Dr Liu, I’d love it if you would give us your daily/weekly food plan!! It would be so helpful to see how you fit all the foods and nutrients you recommend into your meals, snacks and recipes. Love your content!! Thank you!!
I would like to thank you Dr. I only wish that they would teach this information in school for health. It’s been many years since I’ve been out of school over 50 but I find you so educational. This is so wonderful wonderful that you teach us what is going on in our body? I can’t thank you enough. I cannot watch your videos enough and I appreciate you
One minute in the microwave for one full head of garlic with head sliced open and a few drops of spicy oil if you wish.... Place on plate, with domed bowl over it ....... leave to soften. Energy efficient, and easy to slip out of skins onto plate.
I take notes i just started to follow and am al ready learning hace high cholesterol high sugar arthritic on my kness neck! Am 65 i do exersice but thank u fir teaching me how to eat and recepies! Plus brands to look for you are amazing love you
Thank you so much for your wonderful videos. I have been following your suggestions for a few months now as I have just had breast cancer and am on anastrozol (since mid April) which as you would know can make your cholesterol high. My cholesterol was already on the higher side 6.2 (don't know what that equates to in US as I'm in Australia). Good news is since following you suggestions not only for cholesterol but anti inflammlation and breast cancer my cholesterol is now 4.8 which it hasn't been since pre menapause. Thank you so much. Why don't other Drs follow your recommentations. My Cardiologist wanted me to go on statins which I refused to do. Thank you again.
Thanks for the vote of confidence. If you are interested in recipes, here’s a link to a free weekly email I send with some of my recipes: nacproplus.com
I LOVE your videos. So much information -- I have to listen several times to get everything I want. More handouts would be very helpful. Also, when I get really excited about something you've said and want to share it, a handout would be most convenient. You have helped me enormously. Thanks so much.
I am confused by your reference to Firmicutes bacteria. This is a group which includes Lactic Acid Bacteria, e.g. Lactobacillus, which is regarded as beneficial to humans. Would you mind clarifying this a bit?
CT Angio is WAY better. I think docs don’t recommend b/c you can't do anything with it (not a valid excuse IMO). I inherited the high LP(a) and APO b. working on metabolic health. keep inflammation to it's lowest!!
Anything the Government say to eat i just do the opposite. I recommend reading “Health and Beauty Mastery” by Julian Bannett that book is a real eye opener about shocking stuff health industry is doing! I completely changed my habits
I'm 76 years old and have had high cholesterol(180 to 200) since I checked 25 years ago. I eat real food, seldom drink alcohol, and eat dry beans, lentils, etc. My blood pressure is normal, and I have never had blood sugar issues. My body weight is normal, and I refuse to take Statins. Once or twice, I eat a dark chocolate Cake (no sponge)or real cheesecake.By the way I eat all the good food you mention for a long time
I am 76 female and have had a 265 cholesterol forever. I have a 65 HDL which is good and I had a "vertical atheroprofile" performed which showed my LDL to be composed of buoyant molecules and NOT dense ones. This is why I never went on statins, my cardiac imaging tests show zero plaque. So, since you are 76 and have no issues and your cholesterol level is OK, do not worry. The test above was called a VAP test but I have been out of the US for 15 years so I am not sure of it offered anymore. I asked my Thai doctor to order all the i,aging tests but over here they are cheap. Not sure if Medicare pays for them in US, but I got peace of mind when the tests proved what I always believed despite a high cholesterol. Eat whole foods, avoid junk foods, and exercise...you will be fine!
Cream of Broccoli is my favorite soup , maybe the Sulforofanes released make it taste so good , but not Brussels sprouts , too strong of a sulfur taste , and will try less Brussels with Carrots ... The Resistant Starch hypothesis is challenged by many health practitioners & dietitians as not definitely proven by scientific research. Before applying in my meals options I wait for more solid evidence of existence of Resistant Starch ...not residents starch ...😂
It is so complicated for regular person to follow you. If you could explain 0:09 less in sophisticated words . What you explain is good for dr but not for ordinary people to understand
My cholesterol was never above 150. My ldl never above 70. My arteries imaged clear. I added a handful of nuts. My lipid numbers did not change. I developed atherosclerosis in 10 years of nuts.
Cholesterol is not the devil. Blood vessel inflammation is the root cause of plaque development. Lack of vitamins and minerals combined with inflammatory foods is what create the damaged blood vessel that starts the process of atherosclerosis.
You are proof that atherosclerosis is not always related to a high cholesterol...it is your genes. Follow Dr. Liu's advice to eat whole foods. Good luck
@@sherrimcconnell936 In my case, my (a)lipoprotein was 220, but once I started cholesterol medicine, it went up to 340. My heart doctor said that would happen which really upset me. he said there’s nothing I can do about it. It’s genetics, but I don’t understand why starting a statin made it go up more. He couldn’t Explain it to me he just kept saying it’s my genetics. I’ve Never been much of a meat eater. I’ve always tried to do low fat and grilled chicken. Some people on UA-cam say I should do plant base diet. But then I hear other doctor saying not to eat so many carbs. Keep it around 30 to 60 a day which is really hard. I don’t know what to do. It made me wanna eat whatever I want to eat. Did your doctor recommend anything for you to do? Thanks 🙏 😊Christy
Having seen ten year olds killed by accidents and on autopsy their arteries are clogged from years of fast foods! Yes, the parents admitted it once they knew their child had such a condition. Unlikely the child would live past 30 with such arteries and obesity as well. So certain humans with cholesterol levels twice the upper limit of normal have issues because the lipoproteins are too high. If you have a chance, stop by and visit a local pathologist and ask to see a cross section of a clogged artery. You will see the waxy buildup of cholesterol plaque. Yes, we NEED cholesterol to build our hormones, and low cholesterol is very bad. Lipoproteins are the issue and they make up part of cholesterol plaque.
How could this be accurate that your blood pressure 3 to 5 times more force then category 5 hurricane. How are you measuring that by wind or rain. What proof do you have that you can state this. If this was true, your blood vessels would not be able to handle all of the blood. I dont like this illustration cause it is very vague and not a good comparison. How can you compare a hurricane to a blood vessel. I dont like the dis information you are sending to try to sell your advice and scare people. This is not an accurate example for people living with high blood pressure and you trying to deal with practical solutions Not a fabricated story of comparing your blood vessels to a hurricane. I dont appreciate this condfusing statement that you made. Your post is very confusing and not syayed in clear terms. Please try to simplify with understandable language for the common man. What are your qualifications to make such a bold statement. You have upset me and i am going to talk to my cardiologist to check this exageraterd claim. You should be trying to help people not scare them by stating your blood vesse3ls are worese then hurricanes. thanks Jim

Ask your primary doctor for a referral to see an Endocrinologist. That specialist will test Lp(a). Also look for a Lipidologist.

Super pooper, lol. That made my day. 🙂

Increase your fruit and Fiber powder intake.
Try getting a Registered Dietitian and he or she will direct you about you Lipid panel.
Psyllium hush
Are veggie burgers considered ultra processed?
Depends on the ingredients.
Not if you're using non GMO and clean foods
Make your own and they will be healthier. Factory made veggie burgers have preservatives and maybe excess sodium
