I’m proud of you for home schooling your children !!! I hope the best for you and your family . With outlook that you and your wife have, there’s no doubt that you will be successful !! I pray that the Lord blesses you and your family with great health and safety !!!!
I wish you and your wife all the best as you join a growing group of home schooling, full time Rving young families. I just subscribed to your channel. I am also going to subscribe to your RV travels channel. My wife and I are 3 year rookies as RVing and I am a DIY woodworker. I am looking forward to learn how you put all this together. I admire your courage.
You’re a good DAD taking your son to do the everyday chores you do. That’s what I did with my three boys. My mom said when I was growing up I’d follow my Dad about like a puppy, Hense dad taught me everything with his hands…
Please keep making videos!! I started to get into woodworking after watching the night stand video! I have now made the night stands and planters (both). You are the best UA-camr at walking through beginners for woodworking projects. We will keep watching the videos and supporting you!!
Congratulations! You will never regret doing this. I live in verona ny. My wife and I have traveled a lot. Our next move will be Tenn or Florida. Spend at least 6 to12 month where you think you want to live before you pull the trigger. I also love wood working . You are living the dream sir no regrets . Rv people are a friendly bunch. North pointe RV resort campground is on rd 95 in Selma North Carolina we stay there every time we head south. Clean easy in and out. Very safe area restaurant s and stores near by. I admire your courage, can’t wait for upcoming stories. 🇺🇸🌅⚓️
Love it. So excited for you guys. I also homeschool my son and believe life skills will get him further in life than what schools teach these days. We've done 47 states in 4 years. He just started his own Little Wonder Woodworks on fb.
I think it's the best thing you can do now of days with your kids. Enjoy life ,make your our path in life. Life is way to short to worry about what people have to say.
Wow, you are way more daring than I am! If your wife is down with this than you’re kids will be just fine and have a few stories to last the rest of their lives. Look forward to more videos on your journey.
Brady a do think u are nuts but a commend you for it. Think your idea of beginner build/smalls is a great idea. I have 3 young kids 1 in public school and 2 who don't talk and were considering home schooling them. 🏴👍
I think it’s an amazing idea. My wife and I have been discussing traveling as well. I can’t wait to see the projects and see different scenery in the back drops. Good luck brother
Very brave to take such a big step. You're right that a lot of time in school is wasted, but please don't forget that kids in school learn the important skills of how to interact with other people and hopefully to assess their character. Schooling isn't just about learning a trade, it's about becoming an intellectually and emotionally well-rounded person.
I admire you and your family for doing this. In fact, I am rather envious. I've thought about doing the same for many years, but I am now almost seventy and my children are moving back to be near me, which is really nice. This doesn't mean that I will stop doing new things and learning new skills, but now I hope to include my sons. I'm hoping for new adventures all the time. You should be proud of giving your family new experiences. It's a kind of knowledge many, if not most, people never get and have no clue what it could mean to their lives. I was a military brat and followed that by enlisting myself, then marrying a military member, while I separated to raise my children. So, I moved frequently for a large portion of my life and it happened to be the formative years, the most influential years. Your children may have that to look forward to. Well, this is much more than I expected to say, but I wanted to wish you and your family much luck, good experiences, and lots of adventure.
Just getting into woodworking. Battery operated. Mobile is what a friend has been talking about and for me mobile is just a place to take tool for a few hours to few days . Out of garage into yard or from house to house. Very interested in seeing where u go with this
Crazy... Hell No... You are spot on. I am glad to see someone make a gutsy move for the sake of their children. More like inspiring. I am proud of you for making the right move. I wish you and your family the best. Love your videos BTW.
If you are able to teach your kids the fundamentals (they need math, literature, history, etc) then homeschooling is fine. If all you are going to do is prepare them for trade skills, you are making the choice for them that that is all they are going to be set up to do. Homeschooling isn't bad (I was homeschooled for a year by my mother who had a degree in education) but you need to prepare your children for whatever future THEY want. Not just the future you want them to have (career wise). Good luck and I wish you the best!!
I camp allot and a armature woodworker. A transportable chair 2 board keyhole chair or folding chair for RV camping would go with your new theme and be simple. Make camping in RV park something different than a bag chair. Looking forward to see what you do want to be a full time RV'r when I retire but not having a shop is a concern.
Good luck. As an ole timer (78) I understand your issues with school. I respect your decision to home school. I would not have my kids in public school. The Amish send their kids to 8th grade in their own schools then they learn in the home or the farm. It seems that our schools in the 50s and 60s were the best. The teachers were great.
Appreciate the words of encouragement William. I do not really watch the news anymore but from what little I've seen and heard even from my old teachers when I was in school. That has been enough for our decision to home school. Thanks again!
Not crazy at all! My wife and I found a property in Florida last year that we couldn't pass up. Huge barn for a shop and a few acres to homestead, also going the home education route! Keep crushing it!
Sounds pretty cool living the way you and your family wants to live on the road. You seem like you have a great family. That’s the problem these days with everyone (leaders of the country) telling us what we should do and learn in schools for the kids. Congrats and sounds like a great choice. You are a great man.
My wife and I decided to homeschool a few years back. The one on one teaching environment has allowed my daughters to thrive. My daughter started reading novels at four years old. Student teacher ratio is key. I just subscribed to your channel. Thank you for your great content!
Good luck to you man I’ve learned a lot from your channel so I have a ton of respect for what you’re doing! Look forward to seeing more. Praying for you and your family!
During my travels to Maine we went to Fort Knox of Maine State Park. Very interesting, but the reason I mentioned it was because of the unique lawn chairs scattered around the grounds. they were a Double Adirondack style with a small table in between. I've looked for plans but can't find them. Came close , so I settled on a similar design. It used 2x4 and 3/4 x 3. I would think something like that would sell. I'd send you a picture if I could figure out how to.
Recent subscriber, looking to start wood working this year, i homeschool my boys too so looking forward to seeing how you get on. The 3 4x2 video got me here.
Amen! Our world is filled with college graduates with buckets of debt and no good paying or no jobs in their chosen field. Promote a strong faith solid educational basics. There are online K-12 curriculums available for subjects that may not be in your wheel house. Train them to be solid American citizens that love God and country and they will be successful. The world would have you believe that as a parent you aren’t equipped to do this and should relinquish your kiddos to the public school system. You’re doing the right thing and I applaud you and your wife for making this commitment to your family. God bless you and your family.
Thank you Christine! Yup all part of the system. Bury yourself in debt and spend the best most healthy years of your life paying it back usually at a job you hate. I'm all for serving the people and working but I belive it should be serving the people how you want to doing something you enjoy. Not going to college then starting from negative.
Brady, when I heard a lot of what you said I thought it sounded more like you making excuses for "going on the road,"...LOL...but when I heard "home schooling" and "New York State," I fully understood why you are LEAVING that region. I lived in Vermont and the Albany , New York area for over 20 years and it simply is not a place to raise kids now days. I'm very pleased you are going down this path...Great video and thanks for sharing this...!!!...Perhaps this will give others, like yourself, the courage to do the same as your family...I subscribed today and look forward to following along as you learn and find you way with a more nomadic lifestyle...P.S....My comments (video: problem with air dried lumber) about green woodworking and sharing my knowledge base with you is sincere, I think you do great work, but just have not learned as much as you need to...yet...but have the skills to do a lot with it when you do get there...
A daring move that many of us just smile about. Kewl, and good luck to you and your family. And for sure, you'll settle down again when you find the right place. In the meantime, enjoy yourselves and the adventure. Merry Xmas 👍
Getting your kids out of the public school system is probably the best decision you'll ever make. Looking forward to whatever this channel brings. Best wishes for you and your family! God bless.
I couldn't agree with you more. The public school system is so broken these days, so as a responsible parent, it's up to you to make the hard decisions that you know will benefit your children the most. Seeing the country and experiencing life "in the wild" is an experience your children will never forget. As I've learned, do what makes you happy!
Looking forward to seeing how your plans all work out. We home schooled our 4 kids as well. They are all adults now with the youngest just turning 29. My wife and I just moved into our new house and slept in it for the first time last night. I've had a woodworking shop built into the house (barndominium actually), and will be teaching my grandkids how to woodwork. I've got 5 of the 8 grandkids who live adjacent to our 5 acres and they are all homeschooled as well. I asked my daughter-in-law if she'd be ok with me teaching the kids and she loved the idea. I've got the 11 and 8 year old excited about repurposing old pallets to make stuff with (keeps the costs down while they learn skills), and selling them to make a few bucks. They both love the idea. Now I just have to get my shop set up (the house is a mess with all our boxes of stuff that has been stored for 5 years while we RVed full time. We've got a Grand Design Solitude 384GK that we'll be traveling in again once we get our house in order and live her a bit, enough to get tired of it and get the itch to get our and see stuff again. Enjoy the journey, and one thing I can say about homeschooling is, we became very close to all of our kids and have a great relationship with them. When people talk about how they had trouble with their teenagers, I can't relate because we didn't go through any of those "trouble years" with our 4 kids. They all traveled with us from 2006-2008 in a Travel Supreme DBSS (44' 5th wheel) that I pulled with a Volvo 770, and towed a Honda Odyssey van behind it. We licensed the Volvo as an RV and set it up for the oldest to live in when we parked = had 2 RV's hooked up at one RV site, and used the Honda to go on side trips. Enjoy the journey, I know we never regretted ours.
Pete, thank you for sharing all of that. And congrats on your new build. A Barndominium is what we are considering when we do settle back down. My latest video is a pretty simple pallet build. Possibly something you can try with the grandkids... Sounds like you have done almost exactly what we're planning on doing and have no regrets about it. Loved reading your comment. Thank you for sharing. We looked at those solitudes. Awesome rigs! Hope all is going well with the shop setup!
So glad you didn't farm out the raising of your kids to day care and taking control of their education. Despite popular belief parents are in charge of their children education not the state. Enjoy your travels and ensure you come see us in the freedom loving state of South Dakota!! Best wishes
Good for you. Our lives are our greatest creations, and we need to live them in the best way we can imagine. Sounds like you and your family are doing that. Best wishes! Just heard the part about leaving NYS. Wish I could too. Congrats.
Remember your TAX MAN SAYS YOU CAN WRITE IT OF& ON YOUR TAXES IF YOU ARE A CONTRACTOR OR A LABORER…IM RETIRED 33 yrs LE……kids all grown …buy what Hate er you want LOVE…says my wife….Just bought the Festool rotary stick sander with VAC. Had to scrape off the popcorn on all our ceilings. Some skim coating this tool saved my ass and made it efficient.
Bro where do you buy your pants. CAUSE YOUVE GOT BILL BALLS TO SELL YOUR HOUSE MOVE TO FLORIDA WITH YOUR FAMILY AND LIVE THE LIFE YOUR LIVING. MAY THE ALMIGHTY WATCH OVER YOU YOUR WIFE AND YOUR FAMILY. ALSO SOME OF THOSE EXTENDED STAY TRAILIR PARKS HAVE SOME SEADIE DUDES. KEEP TRACT OF YOUR KIDS AND MAKE SURE YOUR WIFE KNOWS HOW TO USE A GUN. FROM A RETIRED COP Of 33 yrs. My two sons also in LE and both wo4k nights not by choice. Both daughter in-laws are READY. LOCKED QUICK ACCESS.FIREARM DEPLOYMENT AND DOORS AND LOCKSETS ALL REINFO4CED. CAMERAS GREAT IDEA EVEN IN TRAILER PARKS….. . HOPE IM NOT OUT OF LINE. JUST SHARING FROM EXPERIENCE.
So far I have ran it in very quick spurts and haven't had a problem (not batching out projects). A lot of people RV full time now so a lot of the people just find it interesting. Even saw someone else doing wood carving.
Not crazy, I have young kids and I'm feeling the same trap as you did with the school system. I wish I had the courage to take the leap you did, I look forward to seeing where this adventure takes you. Best of luck!
Ive been talking to my wife About a tiny house myself. Keep making woodworking videos!! I have been into nature photography too, do you have a photography channel or website i could check out? I'm anew subscriber as of today!
School is important for more than book learning That said, modern american schools are frightening places Just as you would not want a teacher with no skills to build a house you do not want an educator with no skills to teach your kids Look into the finnish model for education is my advice
@@BradyHommelYeah, a good and proper commercial saw with the big slide table. I'd be all about that if i had the money. Just that alone is all you really need, and you can go high end pro-sumer on the rest. Though, I wish I had a festool radial arm to look at next to my bosh.
You didn't really say if you actually sold all your other tools. Only suggestion is do some editing of your videos you repeat things over and over and over in the same sentences. Otherwise the choices you make are yours and yours alone you don't need our suggestions or advice on how you live your life. Totally agree with keeping kids out of public schools we did the same. mandates and curriculums are just ridiculous these days and then you got people like DeSantis totally destroying the school system.
I agree 💯 with what your saying about the school system. Enjoy your journey. Please take us with you
Oh Heck Yeah! This is great news for you, your family and us watching. Thanks for taking us along. Safe travels.
Good luck. Glad to see you again and this is a great idea.
I’m proud of you for home schooling your children !!! I hope the best for you and your family . With outlook that you and your wife have, there’s no doubt that you will be successful !! I pray that the Lord blesses you and your family with great health and safety !!!!

That 2x4 night stand video is one of the best videos on youtube.
Wow. Thanks a lot! I appreciate the comment
Glad to see you back in the woodworking. I’ve been following the other channel as well. Good luck in the future. Can’t wait to see the next project.
Glad to be back! Thanks a lot!
How about a video on making a workshop in your garage and what tools to have that are good.
Man , I'm watching from Canada and I think you on the right track. Keep inspiring. Respect all the way man
Thanks a lot!
Amazing choice. We're home schooling too. Best decision we could have ever made
I totally agree with what you’re doing and keeping teaching your kids about life skills they need to know like trades, taxes and Jesus.
You’re a good DAD taking your son to do the everyday chores you do. That’s what I did with my three boys. My mom said when I was growing up I’d follow my Dad about like a puppy, Hense dad taught me everything with his hands…

All the "battery" power to me. Lol. Thank you!

Thanks a lot! Appreciate the kind words! Merry Christmas to you as well!
God bless, more people need to pay attention to what is going on in the school system.
I agree! It's not what it used to be
0:45 "You know I like Milwaukee," one of my favorite things to hear.
Your story is crazy similar to ours...only you have an established UA-cam channel. Great to see you doing this.
Ive built 5 sets of your 2x4 tables. Fun build and sold a few. Stuck in NY. I envy your traveling with your family.
Looking forward to riding along on this journey, through the internet that is!😂 Go get’m Sir!
Thank you!

Maybe you need a fancy wooden coat rack in that RV for a project.
So, you are going to be chopping up wood and doing projects in the campgrounds? Like in your campsite?
Yup. Lol

Congrats.
Living off the grid is the only way to go with the social and political environment at present. Your family will be better off
I am proud of you. 😎
Respect!
Should get pry wood and saw horse for the chop saw and table saw as a stand
Just saying and what is going on here?
This is a heart break.

Dude I love the idea, but if I would bum if I was camping next to you and you were running that saw
Definetly not what it used to be. That's forsure.
Ive been talking to my wife About a tiny house myself. Keep making woodworking videos!! I have been into nature photography too, do you have a photography channel or website i could check out? I'm anew subscriber as of today!
People love molding videos.
School is important for more than book learning
That said, modern american schools are frightening places
Just as you would not want a teacher with no skills to build a house you do not want an educator with no skills to teach your kids
Look into the finnish model for education is my advice
The public school system is Hedious!😂😂😂
Definetly not what it used to be!
So. How much of your old shop did you put in storage?
My festool tools that's it. Larger tools I sold. I want more commercial grade tools when I build out a shop again.
@@BradyHommelYeah, a good and proper commercial saw with the big slide table.
I'd be all about that if i had the money.
Just that alone is all you really need, and you can go high end pro-sumer on the rest.
Though, I wish I had a festool radial arm to look at next to my bosh.
Your link to the travel channel is not working for me
You didn't really say if you actually sold all your other tools.
Bro. Your wild. Good luck.
Lol. Thanks
