thank you Jamie! I have the King Art Gel Sticks, and I've been applying them with a dry brush - until I saw your video! I had a fabulous day taking a slightly damp paintbrush to the tip of my gel stick and painting the day away!! I'm thrilled at the end results and got me excited about my gel sticks
Yay!! Love them they are so versatile 😍 Thanks so much for watching. 🥰
Thank you for sharing. I never saw them used . Enjoyed your video .
Thanks Jeanne!
Your daughter is super cute Jamie
I never heard of gel crayons until now, thank you for sharing!
Your welcome! Thanks for watching 😊
Okay definitely going to invest in some gel crayons one of these days! These can do so much I never knew lol! Thanks for sharing Jamie! 💜
If you put some shavings on a dish or textured plastic cutting board and create a richer liquid..use less water than a water brush uses.. you'll get a brighter color without applying the crayon to paper which leaves marks. Thank you so much for the demonstration. I really liked how you pulled up to get the wild flares of color. The green is a good grass too.i wonder if you could scratch in some blades along with the green. Very inspirational and cool! Love Marcia in Modesto
That green patch looks like a duck marsh. Very pretty. I just got the large Shuttle Arts one today from Amazon Warehouse for nearly half price.
What no Gelato’s? FYI you can also scribble the gel crayon onto a plastic palette and use your watercolour brush to pick up the colour and paint - you can also do this with Neo 2. I have also used the baby wipe directly on the paper to spread the gel. I too have a vast collection of Gel crayons they are lots of fun to use especially with backgrounds - for me I find the budget brands are awesome the Gelatos are IMO the smoothest and go a long way when smothed with a finger.
I will be doing gellatos in a separate video. Gel crayons and gellatos are alot of fun to use. Definitely fun for backgrounds
I have tried the scribble on a plastic pallet it does work out well. I will have to try the baby wipe thing you suggested.
So you base your picture with the gelatos I just recently bought all the gelato colors that I wanted and I really don't know what to do with it I just love how smooth and creamy they are so after I smoother mine and take a paintbrush and paint in between the lines before I do my pencil work do I have that right I'm new to all of this coloring I don't have too many people to talk to you about any of it so I appreciate any help anybody can give me and any help anybody can give me about coloring in general I would appreciate any and all have a great day
Susan Neidlinger - I too love the smoothness of the gelato’s I generally use them in the background with no water - I smooth it out with my finger then colour up to the edge of the pic with a matching pencil colour - I also love overlaying stamps esp in gold ink over the top - I think with colouring there is no right or wrong - it’s all about experimenting, learning and top most having fun. Almost forgot if you need to use water to get into the tiny bit q tips are awesome and cheap to use. Re colouring tips - I found that watching utube tutorial and colour alongs helped me understand blending and layering a lot more. Happy colouring
What timing!!! I just this week got my first set of gel crayons, I have the same set of Kingsart as you and had no idea what to do with them, so thanks! 😁
Try wrapping the baby wipe around your finger and move the color that way. Just make sure the wipe is not super wet. I use this method for background and large areas.
Thank you for the tip! Thanks for watching
Super cute! Can't wait for the gelato video nowt that I have some lol. The kitten looks so good! They do get really good coverage awesome =)
They are super fun to use. And have great pigment. Every time I use them I learn something different.
Just stumbled on to your channel, love this video, great tips & technics, thanks for sharing. .
Never tried the gelatos either. But I do have the Crayola twistables, will practice with them. Take
good care, be well, stay safe . Maddy NY 😊
Thanks for watching! Gel crayons are super creamy and really fun to play with. I will be doing another video with gellatos soon. Stay tuned.
Crayola regular twistable crayons, are different then these. But they are really fun to use too.
Thanks for sharing Jamie, l am about to get some, when l can find a source that is reasonably priced
This is a really good deal for the kingsart.

Jamie I have oil pastels crayons is that water based like paint on them I never used them yet
Oil pastels are different than gel crayons. They react differently to water because the are oil based. Gel crayons are water soluble.
@@jamiescoloringlove oh okay thank you for your help I appreciated that
have you tried using them dry, with something like a short haired stiff brush and blend it out dry, to give it a nice faded out look? Ive seen lots of people do this technique with gelatos but here in Canada they are hard to find & kind of expensive so this set could be a great alternative! but havent seen anybody test this technique out with this particular set
Yes I have recently done this technique it works beautifully. Thank you for watching
Do they bleed thur the next page when you use water colors
No they don't.
@@jamiescoloringlove cool I have to try that
Nice video. I don't have any of the brands you used so now I know a little more when I go to buy some of them. Do you know how these compare to the Jane Davenport ones? I have them but have been too chicken to use them so far.
I am trying to stop being nervous about using supplies because it's dumb. Why buy them to have them sit around essentially in storage. So I've been watching videos to learn more about them.
I dont have the Jane davenport ones. But I know that is a wonderful brand! I bet they are good ones.
I know how it is keeping something in storage. I am trying to be better at using everything.
Give them a test run on a pdf. You might really love the out come. Thanks so much for watching my video and your comment. 🥰
@@jamiescoloringlove I'm still in the process of organizing my stuff so I can use it. I'm disabled and only have a small area I can store stuff to be readily usable vs having to ask my husband to get something for me. I've had a lot of stuff I couldn't get at it myself and frankly I was embarrassed when I saw items on haul videos I thought looked great only to find out I had already purchased them two YEARS before and never used them.
I made some big changes and now that stuff is all relatively easily accessible so I will be testing a lot of the "new" stuff out now.
I am watching a lot of haul and completed pages from new channels I've found from Lovella's videos.
Do you have any neocolor II’s? If so, how do they compare to those?
I dont have those, but I do have the lyra aquerrall crayons that are like neocolors. They have a different texture. These you dont have to activate with water you can use them straight. They are the consistency of lipstick super creamy. These you can smudge. You can't do that with a neocolor II.
Neocolors, are great if you want to activate with water. And they are smaller than a gel crayon.
When will the gelato video be I'm so looking forward to it I need all the help I can get a new coloring I'm new to being totally disabled and I have no friends and no one to talk to for advice so I appreciate any help and Jamie I just love your channel and everything you share you're a wonderful person for taking the time
Very soon. I hope within the next week. Or so.. Thanks so much hun, I appreciate the support! You are very sweet🥰
Those look to be very much like faber castell gelatos? I love those but I'd like to try some gel crayons as well! I love hearing your little one in the background! It always makes me smile! Thank you Jaimie! Tay safe💖
I will be doing another video on the gellatos, since they have a slight different consistency. But equally as fun. Thanks she like to join from time to time.
I had people tell me I color to dark they can't see my page. They tell me how to color . I need use alcohol markers
Don't ever let anyone tell you how to color. Just do you. And be the best you there is.
@@jamiescoloringlove thank you Jamie you are a sweet friend
I never used gel crayons Jamie.
They are alot of fun.
