This is honestly the one thing holding me back in getting a bronco sport and looking at the competition, the screen is sluggish and outdated, there are way better options out there for the same price range. If we only could have a firmware update on the whole system when the new one is out.

It's most likely getting an upgrade when the 2025 models start to roll out but I doubt Ford would roll out a software update to existing owners

SYNC 4 Technology features Apple CarPlay or Android Auto WIRELESS compatibility, which allows you to easily access many of your phone apps while driving.

Sync3 gives you all of that while connected over USB but it's exciting that the next gen 2025 Bronco Sport will feature the Sync4 screen that's in the current gen Escape

If you connect USB C to USB C it also charges the phone.

SYNC 3 is horrendous... my parents are enraged they were not informed by the dealer how bad it was... the USB thing is ridiculous to them (and to me). They also weren't told they needed Homelink for having a garage door opener built in... first car in decades without that feature... To pay SO much and somehow be so underpowered?
Our GMC Denali from 4 years ago has a MUCH better infotainment screen... Don't be a scummy salesperson, if you're seeing this and its relevant to you... Don't take advantage of older folks!

The 2 screens aren't really that far off from one another from a usability perspective. Bigger graphics in the GMC lineup but similar features. As I showed off in the video you can connect over bluetooth to stream music or make phone calls but like the old Denali it is also wired CarPlay and Android Auto.
The sales rep should have asked more probing questions to figure out what you wanted.. but as a consumer it also falls on you to make sure you've researched the features you want and that the trim level you buy has what you're after. It's a $40k car not lunch at Subway...

@@CarsWithSteve the car was 50k and top level trim. they took advantage of 60+ year old folks and kept them from features they were not equipped to understand. and they had spent 3 months researching cars and testing.

Sync just looks old and outdated, Ford need to Jazz and clean it up and make it look fresh, I get it's functional, but boring.

Definitely not the most visually appealing but Ford's Sync4 is a good improvement but the next gen Ford OS based on Android Automotive OS is amazing. It's coming to the 2025 Explorer first and then will be rolled out over the next few years to the rest of the Ford lineup

People complaining about this software ha. Have you seen Subarus garbage tech 🤣. It is by far the most antiquated out there.

More of an observation than a complaint, I said it's functional but boring. This compared to Hyindai, Kia, the new Chevy Colorado it's pretty boring, having said that I just bought a 24 Bronco Sport OuterBanks only thing I use Sync 3 for is the seeing the temperature on the screen, everything else is ran through Android Auto.
