Their tools are cheaper than any of those vices you mentioned. I have a Bauer brand 6ft locking tape measure that I carry everywhere. I purchased it at Harbor Freight for a whopping $1.99 plus tax more than 5 years ago. I have dropped it numerous times but it operates flawlessly to this day.
Their woodworking clamps should be on everyone's list! Just like anything from HF, they may not be at the top of everyone's list as far as quality goes, but they have never let me down, and a guy can *never* have too many (or even enough) clamps! 💯
Wow...I've been addicted to HF for some time but never knew about the adjustible wrench for angle grinders. Even if you have the same brand (as I do, having purchased several on sale and even gotten a couple for free) but different years, the hole pattern changes and it's one of the most irritating things in the shop to not be able to easily replace a worn cutoff wheel mid-job because of a stupid millimeter difference. Also -- I never buy the 4" or 6" magnetic trays; they come up for free on sales a few times a year.
My first use for the hook and pick set was to remove a splinter from my hand. They gave me the 4-in-1 screwdriver free at the register. I can vouch for the ongoing search for a 10mm socket. So many never leave the holder but the 10mm, 12mm, 9/19, 1/2, and 5/16 are always misplaced. I wouldn't mind a set of socket bars to gather each size in it's various configurations. I'm the kind of man who likes all his hand tools on a wall for easy access within arm's reach.
I bought the $20 Warrior angle grinder a couple of years ago (it is one model "better" than the $10 version you cite). I haven't had much use for it but it seems to work fine.
One of my best tools for sliver removal and knife sharpening is a jewelers eye lupe magnifiers. Set of 5, from 2x to 10x was $5 at HF. Even more useful now at 77 years.
My favorite HF stuff is The free 5 gallon buckets The 4 in one screwdriver The cyclone dust separator I didn't know about the angle grinder tool. I'll have to grab one.
The only item I don’t have on the list is the clamp. The transfer punch set saves a lot of almost fitting bolt patterns or hunting for an offset shank bolt. If you haven’t wished for an off set bolt you haven’t bolted enough stuff together or have had a transfer punch set a long time. No metric punches needed as 1/32 inch increments gets mighty close to most metric sizes. 😊
I really really really wish they made 8mm and 12mm versions of the essential socket sets. If you have a pressure washer their stubby gun is a must-have upgrade, I think it's $25 which if so means it often can be had under $20 during sales. I really like the Quinn ratchets, best compromise for me between junky and overpriced, and they don't turn the "wrong" way like the Pittsburgh. Most of my hand tools are old Craftsman from '80's and '90's and HF's midgrade brands are usually in line with them for quality. A lot of Icon is getting borderline overpriced for a basic home user like me but they have a set of Icon extra-long 1/4", 3/8" extensions which at around twenty bucks with their occasional 30%/40%-off coupons is super nice to have, very nice quality and it sure beats linking your five other extensions together to get the reach.
Good rule of thumb: If it involves strength, precision or safety...stay far away from Horrid Freight. All the things you picked manage to avoid that criteria, and are all good picks (Especially the picks! :D)- I even own some of these products! I'm a maker too, and now I'm going to go make...just hope the terlit doesn't overflow!
Hello Making Stuff I just found your channel and subscribed. The only thing I can think of to add to your list. The silicone trays from Harbor Freight. I don't know the prices. They range in sizes. Thank you 😊
I got so many Doyle and Icon pliers last week with 30% off under $20. Also the 4 in 1 screwdrivers are free about 4 times a year, just keep an eye out.
another one that I swear by having around is those drill operated Pumps boy do they come in handy and they have 3/4” Hose Barb fittings on then so you can use a regular Garden hose for a pickup or discharge hose I’ve used them to transfer. Fuel ,Oil and Even to empty clogged dirty Toilet water IMO they are so inexpensive they can be a one use Disposable Item You just never know when you might need to transfer any Liquid from one place to another I actually buy them and put them in various Tool boxes to have I’ve owned Several RVs ,TravelTrailers and Motor Boats I’ve used those pumps to create a Siphon to drain bilge water and holding tanks that had clogged Outlet fittings Allowing me to Travel back home. With Empty tanks that were much easier to replace the faulty drain fittings
I literally just went to HF yesterday to see if they sold a replacement tool for changing wheels on my HF grinder. The guy told me they didn't sell them but I could try to call corporate or check on ebay. Your link shows the adjustable one in stock.
The cheap picks work just fine, no reason to spend $18 more for the icon. The flipping screw driver will rust solid. I never use a wrench in the grinding disc unless it’s a 9” grinder, no need on 4-5”. The transfer punch are a great time saver and helps greatly with accuracy, just don’t use them to make a deep punch mark, just a light mark is all that is needed. The locking pliers are ok but the release isn’t the best. Great if you want to weld onto them for custom applications. I just bought the 10mm set, it’s a great addition to the tool box. One of the best purchases. Now if only one could buy every size of sockets in sets like that. I have the magnetic trays all over the place, just got one of the silicone trays, it needs a magnet too.
The magnetic bowls and trays are OK until the Chineseum adhesive releases the bowl or tray. Then you have a stainless bowl/tray that a magnet won't stick to unless it has something ferrous in it. I have multiple magnets with no bowls.
Mine came apart and I glued it back together. I can't remember what I used. I only have CA glue and that 6000 stuff in the silver tube. But it worked great.
@@a9ball1 CA glue (otherwise known as Krazy Glue or super glue) comes in handy quite often. I always have several tubes around, I find the best deal to be the red tubes with the black top and white spout at Dollar Tree.
@@mharris5047 that's interesting. Every time I buy it from the dollar store it never dries. I buy the 3 tube pack from Harbor freight when they are on sale for 99 cents. Couple years ago I bought a bottle of it from Amazon and I never used much of it before it got too old. So now I buy the cheap stuff.
Harbor Freight is the king of trash tools. Example: I bought a pack of assorted diameter drill bits and all of them were dull. One was even slightly bent. So, when you roll it on the table it had a noticeable wobble. Every tool I ever got from HF was either returned of dropped in the trash. HF = no thanks.
I buy alot of their two part clear epoxy. It is worth the money and works great. And their work gloves also the blue latex gloves I use alot. It is hit or miss with harbor freight alot of stuff is just total Chinese garbage.
Your loss. HF is great for consumables. And some of their hand tools are starting to seriously rival higher dollar options…like equal/better performance w/o the Tool Truck price tag.
I've got a set of Pittsburgh sockets, metric and standard, regular and deep which I bought sometime around 2004 which I still use today. Many engines were assembled and many cars built or repaired with those sockets. I even abuse them with impact guns, too. Haven't broken or damaged one yet.
If you didn't get the end of the video, then you fast forward too much. LOL!
I quit smoking, alcohol, and pot but I'm hooked on harbor freight 😂
For me, the $2 multimeter was the gateway tool!
No no, go back to your other vices!☹️🤦🏻

I make my own clamps.
HF tools are not worth the price of my having to drop them in the trash.

I completely agree! I love that adjustable wrench.
Along with the magnetic trays, I'd add the small and large magnetic retriever tools. A must for us butterfinger mechanics.😅
Couldn't agree more on the retrieval tools, just today one of those saved my back, my knees, my patience and mood after conquering roll away bolts!
Thanks for watching!
didnt realize how transfer punches work. will pick up a set asap! Thanks
I have the rest of these, they are great. I love the lifetime warrantys
Glad you're finding them useful! Thanks for watching!
Flush cutters and gloves would be my addition to the list.
Good idea, Thanks for watching!
Shop brush, parts organizers, rubber trays, small wire brushes, the $8 California framing hammer, and many many others.
Yup! It's tough to pick just seven.
The Portland flush cut saw for $6.99 is one of my favorite HF purchases for under $20.

I bought the $20 Warrior angle grinder a couple of years ago (it is one model "better" than the $10 version you cite). I haven't had much use for it but it seems to work fine.
I have three grinders, each with a different attachment. They seem to be of decent quality. Only one failed, and it was just the switch.
One of my best tools for sliver removal and knife sharpening is a jewelers eye lupe magnifiers. Set of 5, from 2x to 10x was $5 at HF. Even more useful now at 77 years.
Nice list! I would suggest adding the Pittsburgh electronic calipers. I use my constantly around the shop for measuring a variety of things.
Good suggestion. Thanks for watching!
My favorite HF stuff is
The free 5 gallon buckets

You and me both. Thanks for watching!
I never heard of a transfer punch that but it sounds very useful. Think I’ll try to get one tomorrow without buying a lot of other stuff.
And please let us know how that ended ! I've never heard of anyone leaving Harbor-Freight with ONE tool.

My most used is there jack carts! The same as they use to to take your heavy buys to you car/truck..
I own two of them and use them for everything!!!

👍👍 Great job Brother. And it looks like we missed a great party ! 😂😁 I don't have #5 & #6 so I might have to go there now.

10 mm socket set currently on Inside Track Sale for 9.99 until 12/5 (in my store, I assume good at all their stores)
Thanks for letting us know!
The dual sided ratcheting chuck wrench should be on the list
I just got one last week. So good!
@charlespreiss3426 I've even given them as Christmas gifts at the truck shop where I work, though now most hand drills have keyless chucks
