Tourette's syndrome is a neurological condition and disability which causes involuntary movements called tics. I use my platforms on social media such as TikTok, UA-cam and Instagram to advocate and raise awareness for the condition and show what it is like living with a disability as a teen in school.
My name is Zara Beth (zeezee25 on tiktok) and I post videos about tics, tic disorders and what its like to be a teen living with Tourette's syndrome, Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and a seizure disorder (NEAD/NES).
I show what its like having tics and Tourettes in class and in school and college, vlog, and I also bake, do other challenges and answer all your questions in Q and A videos.
I am also an ambulatory wheelchair user so I show what life looks like using various mobility aids and how needs change from day to day!
I am also a musician! My newest release is my first single (original song) called "She's Mine" which is now available on all streaming services - I sing and play piano, guitar, ukulele and I write, produce, mix and master all my own songs and content myself!
I was drawn to your channel because my name is Cara Beth, and I’ve never seen another name like mine! I live in the US, in the state of Arkansas. I have a traumatic brain injury that causes lots of neurological problems. I love how open you are about your illnesses. I love how young and enthusiastic your are. I think your art and jewelry is very beautiful. I’m looking forward to your charity shop haul videos.
I get blood tests alot , I always get it my hand cause I'm uncomfortable with people touching my arms, but yea they always struggle to find my veins aswell

Bro I hate when they have to go in my hands, and I expressed a deep fear about that, so they ended up having to do an ultrasound on my arm to even find a vein. The nurse that I had before pricked my arms so many times it was incredibly bruised 💀
@SeaweedBrqin it is actual needles I'm afraid
but im my experience you don't really feel it alot and its over before long depending on how much u need taken, I've had to get 3 vials taken before wich was unpleasant but it didn't really hurt just uncomfortable and sort of sweaty.
I'm 65, been having blood tests for various conditions for decades. I also have very narrow veins. I'm at the stage now where I can tell whoever is taking the blood that they have seven attempts... and then I WILL faint. I think they appreciate the warning, although I have seen a couple of young nurses go pale when I tell them. Loving your vids btw, you are throwing so much light on the whole subject and I am learning so much. Keep up the good work luv. Edited to add, 100% on the be hydrated for the vampires, at least half a pint of water before you go.

I stumbled upon one of your FND videos about seizures and faintings in class by accident and saw a little bit of your Tourette and tics videos too. I have a problem with my pressure, it's lower than the norm so faintings and pressure drops are part of my daily life since i was very young. So when i saw your thumbnail, i immediately was curious about it. I didn't know about FND, so i'm grateful for you and your channel to spread awareness about this. I suffer from mental illnesses and i have ADHD, so i always encourage mental health awareness video. After that, i fell in love with your upbeat and positive personality. We also have similar aesthetics, so when i saw your fashion sense, how you decorate your room and your art, i immediately was drawn! I've just had 2 saliva and a blood test for cortisol, suspected addisons disease. My veins are so bad I had to have my last test done via saliva because they couldn't get blood 😅 things like cortisol are hard because on one hand you want a reason for your symptoms, on the other hand you don't want that sort of diagnosis. Hope you get some answers soon

I want to ask a question so bad out of pure curiosity and learning. But I am scared of you or others thinking it's too inappropriate.
also, i hate putting on and taking off my converses too lol. mine are all black high top chucks. When I wear them I lace them all the way up and tie the laces. So when taking them off I have to unlace the top two holes every time. having to deal with lacing them every time is a pain. but they look so good and they feel good and i love them. so worth it.

Don’t worry! The nurse or doctor preforming the blood test is very experienced so it will probably be fine:)

I had a blood test before, and I blacked out actually that was my first time ever. I woke up idk how long it was but it felt like forever, but turns out it was for 5 minutes probably. My mother was with me and I woke up 3 nurses over me lifting my head up and I wanted to cry once I turned to my mother which was crying. That was the first time I fainted like that, she took my to the hospital and turns out it was actually bc of my heart I have something wrong with it and...I was so..scared I felt dizzy still and wanted to sleep or rest, my head felt heavy to hold up trust me-
I WANTED TO CRY SO BADLY-
but yeah I went to the hospital and I have problems with my heart and I am okay. Although I get dizziness at few times, I almost passed out again but I js fall back on my rear and yeah I am fine like afterwards? It feels so weird the feeling of dizziness feels so odd to ke because I never felt like that before and it is a whole new thing to me.

Hey Zara, There was only one commercial break around the 10 minute mark. I'm not a fan of commercials, but realize I'm watching UA-cam for free. I also know commercials are how you make money on YT. Why am I saying all of this? You need to add a commercial break every three minutes. Fans like you and wouldn't mind!!! Stay strong and always be yourself! Oh...the fixed mic is great. It makes you sound more vivid and crisp!

That happened to me when I got a blood test too, I was dehydrated and first time the girl poked she didn't get any blood then she poked my other arm and got blood.

Anemic? Even with proper water intake I would schedule blood tests apart so you don't damage a blood vain or vessel and create a blood clot, love the skin your in. Eating sunflower seeds have alot of iron maybe eating some before you get another test. Side note: nice job on the buttons. Laying a mirror 🪞 underneath the objects give off an awesome look as well

Question, does tics affect swallowing food? I don't have Tourettes but I do get hiccups a lot(Ik not the same thing) and when I swallow sometimes it scares me that I'll choke so I was wondering does it do the same for you? Or do the tics not happen when swallowing?

I HAAAAAATE blood tests! It hurts SOOOOOO much. I'm a very hard stick. My veins like to roll out of the way, and they will think they have it, and then they dig around with he needle inside my arm. And it's so freaking painful. Then they try on the other side and do the same thing. It's terrible! We need better ways for them to test this stuff!
