Barry here in Milwaukee at a convention called Midwest Gaming Classic. Me and my friends was the NWO Wolfpack and we had the WCW belts and Barry thought we was actual wrestlers and approached us asking where is the wrestling event.....we was in total shocked and I was like BARRY BURTON!! He smiled and said yes that's me. I told him the location and we got a picture with him and Chris and Barry requested another pic with him putting me in a headlock lol They were super cool 😎 😎
@@jessicamarieGo Well you got her eyes and some of the facial features haha. And yeah shes 1 of my favorite heroine. The original zombie killa. I dont have many fav. Female characters in games. But it will be her, Claire Redfield, Samus Aran, and Lara Croft.
@@leeturner8023 thats right man. Its just that the hair is black instead of brown. But yeah I had to double glance haha. The actress has been missing and nothing is really knoen about her.
So cool seeing the OG's and hearing their story! I find it interesting how back in those days a lot of actors took part in projects that later on became legendary and the actors just thought nothing of it until later
I wanna see the elusive Inez too. She needs to come out of hiding lol. I know Shinji Mikami didnt like Inez and thought she whined too much but maybe all that has settled and he might have some retrospection. Shinji was a loose cannon but he had vision, which is why he remade the perfection that is RE1remake.
Seriously, thank you for this. Resident Evil was also a huge part of my childhood, and I’ve just brushed off RE: directors cut for the first time in years, and the opening cut scene is one of the best things ever put to film. I’ve also recently brought a few uninitiated friends into the RE fold, and even 25 years later, those cut scenes retain their charm.
Totally agree! I remember being a kid and playing this game, thinking how awesome it is to be playing a horror movie. I'm surprised America got the censored version. Seeing the uncut version being more bloody and in color makes me think we got cheated! Haha! I mean there were already violent games, like Mortal Kombat, in the US so I don't see why they felt the US version needed to tone down the violence. Either way, its still a classic!
I hope they're able to contact the rest of the cast members, it would be absolutely epic to see them all after all these years, especially since fans worldwide have tried very hard to find them.
It's absolutely insane that these gentlemen participated in one of the greatest survival horror series, maybe even video games in general, and they only found that out recently.
I loved this! Much thanks to Charlie, Greg, Eric, Andrew, and the fans who tracked them down. It was informative, entertaining, and wholesome. Those 37 minutes flew by. Regarding Eric's question... For me, one of the reasons Resident Evil is so captivating and memorable is largely the awe of it my first time experiencing it, and the nostalgia when I think back to seeing and playing it for the first time... Here's this game, unlike anything I've seen or played before--a horror game--and it's absolutely amazing. My first experience with the horror genre of video games... I was 10, and I would say everything is so much more impactful and resonating in your younger years. I guess the unfortunate thing is life has a way of making people jaded after so long... Of course, I still love it to this day. Resident Evil 1 is still my favorite of the series. The remake of the first game is of the most beautifully atmospheric games in my opinion, and while I prefer the remade version, I still really like the original. Especially the opening that Charlie, Greg, Eric, and others are in. Subscribed!
Holy hell, this is the most amazing thing I have ever seen in my life, you guys actually brought the original cast together...I'm just speechless right now. This game changed my life in the 90's, it's permanently imbedded into my brain, the opening video SET THE PACE of RE. Wow...I'm just star struck right now.
Its crazy to think none of these guys even knew resident evil became so big until later on...its awesome how humble they are and how passionate they are about the game now. It would be great to see them all do or watch a playthrough of the game!
That was an interesting interview! I remember playing the original RE on PS1 at my neighbor's house in the mid-90's and despite the cheesiness at times, it was still quite scary for us kids back then. There was nothing quite like it up to that point. We recognized that the actors probably weren't big-time Hollywood actors (particularly the voice acting) but that's part of what gave it charm. They should have given those guys another shot at something as they really do fit the characters even today (despite how many steroids they gave Chris). But it's funny how things like that worked back then - just random people and events coming together whereas now everything seems thoroughly planned and institutionalized. Even for a company as big as Microsoft, if you watch the Xbox documentary, that project was originally a pretty unprofessional thing that barely managed to happen. It really was a whole other time back then and that's part of what makes these games so nostalgic. The RE Remake on GameCube is what really got me hooked on the RE series. It has become my favorite game series of all. Thanks!
When a good seed is planted, something good is harvested. In other words, it so heartwarming to have these legacy figures be celebrated, as well as Resident Evil as a story, you know.
This is amazing, it's incredible to see them together again, I really hope they will continue to be active in the Resident Evil universe in some way;. They are LEGENDS and this is legendary! Original Chris, Barry, and Wesker.
i really almost cried when i saw theese 3 guys , i still see them in the opening clip from 1996, im now 34, so im feeling lot of nostalgy! thanks for this gift !!
Imagine being Greg's neighbor and knowing all the time where Wesker's hideout was all the time until RE5 was released. Make jokes about the Umbrella corporation being next door, stuff like that. These guys are so cool and calmed, they are discovering they have been a huge thing for years and I love their reactions to each question. They even asked what all the fuss is about, they can't believe how passionate are the fans about something they considered just another job.
I can definitely attest to Charlie that RE has definitely gotten me through tough times. RE, especially 1 and 2, are my comfort games, with Chris Redfield being my favorite character. If I ever need my brain to shut off for an hour+, or to forget about the bad stuff, I throw in RE1, pick Chris, and auto pilot myself through the game
Doesn’t matter how many iterations or actors play these legendary roles, these men are the real original Chris, Barry and Wesker, also, Eric’s voice sound very much like Albert Wesker. I would have loved to see Inezh(Jill)and Linda (Rebecca) there
I was 11 years old in 1996 and my friend showed my RE1 and i was blown away. I was used the SNES 16 bit era graphics and to go from that to 32 bit 3D horror with movie like cut scenes blew my mind. The RE1 intro was the first time i had seen live action scenes in a game and I loved it. These actors were iconic to me growing up.
Wesker even has a touch of that classis Wesker voice of the game!! This is probably the coolest thing of all 2022 for me!!! Thank you so much for making this happen! 😭😭😭
It's remarkable how much Gregory remembers about the night shoot. Really great to hear about the details and the live dogs (you do see a couple of blurred shots of a dog running).
Been gaming for almost 40 years. RE1 is probably still my favorite game of all-time. Thanks to the actors for taking time out of their lives to make this video! You guys are as ICONIC as any video game character can get.
It's so great to see the original guys again 26 years later. Resident Evil back in it's glory days. The part that scared me the most is the zombie dog that sounded like the dragonzord. Also the early days of cell phones and the internet. The best moments just playing the game for many hours. Ready to play games out of the box. Those were the days simple times.
Listening to Wesker is like, "Dear Class of 1999... wear sunglasses. If it's the most important thing you listen to out of all this." His voice is just awesome.
It’s really cool seeing the three of them again. I spent many hours playing the original Resident Evil, so I have seen those live-action scenes many times. It’s really great seeing them back together again, all these years later.
OH MY FUXKIN’ GOD!!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯😱😱😱😱😱🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹 I always wonder what happened to original cast members!! ITS FUXKIN’ INSANE TO SEE THEM AGAIN!! I hope the other 3 cast members see this video!!! Idk why but this is making me tear up 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
They did find her and she agreed to do an interview but for some reason she later changed her mind. Hopefully someday she changes her mind again and does the interview.
Not likely. Story I read was that she agreed to do an interview, but the interviewer was done weirdo with her out her on a guilt trip over video game violence and the deaths blamed on Doom. Nothing related to RE at all. Given she has a young child, I doubt she has time for weirdos like that.
Greg Smith (Barry) lives less than 3 hours away from me irl, a road trip 🤣 unreal.. I had no idea Barry was an Australian! I played RE1 back when I was 10 years old and it was my first RE game.
RE1 is my favorite game and Barry has always been my favorite character, and a lot of that is due to Greg's performance. This has been such a fantastic thing to watch after all these years and I wish I could say thank you to these people.
This was absolutely awesome. As a huge fan of RE since it first came out, these actors here will forever be my Chris, Barry & Wesker. I can always hear the theme and the voice announcing these characters names. This truly made my day yesterday. Thanks for all the people who put this together. I salute you 🙌👏
Omg my childhood right here 😭 thank you for posting this man. One day I would love to be on your show and just talk RE and I have had many dreams about the mansion and RE Zombies. From a former Sony Playstation employee I salute your work good sir.
I just want to say THANK YOU! You are all my heroes. I remember that Resident Evil 1 seemed to me like being part of a movie, being inside that house, moving as a real person and seeing characters act out all the different permutations of the story. I was 14 years old, RE1 was my first RE, and for me it was instantly the best game I have ever played, and 2 and 3 only improved on the magical formula of RE1. I can only hope “Chris, Barry and Wesker” are seeing this comment, and that it can warm their hearts as much as playing RE1 warmed mine. Today I am a game developer, so thank you for setting me on my path as well. Much love from Brazil!
This is another level of epicness. I thought this would never happen, and yet, here their are. Thanks to all the passionate fans who made this possible. What a time to be alive!
This is a great present for any Resident Evil fan and specially for those who love the first game. I hope someday we can see an interview with Inezh, Linda and Jason too. Thank You very much guys for making this possible and thanks to Charlie, Greg and Eric for making our childhoods so memorable :')
This is so cool, thank you for putting this together, and for the wonderful actors for getting back together to do this for us long-time fans! The nostalgia is real!!
Thank you, all of you for this. This is special to me. I’m glad to say I was one of the first to play this game on its release and it totally blew my mind on how video games were advancing at the time. My cousins and I used to play this game in the dark with the stereo cranked up real loud on sleepovers. I still own my original copy of the game to this day in the big box before Playstation quickly switched to jewel cases early in its debut. Thank you again for making this happen.
Yeahh, even the contemporary versions of the characters still have a touch from these guys. Like these guys are the progenitors of the characters.
They were the actors in the live-action sequence at the start, not the voice actors, but are just as iconic I feel :)

@@n.e.x.u.s It is neither Alone in the Dark or Resident Evil. It is Sweet Home

Nostalgia atomic bomb! All we need now is Inez, Jason, and Linda and the saturation is complete.
Bro I love how you’ve included some of the classic RE soundtracks in your videos. Love the channel.
Parenting went brrr
So glad you appreciated it how important 🤮
Brother, this was one of the first games I saw played as a kid.
…You know how some people, they had a fear of dinosaurs? Maybe even ghosts? This original game made zombies my nightmare. When I was scared of the dark as a kid, it’s because I feared zombies.
That’s why this game is special to me. This institution is in my top 3 favorite game series ever made, always will be.
They affected our childhoods. They changed our lives.
this is so crazy. the search for the original live actors is almost as legendary as the actors that solidified the look of these iconic characters themselves. to see it all slowly but surely come to a head at this moment is beautiful. major thanks to all of the original actors for taking the time to do this for the fans, it's really special for a lot of us.
thank God for allowing me to live long enough to see these three legends together again.
I played the original resident evil when I was a kid in high school, good to see these gentlemen doing well , they sure aged better than I did
I gasped when I saw Barry!
I Can’t believe we had the pleasure and opportunity to see a sit down between Chris Barry And Albert they’ve aged well through all the survival horror
A watershed moment for the community.
This is amazing, thank you for everyone involved in finding, reaching out to these actors and organizing this.
This is so cool to see these guys on the same screen together again. I was 12 in 1996 and can't even tell you how many times a saw these dude's in the game intro! Thanks for making this happen Residence of evil 🙏
Appearantly you and i are born in the same year 😎
I'm not even kidding, I happy cried seeing these three together. Such a massive massive influence on me growing up these games, and this is just serotonin in a video for me. Much much love
Cringey af
@@burakcoskun38 how is it cringe did you not have a childhood or something? Weirdo
You actually cried? Like literally cried?
Omg, leave the guy alone! There are plenty of tears at every k-pop concert or football match, so why should it be different here? Heroes come in all formats and sizes, it doesn't make the experience any less valuable just because it's a video game.
Lmao why weirdo?
You guys are the heroes we never got to know! We, the fans, were left decades without any information about you. But we know by heart every dialog line you guys gave us in the original Resident Evil and it's fanstastic to be able to see you talking. You are all real, you were there, you were never just polygons. The original Chris, original Barry and original Wesker, right there! This is absolutely amazing!
They're not the voice actors though
Like Galuade MG said, they’re the actors for the live-action cutscenes, not the voice actors.
I wish they had Jill and Rebecca there also.
@@Ridley_Lockhart I believe Jill hasn't been found yet.
The first resident evil from 1996 had such an impact on me that it made me become a military officer. I'm still a soldier, so it's safe to say you've set my path in life. And i really enjoy this path, so thank you guys!
That is a cool story
Man as an OG RE Fan, this interview was EPICCCCCC!!!!! From the original Resident Evil's game cast members having no clue how big the Francise got is incredible lol. I feel like Capcom did them super dirty without placing the actor's last name during the end credits but thats just my opinion. That was super cool at the end when you guys all fist bumped each other for bringing them all back together for this teaser which looks SICKKKKK!!! and I hope becomes a full short fan film, was absolutely amazing 👏.
THIS IS THE BEST RE-UNION EVER
this is like a dream come true, never expected to see these three reunited again.
This isn't an ordinary day... we're part of this legendary reunion!
Ordinary day for me
Chill
I just want to say that this really cheered me up: as someone who's dealing with depression-anxiety, I rarely laugh these days - but watching this I was laughing out loud with my eyes watering.
I have depression and anxiety too and seeing them altogether later with Linda was so amazing, I grew up with the Resident Evil's.
I told him the location and we got a picture with him and Chris and Barry requested another pic with him putting me in a headlock lol
They were super cool 😎 😎
Someone let Greg know, he's technically everyone's dad.
Seeing the 3 original actors come to do this interview is really incredible and after 25 years. Can’t wait to watch The Keeper’s Diary. 🙌
For a sec there i thought u were the original Jill haha.

Hey lol! Funny running into you here Saggy! Sup?
Take note of this interview Capcom!
Jill & Rebecca actresses are already found & contacted, but they’re keeping themselves anonymous for now, hope they’ll reveal themselves soon.

DUDE!!!!....fucking awsome to see Eric Pirius A.K.A "Wesker" wear those sunglasses...this is the Wesker we want!

This cast is a living relic. They should know their importance.
I love how Wesker kept his glasses on throughout the whole interview :) Forever bad ass :)
Its crazy to think none of these guys even knew resident evil became so big until later on...its awesome how humble they are and how passionate they are about the game now. It would be great to see them all do or watch a playthrough of the game!
agree love to see thim play RE1 remake or orginal to here there voice
I’m so happy that they know they have fans and that they are micro-celebrities. They certainly deserve it. I hope they make more appearances.
i really almost cried when i saw theese 3 guys , i still see them in the opening clip from 1996, im now 34, so im feeling lot of nostalgy! thanks for this gift !!
Greg seems like such a nice fella in both reunion interviews - it's amazing
I can definitely attest to Charlie that RE has definitely gotten me through tough times. RE, especially 1 and 2, are my comfort games, with Chris Redfield being my favorite character. If I ever need my brain to shut off for an hour+, or to forget about the bad stuff, I throw in RE1, pick Chris, and auto pilot myself through the game
Chris was our old partner, y'know.
Nah. Give me Jill’s polygonal booty all day. Plus no small key hunting.
That sounded very therapeutic.
The famous "NO DONT GO!" By Chris Redfield.
Doesn’t matter how many iterations or actors play these legendary roles, these men are the real original Chris, Barry and Wesker, also, Eric’s voice sound very much like Albert Wesker.
I would have loved to see Inezh(Jill)and Linda (Rebecca) there
Rebecca and jill are already found and are not anonymous anymore. They are just uninterested into doing the project.
Wait what!!?? I knew Linda was found but Inezh!!?? Really!?? Where!!??
I was 11 years old in 1996 and my friend showed my RE1 and i was blown away. I was used the SNES 16 bit era graphics and to go from that to 32 bit 3D horror with movie like cut scenes blew my mind. The RE1 intro was the first time i had seen live action scenes in a game and I loved it. These actors were iconic to me growing up.
I like how they are even wearing the colors of their characters
Dude you got the original cast together holllly sheeettt

Wesker even has a touch of that classis Wesker voice of the game!! This is probably the coolest thing of all 2022 for me!!! Thank you so much for making this happen! 😭😭😭
And of course wearing his iconic sunglasses. ;)
It's remarkable how much Gregory remembers about the night shoot. Really great to hear about the details and the live dogs (you do see a couple of blurred shots of a dog running).
can you specify where exactly there is a dog running?
Its amazing how the quest to find the original RE1 cast has become an RE-Esque nonlinear puzzle quest and mystery.
Poetic.
The chills running my spine seeing them. Hope all is good for them!
Listening to Wesker is like, "Dear Class of 1999... wear sunglasses. If it's the most important thing you listen to out of all this." His voice is just awesome.

Not likely. Story I read was that she agreed to do an interview, but the interviewer was done weirdo with her out her on a guilt trip over video game violence and the deaths blamed on Doom. Nothing related to RE at all.

Thank you, all of you for this. This is special to me. I’m glad to say I was one of the first to play this game on its release and it totally blew my mind on how video games were advancing at the time. My cousins and I used to play this game in the dark with the stereo cranked up real loud on sleepovers.
