Is this an update that is released on all sync3 systems or is it just on 2020 cars
We got SYNC 3 in our 2016.75 Focus and it was the first version of it, 3.0, officially it only updates to 3.2 but there is a crack of the dealer upgrade tool that updates it to 3.4 and it is a hell of a lot quicker in starting up, loading nav, going between screens. A nice upgrade .

Two great features not mentioned with Sync 3. First, if you hold the voice button down you can access Siri or Google Assistant bypassing the in-built voice control. Secondly, CarPlay and Android Auto integration, means that all the icons will change in that bottom row and if you press maps it will go to Apple or Google Maps, same with the phone button. Plus Android Auto will send directions to the screen in the cluster. Best integration I’ve seen.

Do you know if you can use Maps.me through Apple CarPlay? I haven't even bothered trying CarPlay yet because the Sync 3 interface's navigation and music are good enough generally but I'm curious to see what the Apple interface is like
Yes! Infotainment is super important considering it's the only thing you interact with when you drive apart from driving itself. Although none of the current Ford lineup interest me it's good to know they have good system! Next up for review shouod be tbe FCA system

Totally agree , the GUI daytime colour palette it's not easy on the eyes and all that white it looks out of Place in that interior and by todays standards even a bit outdated.

I have a 2018 ford fiesta vignale and I don’t know how to set up ford pass connect or the traffic list for navigation so that it would tell me where was an accident or a congestion and re-route me

The one thing annoys me with the latest Ford Sync system and is such a let down is 'everything' is touchscreen. The tune knob is so redundant and should be used to scroll through the menus or radio channels. Honestly if there was a way to reprogramme the tune knob to use as a scroller through the infotainment, I would buy the latest Focus

Hey Paul love your reviews, quick question whilst playing music, do notifications still come up as in when there’s a red light camera or when you a navigating finding an address does it still mute the music momentarily before resuming?
Hey Aj. Thanks for the message and apologies for the late reply! Yes notifications still pop up if music is playing. We tried this recently using Waze and a pop-up appears at the bottom of the screen if you are using CarPlay. If you're not using CarPlay notifications only appear if the app is open from memory.

Thanks for sharing is it not possible to use CarPlay on my Ford Focus Titanium Edition 2020 Model as when I connect it to my car and unplug the apple usb cable I can only have CarPlay when it’s attached by the usb cable.
GREAT VIDEO, THANKS. THE CAR I HAVE AT THE MOMENT REQUIRES A CABLE TO CONNECT MY PHONE (ANDROID) TO SCREEN TO USE ANDROID AUTO, NOTHING BUT CONNECTION ISSUES. THE BLUETOOTH IS SO MUCH BETTER FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN.

Just with a cable unfortunately!

@@lucifersbean9017 Yes you can. You can connect over Bluetooth for calls and music, but that's driven by the user on the phone. You can only connect to CarPlay with a USB cable, at which point it can be driven by the user on screen.
Needs to be able to save favourite phone numbers on the screen somewhere! Is this an option I don’t know about? Just bought a ranger FX4 (first ford I’ve had)
Thanks Paul, great video. I have the SYNC3 on my 2019 Ecosport. Love the car but I keep on losing my GPS and the map goes crazy. Is there any adjustment I can do for this problem? Thanks again.
Pick up st line kuga last, same problem within a day! Dealer had it in, all fixed…..no started going crazy before I reached home. Going back, fed up

There is an "automatic" one yes!

SYNC does not allow you to use inbuilt navigation while using Android Auto/ CarPlay. Otherwise a great system.
Is this while your phone is plugged in with a cable? If you wanted to use inbuilt navigation and not the phone map apps - then you could just not plug your phone in for that time??? Thanks

It depends on the country. In Australia all Ford vehicles have Sync3 and smartphone mirroring technology.
So is it on all the new Fords ?
Most new Fords I believe. In fact, I can't really think of any Fords that now don't have the Sync3 infotainment system :-D

Got say I miss my Sync 3. Even if it was the older version. Kia did a good job in the stinger but miss voice control in the native infotainment system rank goodness for Android Auto
It’s surprising how good Sync3 is compared to the competitors. Despite how basic it looks, it’s very functional and usable!

Hi There....just picked up my FX4 Ford Ute and when I sync my phone through bluetooth it keeps saying iphone 2. Can I change this to my name as I would also like to blue tooth my husbands iphone as well
Can u change the Ambient lighting?
I don't think so! That may come as a model year change, but I don't think it can be changed at the moment.
Can somebody use a normal phone and actually show android auto ?

J'aime mieux ma voiture avec le Am Fm et le lecteur cd , pas de caméra de recul , ça l'aide à garder les muscles du cou actif !😁 je me souviens auparavant quand nous parlions d'espace de chargement ,de confort , de tenue de route et de puissance , c'était ce qui en faisais une bonne voiture !
