How about any number of silicon valley billionaires who have sold out to China? How about China's billionaires in tech companies that helped them to develop AI that allow them to predict who'll end up resisting their government?
How about fossil fuel billionaires that actively try to hold back cleaner energy developments? How about the billionaires in the Military industrial complex who actively push for various global conflicts, a few of them have even been implicated in double dealing for both sides.
Perhaps not all Billionaires are shitbags, I'm sure some of them are decent folks, but large amounts of money will always attract the people most willing to do ruthless things to get it. Homelander is great and Anthony Starr absolutely murdered the role there is no doubt but I will still stand by my word that Butcher is the greatest character in this series and Urban’s performance is severely overlooked. This monologue, this scene, the dialogue, the execution ITS PERFECT. You can feel Billy’s pain and sheer rage and how badly he wants to hurt someone who can’t be hurt, or even touched for that matter. How he wakes up every day walking beneath these gods who are nothing more than just scumbags while they still receive praise. How he lives in a world where there is superiority and a contrast and he wants nothing more than to kill all the supes. He says “where’s your self respect” “you should want to go after them with a chainsaw” and it’s perfect. This whole monologue is so powerful and truly why this series is a masterpiece.

I love this scene. I mean we're shown that Butcher's rage is justified but it I also like how the show shows that his stance isn't always right. Like for example StarLight,A-train,Queen Maeve aren't bad people just because they're supes and I'm sure there are other supes who aren't morally repugnant monsters.
Even translucent had a son which shows that killing them isn't always the right answer since not all of the supes are pure evil. But it also shows where butcher is right with how a lot of supes constantly break laws and don't have any caution when it comes to using their powers for evil. Its such a great moral dilemma in which the show doesn't give a clear answer to who's right.

@@kyleager6417 did you watch season 1 if so there's a scene about comparing him to Hughie. Sure he's an piece of shit but he's not pure evil like how homelander is. I mean I just like how it's grey, like a lot of supes are probably evil but the show also shows that this isn't always right and some supes are decent people just in a shit situtation.
(like a-train killing robin wasn't a calculated thing on a-train's part it like the equivalent of drunk driving since he was on drugs at the time, It makes him a piece of shit but not evil.)
Granted I still like how the majority of supes are evil since I think it's a really cool angle of superheroes in a realistic world being corrupted by power or just plain being insane like homelander but I like how it shows off how things aren't black and white with some supes being decent people at heart.
As for A-train I'd say he's not as good as maeve or starlight and leaning more towards the other side but not entirely evil like homelander. I mean you can say the same about a protaganist like Butch. In season 1 he literally murdered a guy sure the guy ratted them out but I don't know if that's justification for murder.

Because, ultimately what really gets him is the fact that the Supes can get away with all sorts of stuff.

I forgot how absolutely evil the supes were and set up to be, things changed so much and became so grey till last season. A human trying to kill these super beings feel so out of reach - no one would even try, like these people, cause it feels out of reason - but he's gonna try to find it... and i cant wait to see it. Punisher is really the perfect inspiration for him.

They don't feel any rage againts their abusers, because they don't have any self respect and they believe that all the bullying they recieve can be forgiven even if there is no apology and their abusers can be pardoned because they're better or are entitled to do as they please.
