From what I know of the story of this song, when Amy Lee was about 12, she had a younger sister that she was very close to, that she loved deeply, her sister died. Apparently Amy was the loving doting big sister who really took care of her younger sister. When her sister passed away at about age 9, Amy 's soul was just ripped apart, she never really got over it...."though you're still with me, I've been alone for so long"
It's not about a break-up, it's about losing a loved one. Notice she never touches the ground, that's because she died and her spirit cannot "cross over" because her loved one won't move on from her passing. One of the saddest songs ever written.

Ben wrote the song, not Amy. It was for his grandfather, who passed.
Yeah she's passed in this video and though the words are coming from her it's the thoughts in the guys head that she's singing. Like someone else said her feet never touch the ground so she's an angel or spirit or something.
Angelic voice....anyone who has ever felt emotional pain will have some eye sweating.
This song made me cry first hearing it! I always think of my grandfather and my friend Jamie
Thank you fam!!!!
Always!🤟🏾🤟🏾
She has one of the most beautiful voices
This song will forever be in the top 5 of female vocal performanes... She blasted this out of the park... Amy Lee has the voice of a 1000 angels...
This is beyond dope. I am in tears. Love, more of her please . She's wonderful, the feels are real for both ways it's even true for when your together but for some reason your not connecting in a way you feel present to one another. Thanks for the beautiful reaction.
It’s things like this song is true art when it can translate in different ways depending on how the consumer takes it.🖤
This song makes me cry every time. It's a song told from the point of view of a woman that loved a man and died young.
By the time she says tears, I'm in tears
When Amy was 6 years old, her little sister, who was 3, died suddenly. The song is about her little sister.
Not this song
Yaaaaaaas!!!!! Her voice is so captivating
Get well you two lovebirds. Looking to see much more of you in 2021.
Voice of an angel, hauntingly beautiful incredible voice & a beautiful lady as well.
New subscriber , you both have full of energy & seem like really caring people & I enjoy the music reactions 💯👌👍😃
Good vibes baby! Lol
Another great one I still love amy
This young lady was from Arkansas. Saw here in Little Rock before she became known. No one ever been like her. Sound of an angel.
Her voice is hauntingly beautiful. Her strength is in getting you to feel her pain and torment. I've always loved her voice. If I could have one wish it would be to hear a duet of Amy and Floor Jansen of Nightwish.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Evanescence ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ she wrote this song for her sister who died when she was little
No that one was Hello. This was written by her and Ben Moody (the guy playing the piano). Beautiful song, even after all of this time.
No.
@@karenglenn6707 YES!! that’s my bad, you’re right
this song is actually about Amy, written by Ben.
Another good one by her is "Bring Me To Life".
This lady can sing anything. I was watching a bluegrass music program on PBS with my father a few years ago and all of a sudden she comes out to sing with the other performers. I told my dad hey, she's a great singer. Don't think he believed me but by the songs end he was convinced.
Grief comes in many forms…I think ultimately, the song is about grief.
A couple of my favorites by them "going under" and "everybody's fool"
Yes!! Another personal favorite of mine is Good Enough.
Ok.....now that is a real pretty woman. Beautiful voice.
2 years ago (last monday exactly) my girlfriend passed away, by kidneydisease and i still miss her. She knew that she would not make it and short before she passed she said that she wanted me to get happy again. That is still not easy, but i still feel her and she will be forever in my heart! 🙏❤ Lovely reaction from you 2
I think this song brings many people to tears because it hits at the deep emotional connection between two thru out their lives that even death cannot separate.
This was the song used in the movie "Electra", (Jennifer Garner) when her father was killed.
Close, it's actually the film Daredevil.
@@keeanhobson9282 oh, was it?? My bad lol.
*Yes. It's about someone that passed...my immortal. ...but It speaks to me in the sense that i broke up with someone a looong time ago(3 years) and he still has all of ne💔! GREAT REACTION! ❤*
Every time I hear this song, I think of my beloved daughter-in-law who passed away at just 19...it always makes me cry.
I liken it to my own personal situation : in my case - someone I love was deported- he was forced to leave me behind along with his child , and although he was gone (he was still with me all along- (in his son ) 17 years have gone by and I still feel it when I hear this song ... - great song ...
Can't believe y'all have never heard this song
We can’t neither! (Jai)
And yea Amy Lee was my teenage heart throb. Beautiful and can sing.
Amy's voice is from heaven....
Period.
My daughter lost her best friend during a very trying time in her friend's life. Then? This song came out.
Do “call me when you’re sober” and “ lithium” her voice is angelic!!
A voice that can cut! I've never been able to hear this and not have tears in my eyes. And I can be a right stroppy fxcker. but this just melts me.
Her voice is beautiful and haunting the way she hits u right in the feels man
I remember my dad playing this song to me when I was little and it’s been a while since I heard it but this made my day! I hope y’all have a great 2021 and stay safe❤️
It's 0307hrs in Hertfordshire, England. Can't sleep, got work in under 3hrs. Having binned off loads of my subscriptions because they were negative or I didn't bother watching them, you guys are one of the few.
I've only been a subscriber for a couple of days, Bill Burr got me here. Thank you Bill/UA-cam algorithm because you guys make my heart sing and give me hope for 2021. You are such a wonderful, positive couple, thank you. We need more positivity.
I'd suggest you guys look at Micky Flanagan for comedy, he is from where my family are and he embodies the ruthlessness of them. As far as songs go, Bon Jovi Mtv Awards 1989 Living on a Prayer/Wanted Dead or Alive is where MTV Unplugged was born and then Pearl Jam - Black Unplugged for the pinnacle in my opinion. Such power and emotion.
Thank you guys for making me smile and feel that all is not lost before we hit 2021.
Be excellent to each other.
yess im from hertfordshire too !
I use to be an emt. In 2016 while transporting a patient we got in a bad wreck on Interstate 695 outside Baltimore MD. My driver hit a pickup than I watched the semi behind us hit us. I thought I was dead and would never see my wife or kid again (have 2 now). This song now has a different meaning. I will neither be mentally or physically same again. I cry every time now.
You can tell she is speechless and loves her voice..
Thank you, ya'll have a Happy and Blessed New Year
Nice head gear fam especially the NY hat i like this song and her voice it's beautiful makes you feel things🔥🎶🔥
this song is about the death of a loved one. It was rumored that Amy Lee wrote this song about a former boyfriend who struggled with cancer.
Her voice captures you and pulls you in so you're attentive to her words.
Could be a break up or a loss.......definitely makes you think.
Awwwwe....you two crack me up.
I'm happy to have found you both. Enjoy you a lot.
do you know that the video was filmed in Barcelona, Catalonia? 😀
I didn’t! I remember loving this song when it came out way too long ago when i was...”cool” and young.... now I’m “old” (I’m 30 in a couple weeks. and my 8-year-old son calls that old Imao) and lame..... but this has always been one of those songs I’ll always like and remember. It was super awesome to see someone react to this after all these years!
***If you guys take reaction requests, I have a song that I’ve been incessantly commenting to people for SO LONG and nobody has done it. It’s a completely different genre, but still amazing. Awesome beats. It’s got a crazy story and 3 beat changes throughout the whole song that change with the intensity of the lyrics. I’ll just leave it at the bottom of this comment in hopes you both may react to it😊).
Murs - Walk Like a Man
Could be anywhere in Spain or Italy
And?
Italia near napoli
This is in barcelona, i was there 2 years ago
You got to listen to broken by seether. She signs with her boyfriend at the time. Great song
I SAW Y'ALL GOT MORE REQUESTS FOR "MY IMMORTAL". YES, IT'S A BEAUTIFUL SONG; I KARAOKED IT ONCE. 🤗 BUT PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO REACT TO PARAMORE'S "DECODE". THE DRUMS HALF, YOU CAN'T RESIST THE DRUMS!!! 🥁🥁🥁
Definitely react to decode
Omg yes! The mtv live unplugged version🙌
@@Jennifer_615 No, not the live version. It's too soft. He's not going crazy on the drums like in the video. Half has got to see the video.
@@portraitsofjudah they need to watch both🤣
Evanescence does a great cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain”
It always makes me cry. 16 years with the last 10 being his downhill slide we started together. Almost 7 years without him and it hurts every day. I miss him every moment. Till death did we part and beyond.
Thank you Zopiclone for being here.
Chase away the demons.
Beautiful.
💔
Amy Lee has the sexiest eyes I have ever seen! Check out Broken by Seether with Amy Lee
Y’all need to check out some

“Numb”
“One step closer”
This is about loving someone so much that has died and you can't let them go.
I love this song and appreciate it much more now than I did back when it first came out. Really beautiful voice on her.
I love this song haven't heard it in awhile, you should do Kelly Clarkson Piece by Piece american idol finally
Shes talking about her sister she lost to suicide when she was young.
No. Amy’s sister Bonnie died at 3 years old when Amy was 6. It was an illness, not a suicide.
Lung disease not suicide
Not a suicide and not this song
A very sad song most can relate when one passes and they still haunt you to this very day.. Tears....
she is singing about her little sister who she lost young due to childhood disease. epic. And SHE is a beautiful person in and out
I agree.
Time to take your trip down the rabbit hole with Nightwish "Ghost Love Score" or Within Temptation " Paradise" duet with Tarja (original Nightwish singer) or "And We Run" duet with Xzibit.
lol all the white people in the comments came out of nowhere
I get the chills everytime I hear this song.
brings a little tear to my eyes every time i hear it
