I have tourette syndrome myself and one of those sentences I used to say was: "Let's invade Germany."
Lets do this!
Me, a German: D:
Wait, that's illegal! 😁
I know a guy who had an infliction like that but it was "Let's Invade France"

The fact she had to wait until 27 for a diagnosis is horrifying

Why is it horrifying stop over sensationalizing
@@xwvr6656 it's horrifying because if she knew she had Tourettes at a young age she could have started living a happy full life from a more early age. She's so sweet and such an idol for her tough spirit tbh

well you can... She is a twitch streamer 👌🏾
I laughed so hard at "so he was a champ".
She has a great attitude and I am sure it took a lot to get to that.
It's always funny how those who suffer the most end up developing such a wonderful attitude towards everything. It brings a really great appreciation to all of the good things in life. I believe that behind every good person is great pain whether they ever show it or not.
Imagine being a qualified professional and telling a child they’re attention seeking when they have Tourette’s
The medical profession is full of absolute wastes of a degree, I really don't understand how it happens
There are more moronic psychiatrists than most people on earth
As person fresh after medical studies I can say that a lot of doctors have good knowledge ONLY in single field of medicine. Especially older doctors
Many doctors lose their focus, passion and purpose once they hit the field. I’ve met doctors who clearly don’t give a crap about the well being of their patients. The same happens in other “high morality” fields like law.

Let's be honest, this woman is FAR more well socially adjusted than the majority of people on Twitch.
Which isn't saying much, but yeah, true.
Haha. Damn called that one fo sho.
Majority? Nah. Just loud kids
because going through tough shit and being alone humbling yourself makes you a better person, rather than looking for others assholes that are just the same as the rest of crappy streamers

What a well spoken, sweet, articulate woman. When she said she wasn't ashamed of self harming in the past because she got through it and survived it, it really resonated with me. I wish her every single blessing and a life filled with happiness
I really love sweet Anita for the fact she is so open and honest about her experience with tics. I have Tourette’s and my entire life I have been told it wasn’t real and that I was faking and being attention seeking. She really inspired me to love myself for who I am. ❤❤❤❤

I can't believe they didn't diagnose her until she was 27. What an utter, disastrous failing of our medical system.
Somtimes it's better alot of teens are diagnosed with bi polar disorder when they are just emotional, being bi polar affects your life but when it's on paper when you dont have it then it's more fucked up
She's from the UK
Yeah, UK medical system is terrible. Doctors in the US wouldn’t let this go undiagnosed for so long
@@MDbaseball3 they’re not terrible it’s free health care you can’t complain about something you don’t pay for
The attention seeking thing is a huge problem for a lot of young people, especially young women. Unfortunately the roots of medicine as it is now practiced are in the years of “hysteria” as a diagnosis and those unconscious biases haven’t been eradicated yet, not even close.
Re: UK vs USA, this is a problem in both countries (and also in Europe and Canada and likely nigh on everywhere else) but at least in the UK they don’t charge you for the privilege of being gaslighted about your body, and your income isn’t a barrier for getting to see appropriate specialists.

I was also only diagnosed when I was 27 or so. I grew up with really intrusive vocal ticks and eventually learnt to handle it by training myself into non vocal ticks that were not obvious to people around me. Being diagnosed was an incredible relief not because it opened the door to treatment, but because it explained why it was happening
Interesting u were able to train yourself to change the tick..wonder if you can try it away entirely
Well done regardless mate!
@@someguy-ty1fg unfortunately not. I found I could redirect the tics, but I had to do something, otherwise I reverted to the tic I was trying to stop.
As a neurologist and a young woman I find this interview endlessly fascinating. She’s so relatable and so well able to express her experience. The tics are so complex and, 2:47 min into the video, somehow super cute. I’ve seen a number of tics, some involving a risk of self-harm, and find her tics very endearing somehow. I hope it’s ok to express that here because I could never tell a patient her tics are cute, obviously! I didn’t think that adjective could be applied to complex tics…
She's a streamer and people constantly say her tics are cute, and i don't think she minds.
Better that people find her tics cute than offensive.
I'm sorry ma'am, but I have tourettes and it's not cute. I wish people would stop saying it is, I'm sorry to say this, but it isn't a compliment and it doens't make me us feel better, only worse. Because it's really painful. It's not nice or cute to have no control of your body. I was and still do get mocked, scolded, shouted, joked about, and insulted by my very own family. This is isn't easy, so people saying it's "cute" is not... not really a good thing to hear.

Your problem, that you can't control… is for attention seeking.
Thats tough because u know ur not but they just brand u as an attention seeker. Some doctors dont pay attention to anything because my brother almost died because of a urine infection and the doctor said he just had a cold and called my mum a crazy mother
I dont think a psychologist or psychiatrist would only check for psychosis. Was probably a GP with limited psychiatric training. Knowledge of Tourettes is widespread among professionals in psychiatry.

@Calamity unfortunately a lot of places have sociopaths like that with teachers and many others just being bystanders. Their excuse is always "it's just kids". My friend was put in hospital because some girls perceived her as weird when she was in middle school. as a boy with Tourette's, this video makes me unbelievably happy not only because I'm able to relate to it with passion, but because it lets me know that there are other people out there that struggle with this disorder. I was diagnosed with it at around 7 or 8 years old and all I can say is that making friends and socializing is incredibly difficult. Every person I have met that has this disorder is the most kind hearted, understanding person you'll ever meet. I think that's because they've been so hurt and mistreated by people and don't want to inflict that on others and that doesn't just apply for Tourette's. Omg, you beautiful person. This was so validating to hear someone talk about living with Tourettes. I've never been diagnosed but have had motor tics and throat tics for as long as I can remember. Growing up they always made things awkward. To hear you talk about your experiences and watch you tic as you do it, I just can't express how good it feels to watch it be acknowledged and at the same time ignored. As an adult in an office job, I always feel like I need to keep my tics under control and make them as unnoticeable as possible, so people won't think I'm weird.
On a side note, I am sorry your Tourettes involves coprolalia, and that you felt like you couldn't live until your very overdue diagnosis. I don't envy that form of Tourettes. Despite her condition, she has a very soft, clear and pleasant voice. She comes over as intelligent and well spoken and I can definitely imagine a voice like hers in narration like audiobooks, voice acting, that kinda stuff.
Agreed! And to be honest, it would be all the better without editing of tics. Keeping the originality of her character would be vital.
But with occasional swears at the listener in between.
I think it's because she has to think a lot about what she's saying, so she's much more careful with words and what she's saying than the average person
I also thought this, I follow her channel too.

What an amazing young lady, claiming back her life and all by herself, she's an inspiration to many suffering the condition. I'm a CBT therapist, to hear a child went through many years being labeled as attention seeking is wrong! I loved how Anita addressed it herself with the medical field, well done!. As for the whistle and the winks/pop sounds, these are so cute, I loved her funny stories, truly impressive intelligent lady, thank you for sharing.
Oh my god, Thank you so much for speaking of this. I'm glad people will realize how hard this is for people who have Tourette's. I myself actually have it however I got it when I was 8 I'm almost 19 now and still have it. I have physical and verbal ticks usually being twitching and face Tourette's and and I'm so sorry for you. It's tough considering how many people don't fully understand it. And the overwatch story of push to talk is exactly what I did to cope with it, It's almost funny how much this hits home for me. Thank you so much for this @LADbible TV and Anita for sharing this. Let us both have best of luck in the future. And lastly I wish I could of seen this sooner in my feed UA-cam. Thank you.
If people are wondering why she isn't ticking that much, before: she explained how she ticks less when she's being serious in what she has to say such as this topic
@@SamFreedom Tourettes becomes pretty complex when going into that territory. Normally a tick wont hurt anybody around you but that is just way to stereotypical to state i think.. i dont know. however i do not know what the person above means with "ticks are contrallable" thats kind of laughable and disgustingly ignorant
Not when she's "being serious," but when she's focused on something.
@@gonzarellious6102 Plausible. I don't have Tourette's, but had my share of tics (not ticks, LOL, only ever had one of those and didn't contract anything luckily). And I still have a meandering mind, IF I'm not focused on something.
@@saurabhcent211 Tics are not controllable and saying it is misinforms people. You can never control a tic. Many people with tourettes may tic less during doing something that requires concentration, but it's never controllable. Doing things that won't trigger a tic doesn't mean you can control it.
@@unbenanntunbekannt I have TS. Telling you from my own experience. It differs in every individual. Some People have vocal tics some have motor tics, some have severe tics where it affects their day to day working, some have mild tics. Mine is mild and controllable when i try to. My tics come all the time, even when focused, but if i think about them and try to control them I can control them. It does not affect my day to day working. Except sometimes feeling bad when people unknowingly make fun of me. And also tics can change over time. When I was a kid i used to have vocal tics. I would make wierd noises in class and kids would laugh at me. Luckily they went away. Now I have motor tics and breathing tics.
Lmao she’s fucking hilarious and completely adorable.
Simp
@@markusdead96 The "simp" thing is fucking stupid. It's basically the adult version of "cooties".
@@Thisisahandle701 look up the definition of simp and say it's cooties again lmao if you going to try and roast somebody at least make sure you know what the hell you're talking about
@@Thisisahandle701 such a modern millennial term.
@@zerotheotaku8169 imagine using a term like " simp" in your daily routine and getting angry with others because they dont know it... so fucking sad bro
I find Anita so inspiring as she sets an example of how to come to terms with who you are without feeling the need to change. I don't have Tourette's, but I do have Aspergers (high functioning autism) and I've often struggled with awkward speech and movements and I've been told it makes people feel uncomfortable, so in that way, I feel like I can kinda relate. I hope she keeps going on and speaking out about her condition.
Thank you, my 10 year old son has tics since 6 years old. He is so friendly with everyone and everyone loves him. But me and my wife still felt that heart ache and guilt when we watch him having those tics. Like we failed him. I know it's silly to think like that. And my son is so strong and living his life to the fullest. Maybe we all have to learn to live with it as life goes on.
Is it strange that I like her tics? I know it’s involuntary and that they almost feel an urge but for her to whistle that clearly so quickly is incredible.
@Armathy Actually she has a video where she talks about people laughing at her tics and she said she doesn't mind. Given what kinds of reactions she's dealt with over her life in response to tics, finding a specific tic funny is probably more relieving to her
I found her a few minutes ago and I literally thought she was doing this only to sound cute. A few videos later, I found out that it's a disability and now I kinda feel guilty for enjoying all those videos of her.
Yeah you probably wouldn't like them as much if she wasn't so good-looking...let's be honest here.

You also being quite attractive could be difficult at times.
What a crazy condition that you seem to do really good with now.
I searched this because I went into a cigarette store where older Asian man yelled at me while I purchased smoke.I got concerned that he might call police on me.He seemed very mad or obset at me.Well,he didn't and I kind of figured out what he was doing.
It only took a day to do.
