Tourette's syndrome is a neurological condition and disability which causes involuntary movements called tics. I use my platforms on social media such as TikTok, UA-cam and Instagram to advocate and raise awareness for the condition and show what it is like living with a disability as a teen in school.
My name is Zara Beth (zeezee25 on tiktok) and I post videos about tics, tic disorders and what its like to be a teen living with Tourette's syndrome, Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and a seizure disorder (NEAD/NES).
I show what its like having tics and Tourettes in class and in school and college, vlog, and I also bake, do other challenges and answer all your questions in Q and A videos.
I am also an ambulatory wheelchair user so I show what life looks like using various mobility aids and how needs change from day to day!
Having tics and being around people with tics can be both fun and dangerous 🤣 like we can all relate to each other but also we will trigger each other’s tics

I have Tourette’s and I pick tics up easily and most of my tics are from you 😂❤ I love your videos, and also when so you ticked, it triggered mine and let’s say we both went on for a while, echoing back and forth

This made me cry watching you say goodbye and hearing how it changed your life for the better zara. Super proud of you. My daughters are both autistic and I wish they could do things like this. Dont have tourettes but adhd and this made me realise that people with adhd can also get on a wave and make symptoms worse for eachother. Usually it is absolute chaos or zoning out etc. Anyway, interesting. You guys were having a blast i can tell. Probably also so nice if you dont need to mask it when you are with like minded people. Thats what i experienced as well.
I can’t imagine having my intrusive thoughts shouted out at inopportune moments in my life.

Zara you rock! Great videos. God I remember dealing with really obvious ticks when I was a kid and also into my young adulthood. I had this thing where I'd roll my eyes. It got me in so much trouble in school with teachers because they'd think I was being a total brat when I genuinely wasn't. I'm mid 40s now, and they have all gone, including the vocal ones, but I will never forget how they made me feel. I truly honor your videos and what you guys are doing. Truly amazing. Lots of love and light ❤

Looked like you had a blast. Question, did your tics get worse as you grew? My grandson was just diagnosed and I'm trying to learn as much as I can. I also think you are very brave to vlog about all the problems you have. I have MS but it is mostly invisible to other people unlike having tics.

I love this view of tourettes and what can cause it with just what one person can say or do to just trigger everyone's tourettes it shows how natural this disorder is with the simplicity of what just one thing or multiple things can do to trigger this wether it would be lights or sounds or physical stimulation, truly amazing content thank you for you guys being brave and showing this for everyone to see thank you. I love ur channel I have never seen anything like this before keep up the good work

I don’t have Tourettes but I think I would have had a blast with these folks. I recognize a lot of their tics in my own behaviour sometimes. I would always hope that they can see the positive side of themselves and realize that I have no idea of the struggles a Tourettes person has to deal with everyday. But ❤ to all of you.

It had to feel so good inside to just let life happen without worrying about being judged, which you shouldn't be to being with. Loved watching all the games and activities that they had for you. OMG ME 22 apart from the fact I got a tic from someone and now I can't help saying "bEaNs" 😂😂
I dont have tourettes but as a guy with ASD i tend to use echolalia and repettitve movements to help me cope with sensory overloads, including strange movements like rocking and just shooting my arms in the air. My mate with tourettes has ended up picking up on my lil shenannigans and when i get stuck in echolalia or like a repettitive movement we can go back and fourth for like 5 minutes saying the same bloody word or doing the same move. Its fantastic, halarious but can also be exhausting, especially for them. It can also lead to some situations where half our D&D sessions are just us insulting eachother XD
Of course i can stop because mine is voluntary but for me its more like an inside itch that cant be scratched just any way so in a way i cant help it but it does make me feel guilty when I trigger my mates tics. They said its ok though so i do ma thing :)
Same my stims resemble tics and sometimes copy other people's stims. I usually only do it alone or around people I'm really comfortable with. I don't tend to do it in public much unless I'm in the right company. They definitely aren't tics tho I know that
My tourettes used to be really bad back in middle and early highschool, i had verbal and motor tics and had a terible time in school. Im lucky in my family becuase ive mostly grown out of it, I almost never have verbal tics anymore and the nasal tics are hardly noticeable. The other day at work my buddy was asking me why I was sniffing and humming so much and told him i have tourettes and its funny because i hardly noticed i was doing it. Being with my family which most have tourettes goes a lot like how it did in your videos. When i see someones tics (even on video) it makes me more aware of mine which makes me more anxious which makes them happen more. Great video and im glad you all had a good time being with people that know how it goes and having a laugh about it.

What kind of seizure did you have on the boat? And those you talked about? How did everyone handle them?
when i say a seizure i mean a tonic clonic ❤️ i have multiple types but don’t usually count smaller seizures like partial or absence (but on the saturday night where my seizures were bad here, in between tonic clonics i was sort of in a partial seizure state and never really came out of it - so mentioned those in this circumstance!
