"I hate how it's always like, 'the ship is damaged', okay? I think I did a pretty admirable job landing that time!" - BeccaBytes after a 40 meters per second impact
Aw ty, I’m a fan of the older school Let’s Plays that were just recorded on their own without being streamed, and wanted to do a bit of an updated take on them!
I love your crazy theories! 🤣 Previous episode: "The dark bramble seed is causing the explosion. This episode" "Is the Eye the Dark Bramble Seed!?" Oh, and welcome to Brittle Hollow. It's my favorite planet. So awe-inspiring.
@@BeccaBytes If you hadn't finished the game already I wouldn't post spoilers but... Except that the angler fish are blind 😂 That couldn't possibly have anything to do with the giant anglerfish in dark brable 🤭 To be fair I had to check my log after getting eaten a few times before it finally clicked for me that they hunted by sound😅
I watch a LOT of OW playthroughs, and must say I think you've got possibly the best editing game I've seen. Also enjoying your general vibes. Keep it up! 😃
Thank you so much!! Editing Outer Wilds was a bit of a puzzle because of its non-linear nature, and I was so determined to get it right that it took FOREVER to do. So I'm thrilled to hear folks are enjoying the end product!
I love the different easter eggs you have in the voice lines you make the viewer "choose" in the intros, such a great idea! I can’t wait to see how you’ll incorporate such an idea for other games! I’m so invested in your blind playthrough. Your personality mixed with an amazing game and creative intros, that’s the sort of quality content I get easily addicted to! Great job!
I could see this working so well for games like Firewatch, and The Invincible (very linear narratives) and even lending itself to the more open-ended stories like Subnautica
Thank you so much!! That means a lot. The intros were tricky to figure out but I definitely wanted to put the extra effort in to make the playthrough more memorable for people!
4 parts is a good rate at noticing the white hole station. another person i watched recently didnt even realize the white hole station even existed until after she beat the game. "its just for flavor".
I very much adopted the mindset of “even if I fail at what I’m trying in a loop, I’M GONNA FIND SOMETHING,” and I won’t lie, that helped me quite a lot multiple times
The pacing of the uploads and the excellent editing is making this popular. I commented on a earlier video at 12 subscribers and now your channel is a flourishing 277, it just keeps getting better. Keep up the great work, this is bound to go places!
I think one of the best things about this game is how much it actually teaches people about momentum and how to move around in space. Knowing when to start firing retro rockets, when to stop accelerating so that you will be able to slow down when you arrive somewhere. In most games you just go full throttle until you make it somewhere and then just immediately slow down magically. In every playthrough it's so fun to watch folks try this method in Outer Wilds and experience the sweet crunch death :)
Yeah most games use our intuition about how things work in an atmosphere, being that you have to constantly fight air resistance and that decceleration occurs naturally, so moving takes effort but stopping just... happens. In space you have to spend just as much effort accelerating and deccelerating, it's really counterintuitive at first that half your time should be spent slowing down.
I do love the funny part of this where you can immediately tell who's played a space sim of some sort and who hasn't tried to rendezvous in orbit before xD
Omg congrats on finishing the game and welcome back!! Wasn’t the end of the game incredible??? I cannot wait to post the later episodes because UGH it was so good
20:34 "Feldspar's camp agaaaain" That was so sincere, I really hope you figured out how to mark locations in each of Ship log's modes, it took me a while
I… I didn’t realize the feature existed until right when I started the DLC tbh, so you can imagine certain events towards the end of the base game were uh, more difficult than they needed to be. 😭 the good news is the feldspar signal disappears after this episode so at least it doesn’t stick around the entire playthrough
20:00 About the interloper already being in your log, it doesn’t actually have anything to do with being near it. You just need to have an entry about it, so if you read or hear something that gives you a log entry the interloper appears. I got confused when I landed on hollow’s lantern but it still didn’t appear, but it was because I still hadn’t read anything there or heard about it elsewhere. Great video ::)
I hope you enjoyed it! Also just stopping by to say part 5 is up now- I upload on Wednesdays and Fridays at 8AM PT so you caught up a smidgen too early 😆
Been absolutely LOVING these videos! c: Your commentary is wonderful and the dedication you put into solving the mysteries is honestly so engaging! I was cracking up too because of the fear of returning to Dark Bramble: literally the biggest "SAME" moment (the way I avoided that place as long as possible in my playthrough . . . ) Keep up the incredible work! Earned yourself another sub and an eager viewer who can't wait to see the next episode!
As others have said - really enjoying the production values here. Just came from finishing Kastaclysm's playthrough (though it seems there might be another video left there at present), and I'm trying to decide if I prefer this "curated" style, or just seeing everything. It's interesting to see how some of your unconventional choices about what to focus on (or skip over) early on have impacted your approach. E.g., skipping the ghost matter demonstration on Timber Hearth, not reading almost anything in the museum, not checking the Eye locator on Attlerock, etc... I've seen it said that Outer Wilds is a quantum experience - there are so many possibilities in how a player might progress, and each player collapses them into a single version of the experience as they play.
I've watched DOZENS of Outer wilds Let's plays during the years (like most of us here lol) and I can already tell yours is going to be one of my favourites! Love the editing, love your enthusiasm and reactions and you seem to be perfectly curious and clever for this game! I hope you play Tunic sometime, it has a similar vibe even though it's totally different.
reaction to watching the supernova : - we're so dead - it's so pretty - wait, how do we save people from a supernova ? I love how this game can make us feel so many things in a short amount of time.
I'm amazed that it took you three falls through the black hole to find the White Hole Station! That was one of the first locations I stumbled into in my playthrough (and boy, was I sick of seeing it by the end...).
I wonder what your thought process was for the anglerfish cave. you knew you had to use your scout, but then didnt even look where it was when looking for the entrance
where the little kid was throwing rocks at ghost matter, there was a tutorial text you mustve missed. and that you can take scrolls out of the walls if one is inside already

@@BeccaBytes amazing choice^.^ i've seen too many let's plays ruined by chat giving answers and taking away the magic of natural discovery.
