Fun! Thank you. I'm so happy you made this. It was super helpful. If you put water on the paper first they mix wonderfully. You can control them a bit better too. (watercolors, inks, crayons) I think from seeing this I'll go for the King Arts.
No, I have not tried the Marabu. I did see a video Lindsay The Frugal Crafter did on all of her Art Crayons and she has those. She likes Marabu products but she said she feel more like kids gel crayons. But they are supposed to be Artist Quality I guess. She had not checked the lightfast rating or anything. But they look the same as the KingArt and I really like KingArt products. They have been good so far. I probably need to do an updated video.
@@tammycolorstoo thank you! I thought they looked like KingArt too! - I don't want the look to be glittery. There are so many out there now, but it is frustrating that I can't purchase them at local arts and crafts stores in town. Well, at least most of them.
I did realize that some time way after I posted the video. I might should try to do a new video and correct that. Sometimes my brain gets stuck on what it thinks it sees. I appreciate you reminding me. I had forgotten. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Tammy! I do not have any gel sticks but the King art look very inviting! I look forward to seeing how you use them. I would like to try them out with a stencil on a back ground. That's one thing i have collected a lot of and that's stencils!🙋🎃🍁
Thanks for this video. It was helpful. I have owned the shuttle art for quite a bit now and love using them dry with a blender brush. Even though I clearly have 48 colors those king art ones are still on my wish list lol. I have Gelatos as well but not gonna lie I have never used them. If u do some playing with them on a page during a video I will gladly follow along :)
Thank you! It’s nice to know someone else has the Shuttle Art gel sticks. I don’t see too many people with them. But I really do like them. I just need to get better about using them.
Thanks for the comparison. I think I'll buy the king art over shuttle art? Can you spray those with fixative when finished or does it dry? They look like they might be messy. I hope we get to see your cool ideas with gel sticks. Thanks so much!
It dries. So you should not need fixative. I just colored a whole CBN page with gel sticks. I have to post it on my Instagram still. I am a little behind.
I am looking to buy a gel crayon but i don't know what kind to get,i have never used any type of water crayon before, can someone give me some info please
I just got the US Art Supply Super Crayons yesterday for Christmas. Lots of great reviews and they are economical. If cost is not an issue, people tend to like the gelatos. Hope this helps.
Hello! My personal favorites are the Tim Holtz Distress crayons. I find that they have an amazing amount of pigment. Second favorite is KingArt Gel sticks. They work really well, dissolve pretty good with water and last you A long time. A lot of people really like the Silky Gel Crayons. But personally I have never used them.
New subscriber here🙂, thanks for the comparison video. I just got the Crayola Cream Sticks at Ollie’s for $8.00 and wondered if I got a good deal. Without a doubt, after watching the comparisons, I believe I did!! I may go back and get a few more to give as family gifts…we all love to craft.
Thank you for pointing out the crayola pearlescent ones…I’ve never seen those 🥰
They are pretty nice. I like them a lot. And they are easy to use.

Thank you! I do like the King Art quite I bit. I use them mort than the others.
I plan on buy the 24 set of Mr. Pen gel Crayons. I just heard about these last night!!! I'm so intrigued!!
Thanks for all of the comparisons! I'm trying to decide between King Art and Marabu art crayons shimmer. Have you tried those?

Good comparison! But Michael’s brand is Recollections not Reflections. People might get confused looking for Reflections.

Thanks for your information. I decided on the Kingart Gel Crayons. The reviews were mostly positive. I’ll let you know how it goes.
I really like them. I think I go to them most often. You can always message me on Instagram.
I do like the crayola pearlescebtb

Me too. I have a ton of stencils and I never think to use them. I might have to try using them with gel sticks. Good idea.
Interesting, thanks so much
I am not a professional. LOL. But I found it interesting to compare them all myself. I just need to use them more now.

I do love the Crayola cream sticks. I wish I had gotten a backup pack for myself. But you never know what Ollie’s will have. 😀
how does it differ to a paint stick?
I am not sure I am familiar with paint sticks. Can you give me an example?
Thanks for this
Use those little make up brushes that come in a set with the gel products, you will love it.
Thanks for the tip. I will do that. I have some extras I am not using.
King Art at Ross, 7$. Yeah.
You said “reflections”, but the box says “recollections.” Duh…
Yeh. Sometimes I just get the wrong word in my head for some reason.
