I think people don't realize that there are 2 Separate "Maine's"? I Live in York County, and the deer are literally everywhere. Although, most of that land is Posted, or inaccessible. I prefer, the Northern areas. My father taught me to be a "Woodsman", just as much as he taught me to be a Hunter. I prefer the Tougher areas, to the shooting gallery down here. I've hunted from Aziscohos to Danforth, to Coburn Gore! I'll take seeing one Good deer, versus taking anything that walks by down here! Congrats Mark! Again, feel like I'm at Dad's kitchen table! You guys are Great! Thank you for what you do. And Paul, Don't take these times with your pops for granted!! Good Luck!
When I joined the Navy in 1986 I was stationed in Florida for many years, no snow there. I learned to just sit in a tree stand, never got a deer. In my last station in Brunswick, 2003-2006 I got a deer in 2004 (doe) walking on a tote road and 2006 (buck) from a elevated stand. Stinks without snow.
Great conversation! Congrats Mark! Great Buck! Paul you are next
Thanks! It was a good week!
