My Resident Evil fan film shot between 2003 & 2004. Check out our facebook page for information on the upcoming 20th anniversary edition! / residentevilbiohazard
That’s bc we as fans play and love the game. Hollywood just says “we’ll do our own thing”. Just like the movie, I was like wtf is Alice? Damn Hollywood fucktards.
I mean as a professional Filmmaker , myself I hope you don’t mean by production value, acting costumes, and basically everything that makes film film. To me this is like what I would consider cringe worthy.
Wesker was portrayed by my friend Sean. Sean can be seen in another short film of mine called The Safeguard. The Safeguard is a semi-prequel to this film. Not the same characters, but we all play similar characters.
@@MattBartolomeo Timeless, I know the feeling. Film and theatre have been my favs. There are some great RE channels like Score PN and Ink Ribbon, some great stuff
Hey everyone! Thank you all for the kind response to our Resident Evil fan film. We have a facebook page set up for the upcoming 20th anniversary edition! More info on the way! facebook.com/ResidentEvilBiohazard
I'm so happy this video popped up in my algorithm. As a massive fan of the Rez franchise I applaud this fan film. Sure, at times it was corny/low budget/not the greatest acting but you have no idea how much charm this fan film has though. I can see the love and passion that went into this with the money and tools you have available. This is better than any "film" I could make and as a Rez fan all I want is a show/movie to follow the games plot/characters/scenery/etc and this more or less nailed Rez 1. I hope you guys find the finance to make Rez 2. Thank you for this video!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I lot of the film's limitations helped us. We knew we weren't going to make something that could be shown in theaters, but there's a certain charm in the Resident Evil universe of being a bit corny. Absolutely intentional here, and while editing, I often chose takes where my cast was a bit more over the top than not.
This has always been one of my favorite RE fan films. It really goes to show anything can be done if there is enough passion put into the project. The accuracy to the original game is amazing and the acting/writing is also pretty good for a film like this as most fan films based on Resident Evil have terrible acting and a poor script but this one gets it just right.
Thank you very much! We made this with absolutely NO MONEY. It was all done with the family owned camera, and passion. Somehow I convinced my close friends to do it, and the results are what they are. I am currently editing my first feature film Dream which you can see an early preview on my channel.
This is awesome, fantastic work from the whole team, would love to see a Resi 2 and Resi 3 film, it would be interesting how you go about playing Nemesis.
Thank ya so much! We talked about making RE2 for a long time. We live in a small town with an old brick elementary school that we would have used as the Police Station. For monsters such as Hunters, Lickers and Nemesis, I had planned to use a combination of actors with wire frame and paper mache, along with miniatures super imposed onto our live footage. Ultimately we abandoned RE2 & RE3 films in favor of an original called Dream (featured on my channel). The same cast and crew that made this film helped make that one. Check it out!
What an absolute treat! Also, i dont think most understand just how good of an editing job this is for the era it was done in. Video editing was a whole different ballgame for amateur film makers 20 years ago. Well done!
You are incredibly kind with your comments! This was edited back in the day using iMovie 4. It was a challenge!! Part of the editing was actually mapped out in my head while shooting. George Romero once said to me shoot to cover your ass. The experience taught me a lot, and while this absolutely is an amateur project, it gave me confidence as an editor and as a director.
incredible although the same as in welcome raccoon city but unlike the fact that they added scenes from the games they would have been more original to do it with the clothing and a little realistic in the scenarios I think they could live up to it if they repeated it but at the edge of the game but more horror action but I still liked it
this was great. thanksf or posting as a TRUE fan of resident evil games , it's impossible to not like ;) awesome music and thank you for doing this. it warmed my heart to watch
It was only ever intended to be made for ourselves, but as UA-cam became a thing, more and more people pushed me to release it here. Glad you enjoyed it!
Too kind of you! Looking back on this project, now 20+ years ago, I am so grateful for the cast that said yes to this very ambitious idea to create a Resident Evil fan film. At the time, most fan films were either Star Wars, Star Trek, or Indiana Jones things. No one had really thought of making a Resident Evil fan film (Resident Evil 4 hadn't even come out when we were shooting this). Clearly we were on to something as I get messages from the RE community daily asking to make a sequel. Thank you all!
A combination of both. We really tried to match our footage to the original RE Remake cut scenes. Basically if we couldn't shoot it ourselves, we reverted to the cut scenes. Today I would shoot ourselves against green screens, build up backgrounds in Photoshop/AfterEffects and call it a day.
It's very impressive it should have started with bravo team with Rebecca first I still enjoyed watching this movie it better than the other movies in the theaters . Keep up the good work Im sure resident evil 2 will be just as awesome 👍.
@@MattBartolomeo yuup, agreed, they completely rewrote the personality of the Cast and events. Apart from that only good thing was the locations recreated

I think it’s interesting what they’re trying to achieve. Ella Balinska is a very good actress, as is Lance Reddick a great actor. I just feel, as with the live action films, the producers haven’t really nailed what fans of the series have been vocalizing for since the beginning. I did enjoy Welcome to Raccoon City, and felt it was the best RE project to date. Flaws and all.
I liked all the sets and areas that you guys used. What City you guys from. I'm in Denver Colorado. I see things around here I would use, but you guys did really well.

better than the netfilx series i can tell you that for damn sure

Whoever is playing Wesker, the voice and mannerisms were accurate. I love this whole thing! You can tell it was made by real fans.
Wesker was portrayed by my friend Sean. Sean can be seen in another short film of mine called The Safeguard. The Safeguard is a semi-prequel to this film. Not the same characters, but we all play similar characters.

This is really cool, very entertaining and nostalgic, nicely spliced edits, etc. Easy to watch, I can tell you all had fun making this
It was a dream come true to have friends give their time on a project I really wanted to make. Once in a lifetime really.

@@mattoessenick1003 I honestly enjoyed Welcome to Raccoon City. It's the closest thing we've gotten to a true Resident Evil film.
And the Oscar goes to...
Anything but this acting!
Resident Evil Fans were able to adapt this in a cave!!!!, with a bunch of scraps!!!!.
Your move, Hollywood!
As low-budget as this seems, I can't stop watching! Just goes to show that you don't need a ton of cash to make something decent! Good work!

6:23 A picture of of the actress that played Jill Valentine in a mansion she never visited. I'm pretty sure that was intentional lol
Correct! Also notice Wesker’s sunglasses change throughout the movie. It’s silly for anyone to wear them at night, so we had fun with that.
