When Apple Car Play freezes up it’s because you have system wifi still on. If you’re driving away from your house turn it off and it should help Apple car play not freeze.

Good review. I’m glad it’s not just me who has problems with Sync 3 freezing. It only started doing it after I updated to Version 3, and tends to freeze when using maps and Spotify/Amazon Music, and like you say, 5/10 mins into a journey, annoyingly!

Have you ever experienced a "plastic" noise coming out from the inside of the screen? It happens when engine is at a low rpm or driving on rough roads ... I'm looking for some video where I can see how disassemble it, but I still haven't found ... The idea is to fill empty spaces with some soft material and avoid contact between plastic parts
Exited car during evening and locked. However, sync 3 screen and radio still lit up and playing. Checked 20 mins later and had turned off. Why this delay or surely a fault Minor query about USB por. At night the port behind the hand break appears to have luminous surround which would help to locate at night without having to put overhead light on. By contrast the port to the right and lurk above gear knob does not light up or appear to have luminous surround. On close inspection hard to see if surround has broken off or it is in fact an electrical problem.
Woohoo! Lowestoft! I recognize that John Grose Ford dealership! The Apps works with Android, you load Android Auto App on your phone and then can add compatible apps to it and they'll then show up on the car screen.
Like to watch your videos. But where you mention about downloading updates and maps via wifi…..if it was that easy, unfortunately not. I originally tried it over wifi never worked, tried downloading on to a memory stick twice still didn’t work tried both usb sockets in car still didn’t work updated sync 3 to 3.4 over wifi not a problem but as for maps not having any of it so just give up in the end…..any clues to why it’s not working would be much appreciated.
The home button location is a localization problem; they didn't take into account the ergonomics for LHD cars and just use the same version for all of them.
Little question. I noticed the software is generally brightly coloured, does it have a night time mode? If so can it be manually enabled at all times or not? One thing I hate about my current Fiesta is how bright it is at night. It can become annoying for long journeys.

In this, a small bit of the back of the car is out of frame and in both videos you walk out of frame and cut off your feet. If you want to be walking in the intro, maybe start from further back so you remain in frame. Anyway, I'm looking forward to more videos in the future. I'd be interested in one focusing on the different driving modes including so good quality exhaust clips and how it changes in the different modes.

JB CTR For now maybe, frame the car in the view finder and then put something on the ground just out of frame that gives you a visual queue of how far forward you can walk before going out of frame.

TheMrBlue Yeah, it’s possible. In CarPlay, the ‘Ford’ app icon takes you back to sync so you can use the radio. From sync, CarPlay replaces the ‘app’ icon in the bottom tab, so you can just flick between them. The radio will continue playing whilst you navigate through CarPlay unless you put on some other music source.

This huge mismatch on sound balance mate! You put bass all the way up, of course you wont feel any differences between stereo and surround. Your sound output lacks alignement.
What is the rear leg room like? Can you sit behind your seat in the normal driving position? (If so what is your height?) Sorry for the very specific question, not had a chance to check one out in person yet!
faisalleeds It’s not brilliant if I am honest. I’m just under 6ft and you can just about fit a small adult in the back behind me in my normal driving position. It’s alright for around town and short journeys but I wouldn’t want to subject anyone to any length of time in the back! The 5 door may be better, but I’ve not looked. The recaro’s are quite a lot chunkier than the standard seats which impedes on rear leg room.
Does it support carplay over wireless? Getting an iPhone Xs Max and don't want to have to plug the phone into the car, I have a wireless charger i'm hoping to set up!
On apps menu, on my Vignale shows FordPass and another app that shares your location with friends... But that's only that! Agree thats a waste of space! Android Auto works nicely such as Apple car play... And the messaging on Android works nicely too
Good video. I have new fiesta vignale and running sync 3 version 2.3 are you on? version 3.0 as Waze is supposed to be part of Ford app link. When phone is plugged in but disable Apple car play for this. Also what map version is running I’m on f16 think latest is f17 but tried OTA and nothing there yet.

Answer might be a bit late, but no I haven´t noticed Android auto freezing. One issue that I have is that sometimes it crashes when try to you connect it to the car, but I think it´s more down to your phone than Sync 3. Phone im using is Xperia XZ2 Compact.
Apparently if you go to apple car play disconnect blue tooth screendosent freeze up as much conflicts with hard wired and Bluetooth.Has not eliminated it on mine but better.
@@JBCTR Thanx man. Would you mind telling me how it works? I just got a MK8 1.0 ecoboost Titanium. The interiour looks exactly the same as yours( with sync3 radio) So I want to add tpms and activate it with Forscan. But I have no idea if it can work. Where do you see the read out of the tpms? PS , the video you did on the Revo tuning , EPIC video quality in 4k. Love it man !

Mobile apps mainly used for FordPass if you have it on your phone. My dealer made sure I installed it

Google Maps and Waze support coming in IOS 12 in September. Plus other 3rd party Apps. Will make Carplay a lot more useful for IOS users.
thats the reason i didnt even order mine with the navigation. i just use google maps with preloaded maps. works perfectly.

If you go to the Bluetooth settings on your iPhone and select sync and turn on show notifications your messages work

Unfortunately not. But the Siri voice is far less annoying than the Ford voice so that more than makes up for it 😂
