Let's Play Outer Wilds Blind - Part 10: The End

- I was so full of emotions by the time I started attempting the Ash Twin Project to the Vessel run that it made everything SO much more difficult but impactful for me. I can't remember the last time I bawled like that during a game. But also... welcome to the SLOWEST trip to the Vessel, ever. I hope you enjoy your stay. :)
There's something beautiful about how we got to be together with everybody at the end of it all, and we even got to talk to Solanum and understand her! I love how it ended with us solving smaller puzzles to bring everybody together and we all listened to music and hung out together one last time. 😭
I feel like all other games are going to pale in comparison now.
Oh well, onto the DLC! ... After I do a week of "wrap up" uploads next week and take a break the week after. Y'all didn't think I forgot about the kazoo music, did you?

I CAN’T BELIEVE THE BASE GAME IS DONE. The first project on this channel. It was so fun and rewarding, and the effort ended up being significantly more ambitious than I had originally intended. Maybe I was inspired by the Nomai?
Coming up next on the channel:
- Week of Mar 24: The Full Supercut + break
- Week of Mar 31: Ships log episode Review + Q&A Video
- Week of Apr 7th: DLC Starts!
ALSO JUST TO BE CLEAR I'M DONE WITH THE DLC. So don't worry, you won't spoil me if you want to talk about it! Just maybe put "DLC Spoilers" at the front so that viewers who haven't played aren't spoiled accidentally. :)

I decided to leave the full “the run” segment from ATP to The Vessel so y’all could understand how TRULY slow I went. My emotions were so intense that my anglerfish fear got dialed up to 11 and it resulted in me being soooooo extremely cautious haha. It was interesting seeing how slow I was in this going back. Definitely would’ve helped to mark my map. HA.
And… I’m SO HAPPY when I jumped in the egg initially nothing happened omg.
If you maybe noticed, I DID do a very long last day of the game. I want to say it was 7-8 hours of recording total with 3-4 15-30 minute breaks. And I had to power nap during two of those breaks to keep going but I *had* to see the end.
Congratulations on your victory. The series was fantastic, especially as a first time project for a channel. Thanks again for posting this. Also if you get a message from a channel called Ellis asking about doing a super cut of your channel, take the offer. That's basically all their channel does and it's helped me find other content creators that I never would have seen on my feed otherwise. Could be a solid way of getting new viewers.
51:00 "Well, you cut it a little close, don't you think ?". That was just awesome.
I am THRILLED to see you play the expansion! Literally subbing for it.
Have you gone back and replayed the main game ending since meeting the new friend?
Such an amazing playthrough! Can’t wait for the supercut, Q&A, and especially to watch you play the dlc! Easily one of my fave playthroughs!
I did!!! I immediately did after "finishing" the DLC because I was you could say... motivated.
"One marshmallow for the road" said the last living creature at the end of everything
or was it the beginning

I couldn’t say this to someone just starting their playthrough but someone that has finished this game would understand: I came here to watch someone cry by the end of this game as much as I did. I’m glad I found your channel, you did and do an amazing job. Can’t wait to see what’s next! Thank you ::)
i dont think i've ever shed more tears than at the end of this beautiful game
Same here..... one of the most beautiful games I have ever played
A collegue recommended this game to me. It took me three or four months to finish because I was taking my time and I didn't want it to end I think... I've just finished the game and couldn't hold my tears ... I'm glad that I'm not the only one feeling that way.
One of the most amazing game that exists.
I would never forget it.
If you're reading this I send you much love from 🇨🇵
I have never shed a tear over a video game ... I did for this one.
Also. The story is so much better now that I've taken a time to think about it. Like WHY you paired with the statue in the first place. Now I understand it's because the eye was found at or right before that moment.
Seriously I'm surprised so many youtubers/streamers get through this ending without even shedding a tear. It's super refreshing to see someone actually cry at the end, cause they actually paid attention and cared about the characters
I'm not one to comment on videos usually, but the production quality of the entire Let's Play series is beyond anything I've seen from this genre of video in years - only the best video essays of today can compete in terms of polish and care.
Very well done for completing Outer Wilds, and I look forward to seeing what comes next!
I never subscribe. But I subscribed.
1:27:23 That scout flying by only happens when you lose your scout inside the eye of the universe.
The devs knew what they were doing with this game.
Amazing playthrough. thx.
@@svenvalenberghs2405 time for a sequel i hope
33:20 That was THE MOST trust I’ve seen placed in the autopilot in any playthrough ever!
I’ve also never seen someone cut it that close to the supernova by accident!
Let’s just say I got a very good feel for when auto pilot could or could not clear the sun over the course of the game 😂
I am pretty sure I fully stopped breathing over the last 30 seconds of the final loop because I was just trying to will “making it” into existence.
@@BeccaBytes The first time autopilot flew me into the sun was the last time I used autopilot to path me to something on the other side of the sun. I enjoyed watching you continue to trust it and fly so close each time.
@@TringardThe first time I trusted autopilot it flew me into the sun and I never trusted it since. (It helps that autopilot is also pretty slow and unfun to use, at least in my opinion, so I had enough fun flying normally that my first time with autopilot was already near the end.)
The video "Made my girlfriend play Outer Wilds" also features an incredible case of cutting it close, with her crashing her ship on the outer planet of Dark Bramble and going through the bramble with the space suit just to get into the ship with the last second of oxygen
I broke my ship in half going into Dark Bramble too. I didn't want to give up and went in with my space suit. Seeing the oxygen go down while you can't move because of the anglerfish, who feel even bigger when you're not in your ship, is certainly a terrifying but also really cool way to experience the last journey.
"The universe is, and we are. I am ready."
- Solanum
I'm a simple man, Becca Cries, I cry.
There's something strange about how so many people chase the feeling of playing this game the one and only time you can, a game about a time loop and how we all stand on the shoulders of giants to make a future well never see, and that's okay. All things end. While we exist, we can just explore and learn and be among those we love, and just be.
The universe is, and we are.
It took me watching so many different playthroughs of this game to realise that that was exactly what the Nomai skeletons were doing on the Eye of the Universe - standing on the shoulders of giants. I weep.
I know, right? How ironic that a game about accepting the end makes it SO hard for us to let go of it ::)
Good news, everything does not end. The same one that created the universe communicates their eternal nature and power through what they made. And they can give eternal life to whatever and whomever they want. The end is not so bleak.
The entire time during the ending I was thinking "You get it"
I havent seen any playthrough where the yter got so emotionally overwhelmed by the ending of this game as you,
thats the exact reaction I had when playing this game myself its such a beautiful, sad exciting bittersweet and really overwhelming (for me at least in a good way) experience.
I admire how deeply empathetic of a person you are
Ive seen a few (without facecam) where you can tell that they mute because theyre crying
right like how could you not appreciate the beauty of this creation
This game helped me confront a cosmic anxiety I've carried all my life. It's extremely comforting to know that other people are engaging that same anxiety with curiosity, hope, and creativity. I cried like a baby when I beat it and resolved to enjoy existence while this version persists. This time, watching Becca start up the band at the end, I wept with joy for all of the music I've gotten to make, all of the friends I've come to love, and all of the joy that continues to resonate outward from those relationships. It's been a pleasure to share this slice of spacetime with you all
Many shed tears during the ending, myself included. But this is so curious how people can have this cosmic anxiety. My wife had this since her childhood, while I was pretty chill about it. Can you elaborate on what exactly it is that makes you anxious? Maybe I try to explain my wife's perspective first: Like many in their childhood, she became aware that she would eventually die and was therefore afraid of death, and the cosmos with the sun exploding at some point or that the universe would just end was terrifying to her. She naturally habituated to this anxiety as most adults do, but those kinds of stories always touch her very deeply. I on the other hand am - well - rather chill about the cosmic part. Yes, the sun is going to explode, yes the universe just is and therefore there is no higher purpose. I shrug with my shoulders and continue to make my time worthwhile. Am I weird? I am weird, right?
@@antonk.653 Not weird, I’d call you free! It sounds like you have a lot in common with MY wife when it comes to this stuff. For me, the knowledge of death was immediately associated with Christian concepts of heaven and hell, morality and judgment. I think all of that combined with my mom’s penchant for worrying about and telling stories of disaster and tragedy led me to feel that life was very important and very fragile. I didn’t realize I was convinced I’d die young until I turned 30, now I’m trying to develop a more realistic or optimistic worldview. This game helped me deeply, as well as expanding my religious understanding to be more inclusive of the best ideas from any background rather than the tight Christian dogma I inherited. For me, the anxiety was a sort of narcissism - believing I’m important and what I do or don’t do in this life matters to some unseen judge. A few psychedelic trips and spiritual lessons later, I’m far more comfortable accepting the tandem truth that I am incredibly unique, my impact on life matters, and that it’s all set to fade anyways. Both special and not at all.
@@antonk.653 I don’t think you’re weird! My wife is a lot like you in this way, and I’m striving to adopt more of that mindset. For me, mortality was introduced alongside Christian paradigms of heaven, hell, judgment, etc. I think for me and many like me that the emphasis on righteousness and judgment makes it hard to go with the flow. It made me both afraid of being “wrong” and had me believing that this world is cursed and rotten. All that combined with a pessimistic, tragedy-obsessed upbringing had me conditioned to fear rather than flow. But I’m learning to let go and just be, this game helped me come to terms with realizations I’d had on psychedelic journeys. Impermanence doesn’t diminish importance, importance doesn’t mean severity.
I'm not crying, you're crying!
@@antonk.653Same man, to me the insignificance of our short existence brings me great peace.
I've watched a few playthroughs of this game. It's the only way we veterans get to vicariously experience the game again for the first time. Yours has been my favorite. Thank you for letting me accompany you on your journey.
@@EphraimGlass true…
That was probably the closest I've seen someone make it to the eye. It made me so anxious when you at first didn't notice you put the first coordinate in incorrectly, but you made it in the end. Great job!
Speaking of cutting it incredibly close, check out Kastaclysm’s playthrough. I think you could see the supernova’s light rays starting to puncture the Vessel right as she warped.
@@ryankoski2499I was going to say the exact same thing, If Kasta had been 1 second later it would have been game over and you could see the supernova after warping.
I cried even more watching this video than finishing the game myself, I can't really tell why but I played the game with a lot of expectations and didn't took the time to enjoy the trip. This was like a second chance to enjoy the game and it was great.
same!! im kind of upset that i rushed it, i didnt even get to meet solanum😭 it was nice to watch a playthrough like this
@@georgia5632 I felt rushed a little but I did explore everything on the ship log. I streamed the entire thing to a friend. And I feel like I wasnt as emotional because of their presence but watching this video I cried a lot lmao
I guess the lesson is to take your time and enjoy everything, I'm not having the same regret ever again!
I panicked a bit when she almost jumped into the orb at the end before talking to everyone

Thank you so much for watching and leaving all of these kind comments over the course of the playthrough!! 😭 I’m not sure I feel ready for the base game’s lets play to be over either
@@BeccaBytes of course!!! it's been a blast watching you play! i'm excited to see where you take your channel, you've got great vibes
This game is specially sentimental to me. I was gifted this after my mom's passing so the ending hit even harder, and it *always* makes me tear up despite how many times I've seen it. And now seeing someone cry to it as well?
This game is phenomenal. A masterpiece.
It's been really fun watching your playthrough!
You can see the death of your own system from afar at 51:49
She JUST nearly died! XD
she was so lucky to not die there xD
I NEVER SAW IT!
I feel even more destroyed now.
This was suuuuuch a wonderful playthrough! I've loved watching you chase your curiosity and connect the dots, and even remembering some of the Nomai's names as you see them communicate across the star system! And your reaction to the very end is so real, it's devastating but at the same time comforting, knowing that you were able to bare witness to the birth of a new universe and, billions of years later, new life. There's something about this story that just hits me deeply. The message isn't just "you're insignificant in comparison to the rest of the universe", you're still able to make memories and meet people and live life, even affecting the universe that comes after you! The dedication you put into this (ESPECIALLY your awesome intros!) did not go unnoticed, I'm excited to see your channel take off! It's well deserved!
Also, just saw the "My Better 50%" at the end, what a great callback 🥺
You made It almost like a movie, love It. When for your "messed Up" you teleported almost at the last moment when the sun exploded and the happiness... Cant wait to see the DLC, Is as amazing as the game
"When the inhabitants of the new universe see this strange metallic object flying through space, they will make one very important note.
It seems to be older than the universe itself."
Amazing series. Your editing and presentation made this a pleasure to watch. Really looking forward to seeing the rest of your channel now ::)
Thank you for sharing your journey with us Becca, I’m glad to have witnessed the end of the Universe with you
Thank you for all the kind and thoughtful comments you left on all of the videos! I appreciated them a lot 😊
@@BeccaBytes the pleasure is all mine: you made me rediscover my favourite game of all time 2 years after completing it. Your playthrough genuinely moved me in the best possible ways, I even cried alongside you last night while I was watching the episode. You have a very powerful way of approaching things with sheer curiosity and a beautiful soul which makes this playthrough extremely special to me. I’ll cherish it like I cherish my favourite TV series, and I can already see myself going back to it every year to experience the game again. Thank you so so much for that ☺️
I caught myself thinking you were overreacting before even hitting the ending, then I caught myself tearing up along side.
Theres a reason I keep watching people play this game blind, and it's because its a very special experience. The melancholy optimism in the ending is hard to forget.
Congratulations on putting together one of the best OW playthroughs on the internet. It was joyous to come along with you through my favorite story. I'm glad you're taking a break to process the whole thing and I can't friggin wait for you get to the BEST DLC EVER DROPPED. That is all I will say about it for obvious reasons. Good luck. Can't wait. Thank you!
This game absolutely changed my life. I'm so glad other people get to share its beauty.
I love the end credits of the game. They musically capture the whole game perfectly. Youve got the musical instruments representing the Nomai and the Hearthians, and whatever comes next, with each one gradually picking up the melody. There's even a part where the hearthian instrument gets stuck in a loop.
Froggy! I had no clue you liked this game. I agree. The music in this game is absolutely beautiful, and the completed Travelers theme is undeniably a great work of art.
I love how in 14.3 billions years (the credit song) is the only song with the Cello in it. Symbolizing a truly new universe
@@darthwisetheplagueis5869 Plus, how the new universe is introduced with the Timber Hearth theme played on cello
Really excellent playthough. It always warms my heart when people have such connection to the ending, it never fails to get me emotional. What a banger start to a youtube channel
What a beautiful playthrough... seeing you weep, at the end of the universe, really personified all the things this game was trying to say. How sad, but also, how beautiful it is.
So welcome to the other side of life, post-Outer Wilds, with the rest of us! (For the base game, at least. You have one more journey left to complete; and trust me, it's worth it.) Here are a couple of fun things you missed:
- The number of Nomai on the stump at the end there was actually completely unrelated to how many of the other travelers you'd found; that was just a funny coincidence. You were supposed to repeatedly look away and back (or turn your light off and back on again) to make them move, like you did to the ruins to collect Riebeck's banjo, and you'd see them climb onto each others' shoulders one by one before manifesting into the shuttle. This represents the knowledge and technology they passed down from generation to generation, and then to you, which eventually allowed you to reach the Eye.
- The incoming transmissions you find on the Vessel are from *modern* Nomai. We can tell this because they refer to the disappearance of Eskell's vessel as an "ancient legend", and also the game explicitly confirms it elsewhere. The other clans of the Nomai survived until the very end, and were seeing the stars die in real-time just like you and Chert. But time was just about up for them, too.
- Speaking of Chert, there were some bits of dialogue you missed from all the travelers, since you didn't go back and tell them about all of your discoveries. When you go to play the DLC - and it's strongly recommended to do so from your current expedition, NOT from a fresh save file - you can go around and see what they think about everything, if you're completionist enough to want to.
- Other completionist things you can do include finding all the other ways to "Game Over" besides dying after taking out the core. I can't quite remember how many you found in this series, but there's a couple of interesting ones in bith the base game and the DLC. Some funny, and some sad, like much of this game in general.
Again, this was an absolutely lovely playthrough, so thank you! If you keep playing my kind of games, I'll keep sticking around to watch. 😉
After watching this, I really wish I had recorded my blind playthrough. By the end credits, I was honestly sobbing. That never happened to me. Yeah I cry sometimes when I play videogames, but I never once had to stop to actually sob the way I had to with Outer Wilds.
It was liberating to find your channel and see I wasn't going crazy for the way I reacted. Thank you for this.
Omg Becca I'm not sure if I'm ready to watch this end, I enjoyed this gameplay so much, it was like playing the game once again for the first time. Thanks for sharing this with us I really loved it all. Greetings from Colombia!
Thank you for being such a genuine person. Really made this playthrough special, and let me relive all those emotions again 😭 Looking forward to the DLC!
"get rekt, loser" to the anglerfish cracked me up. Love your videos. I subbed like 2 minutes into episode 1. Thanks for making them.
This has been so fun to watch from the beginning. Your investment in the experience and lore and characters is so heartening. And after all that, having the coordinates glitch out and disappear on you...sheesh! But you did it, and I'm looking forward to your next videos.
Also if you're looking for something with a similar existential lean but maybe a bit weirder/sillier and you haven't already, give The Stanley Parable a try.
(1:23:02)That "Conversation Wall" you read in "The Vessel" where the Nomai knew the Universe was ending, that was a "MODERN DAY" Conversation!😉
Even though "The Vessel" has laid dormant in Dark Bramble for nearly 300,000 years, The Vessel can still pick up the "Incoming" messages from other "Modern Day Nomai Vessels" that exist in "YOUR" present time. They also noticed that the Universe was ending as well. Unfortunately The Vessel's capacity to send "outgoing messages" to other Vessels malfunctioned during the crash in Dark Bramble.
Also pretty sure you witnessed(in Post Production) your missing "Little Scout" flying through the New Universe you helped make. When that Marshmallow roasting Insect race discovers "YOUR Little Scout"... they will notice ONE significant detail, that it is "Older Than The Universe Itself". Thanx for sharing this with us.
@@roborob4296 Image a outer Wilds were you actually play AS a Nomai👌🏾
Given how tiny and fast the universe of OW is, if they counted local years then 250k can easily be reduced to 2-10 earth years, depending on the planet. I sometimes wonder if from ours slow earthen perspective this whole nomaian crash-resurgence-extinction happens in just a couple of our days.
I see a lot of people make incorrect assumptions every now and then because they barely read the Ship Logs.
@@Scion141 might I ask which part of it?
I could tell from the very beginning of this playthrough with the clever openings edited so clearly with love that this was a special game to you, just like it is to all of us viewers.❤️ Thank you so much for sharing your journey, and congratulations on creating a new universe!
It’s so beautiful to see someone with such a deep love for the Nomai. You really seemed to connect with them and it’s so sweet.
I feel like the trope of “ancient forerunner species that left ruins and mystery everywhere” is so huge in sci-fi video games (Forerunners in halo, protheans in Mass Effect, progenitors in homeworld etc.) that it’s hard to have a new spin on them. It’s always some cold alien distant feeling.
But in outer wilds you come to have such a feeling of kinship with the nomai, you witness all of their struggles through named characters and personalities and find that they are just lost in the cosmic woods the same as you are. And it’s so beautiful and so tragic that you are removed from being able to help them. But in the end they are with you.
The order in which you picked the instruments for the ending was fantastic and impeccable, to my ears at least. Leaving Solanum's piano for last was a stellar touch also
The DLC was even more crushing for me, so many tears
Seeing how beautiful and important Becca found the thought that the Nomai had built towards all this but never being allowed to witness its conclusion... I can't wait to watch the 'last' vision with her!
1:19:49 I...just lost my brother 3 weeks ago. This...hit so hard 💔😭
Thank you I enjoyed your let's play. I wish I could've made him discover my favorite game
I never realized the music themes all synced up when I was playing until watching it happen at the very end, and for some reason that was really impactful emotionally to me and made me cry. In a way this is about the end of the universe, but I think in another way it's about death and coming to terms with the fact that even though it feels like the universe will die with our own death, it will continue on for others, and that's a good thing that we can just get to play our little part in the grand orchestra and try to harmonize with our fellow travelers along the way. Thanks for sharing your playthrough with us! I look forward to the DLC!
What a wonderful end to an incredible game. Never fails to choke me up, and seeing your genuine reaction tipped me over the edge 😭 Congratulations on your first playthrough and an awesome start to the channel!
This was an incredible journey and playthrough to witness and your raw emotions were heart wrenching. Thank you so much for this
Thank you for going on the journey with me!
I can’t believe how close you cut it on your final loop. Moments away from death, and you made it. Great playthrough.
I watched you play the end of EOTE, and here I am after your whole play through of the base game. Thank you for taking us along on your journey to the end of the universe. This ending makes me cry too.
I can't believe you found the ATP by accident! and getting to the Black Hole Forge the wrong way! Flabbergasted. Excellent play through. Love your custom intros as well. Keep up the excellent work. Hope this channel does really well for you. Now for your entire EOTE playthrough! See you again at the end of that!
That was awesome. So many great moments. I loved every episode. Thanks for making this! I love your intros and that you played blind and I really appreciate your editing.
This is my favorite game of all time and I wanted to experience it again through someone else. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and it touched you like it did me. I've gifted this to like five people but no one has been hooked by it yet 😅
I can't watch the tears along with the end of this game without being moved to try and give hope. The future is not so bleak. There isn't an uncaring, indifferent, impersonal or malevolent force that existed before the universe. Just look at what has been made. The beauty and the majesty and the love. Look at the animals and how they love us when we treat them well. Look at food and how wonderful an experience it is that brings us together. It didn't have to work that way. We are love capable and existential beings that exist as the result of someone else's work. Why would they be less caring and loving than us? How would they be unable to comprehend joy and sadness, love and fear?
Yes there are very painful and scary parts of this experience just like in the game or in any good story. Yes there are hard lessons to learn. But we are getting to be a part of making something really cool. We are not learning or suffering in vain. Unless that's what a person chooses.
Some people will proudly say they believe it's all completely pointless, that's there's no purpose to it all. Some, many these days really seem to want it to be dark and bleak and will call what I'm saying wishful thinking at best. I used to say the same. But now I call it objective reality, and if you really want the truth you can find it, if you're willing to be humble and ask for help from the one who created it. I testify that they care so, so deeply and they are willing. They care enough to suffer and die for any one of you, and I don't need to know what you've done to know that.
I would love for all of us who got to experience this awesome journey together to be able to share many even more awesome journeys together forever. I believe with all of my heart it's possible and it's what God wants for us. I hope some of you will want that too!
This playthrough. Amazing. So glad I found it. Glad you loved it as much as I did. ♥
Becca, I've watched many playthroughs of Outer Wilds. It's my favorite game, and I enjoy watching others on their journey. Your adventure is one of my all time favorites now! You ended up connecting so deeply with the Nomai and the Hearthians. I loved your curiosity, your humor, and the way you connected all the dots. You did such a great job editing and put together such a creative intro (and outro!) to your videos. Congratulations on finishing the main game, I'm so proud of you. Way to kick your channel off with a bang!
I can't wait to watch your adventure in the DLC, and whatever else comes in the future for your channel! Thanks for sharing your journey, Becca 🙂
I saw that you felt it. The emotion that this game inspires in its biggest fans. The desire of all intelligent beings to resist against the existential dread of the universe. Welcome to the Outer Wilds Club!
This was such a beautiful playthrough. Your edits, emotions, and general attitude were a joy to watch. As I'm sure you know, after playing this game, you can't experience again truly, so I constantly scour UA-cam to find playthroughs to experience it all again vicariously. This has been one of my favorites, thank you so much.
I can't wait to see what you do in the DLC!
I don't normally comment on videos, but I wanted to say thank you for such an amazing playthrough! Outer Wilds is truly such a special game, and seeing someone so invested in its story made me feel the story in a totally new way. I also loved the editing so much, and I looked forward to the "waking up" segments at the beginning of each video. Take however much time you need for videos, because if they keep being this good, they're worth it!
I think one of the most subtle things that most people don't get about the dark bramble is the natural gravity pull towards whatever direction you are looking at.
Thanks for posting this great playthrough! In addition to your intros and editing I really enjoyed your playstyle of following specific leads that interested you, rather than exhaustively exploring each area. It made for a unique order of discoveries which was fun to watch. ::)
Girl, firstly, thank you so much for the playthrough. It's the third time I watch someone finish the game and I'm still in tears.
On the subject of timing, yes, you did miraculously warped at the very last moment. That was amazing. Perfect suspense
I really enjoy the editing for this series, it really sets it apart from other play throughs of the game! It really added to the vibes of the game! I also enjoy your personality, and how you broke the episodes into themes to tackle in! You earned a sub!
Never thought I’d see a game about the heat death of the universe
Helluva thing to start a channel with, thanks for sharing your experience with us 💖
I haven’t actually watched any play throughs of this game all the way through until now, this production quality is amazing for the first let’s play on your channel!! I loved the way you handled the beginning and end of each video, the amount of detail you put into each option and little references from past episodes! You’re my new favorite youtuber (and i watch way too much youtube) and i can’t wait to see your echoes of the eye play through too, which imo the music is even better. And thank you for putting so much effort into these videos, your attention to detail has not gone unnoticed! ❤️❤️
Really enjoyed the playthrough! I nearly fell into despair when I saw you mis-enter the first coordinate - and then you saved yourself by screwing with the power system and forced yourself to re-check the settings to catch your mistake - and yes, you hit the warp just in time, you literally had seconds left, and if you had successfully triggered the warp to the wrong coordinate that also would have been game over I think... So pretty much the most tense playthrough I've seen of the Vessel sequence. :D
The final run of this game is such an incredible emotional roller coaster between the mad scramble from the ATP to the terrible creep through bramble to the eerie alien Eye of the Universe and then the finale with the whole crew and Solanum. Really amazing. Thanks for sharing it with everyone!
I'm so enormously impressed with this series and the channel! Very honoured to be among the first to subscribe and looking forward to seeing you play through the DLC. Then onto whatever other games you want to explore. If you like games that scratch that existential itch but have a narrative style, I feel like What Remains of Edith Finch would be a worthy addition to the channel. Heavy subject matter notwithstanding!
I'm pretty sure I'd watch you eat an apple and enjoy it though so I'll be here regardless of comes next :D
Such a great playthrough of the game and great editing too! It never gets old watching people play it. I love your comments about the journey and the nature of the eye and universe. To quote my favorite line in the game: "As a child, I considered such unknowns sinister. Now, though, I understand they bear no ill will. The universe is, and we are."
Looking forward to the followup and the DLC!
I've watched a lot of people play this game, and this playthrough is by far my favorite. The production of the whole thing was beautiful, and I loved the way you approached the game. It was a joy to watch; thank you for sharing it with us.
Crying along side you. This has been one of my favourite play throughs, your emotional journey has been captivating to watch along. Look forward to more!
My gratitude for adding to the core of reexperiencing the first expedition. Your journey was a pleasure to watch! I am on to cry more with the DLC now
Fantastic job. I love how you felt the emotional impact like you did. I was crying right there with you ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing your journey and experience with us. For a game that has themes of letting go, I never felt like I truly can. I got to re-experience a game I can't experience again on my own, and I was crying alongside you. You did an excellent job editing for storytelling and time. I'm glad I'm a bit late and could watch it all without waiting. After I calm down I'll watch the DLC.
I'm happy I got to discover you! Was genuinely surprised to see it's your very first playthrough on UA-cam because of how original and professional you are!
Can't wait to see what other games you'll play, Outer Wild DLC or not 🌟
I love this game. It's by one of my favorites and I always have this thought of wishing that my memory of this game would be erased so I could experience it all over again. It was super nice to be able to relive a first time playing through it. Thank you for letting me on this journey with you
SUCH an amazing playthrough, thanks for all the time and effort and creativity you put into this!
This is the best let's play I've ever seen. I usually don't like editing, but this is extra quality. and yes, if after completing the DLC you have not completed the ending again, be sure to do so. it is expanded.
It's crazy that you got to the eye of the universe just in time!
Ps, this was an amazing playthrough. Thanks for great videos, Becca! 😀
Thank you for such a wonderful playthrough. I didn't think, after watching so many Outer Wilds Let's Plays, that I would cry again, but your emotions came through the screen and I was done.
I look forward to watching your completion video to see how you react to some of the things you missed.
This was a great video to relive my emotions of my favorite game with someone really feeling them as well.
If you're anything like me you'll end up thinking about the meaning of the ending of this game for a good month or two after beating it, for which I'm envious. Have fun!
You really played through the entire game without using the map. Wild and impressive! Although somewhere the dev that lovingly handcrafted the map interface is crying.
Made me cry again. After losing my dad and more recently my mom I was struggling emotionally. Outer Wilds and the movie Everything Everywhere All At Once helped me accept things are the way they are and that’s it ok to move forward.
Wow, I really felt that stress as you made it to the eye. Also I was getting teary every time you did, but when you said "He didn't have to be alone!" ohf, that really hit me. Another Game that I think of as cozy, but has that same inquisitive unraveling of a story that you kind of fell into is Riven. The remake looks like it will be really great and comes out this week on the 25th. I'm excited to see new people see it for the first time.
Amazing let's play, thanks for bringing me back to this emotional rollercoaster. Great choice for your channel's first let's play.
As you're winding down on this (I assume the DLC is inbound sooner or later) I am once again recommending the following as equally emotional and satisfying experiences:
1) Disco Elysium - a classic RPG with some of the most incredible, poinient and emotional writing in games.
2) Playdead's INSIDE - A puzzle/platformer that's a masterclass in environmental storytelling. Incredible atmosphere, and wildly inventive.
3) CONTROL - A third person action adventure by Remedy. Its a super hero origin story, mashed up with the creepy pasta of the SCP Foundation. Its not perfect, but it is an experience.
That was the most clutch jump out of a supernova I've ever seen. Bravo!
Even though i already completed the game, i still teared up multiple times watching this (every time you did, basically).
It is such a strong and emotional game and you'd never expect it when just starting out, innocent and naive the first time you take off from timber heath.
Instant subscribe from me. I haven't done the DLC yet so i wont watch those videos as i know these must be experienced blind.
51:27 I totally understand the emotion you felt at this moment. On my first final run attempt I pulled the orb at the exact second the loop ended and it crashed the game, so I had to go again. The feeling of knowing you've successfully warped is so beautifully overwhelming.
This was brilliant. I am so glad I got to watch your journey with this game. Thank you Becca
The way you make your videos. with the little campfire introduction is really lovely, so much care goes into each one. This whole thing was such a good experience to watch.
You played this game as it was intended. A full on heart and no clue of what to do!
I never comment on videos, but I just had to for this one. This was the best Outer Wilds playthrough I have seen. I have now binge watched the whole series.
I loved the production value you have added to these, with the little campfire sequences at the beginning and joke comments in them, and the end of loop rollback at the end of each video. I must say, you must have said "There's our new pilot. I am sure you are raring to take off" so many times in a row..... It must take finishing the videos so much longer, but I hope you stick with it, as it is very worth it.
As for the playthrough, that supernova at the end while trying to figure out the co-ordinates was insane. I was yelling so hard at the screen.
Great work, and you have earned yourself a subscriber, my friend.
Now to binge the Echoes of the Eye.....
p.s if you want a recommendation of another great little clue solver, you could look into Return of the Obra Dinn. Not so homely as this one, but still a great game.
What an incredible playthrough this has been, from beggining to end. Still can't believe how you almost didn't make it in time with the Eye coordinates, that was tense af lol
I was also in existential tears by the end of this game, and even if the subject matter is bleak, the grandiose while personal ending still leaves you with a sensation not many games (or media in general) can make you feel nowadays. Honestly, what a masterpiece.
Thanks for sharing it with the OW community, starved to relive their first experience we had with the game through others, and now, welcome to the club, heh.
Thank you so much for posting this let's play! Me and buddy watched it together, and while we did spend a lot of the time heckling you for some of your life choices, it was genuinely really fun to watch, and I really appreciated seeing the game through another's eyes. OW is a game that kinda fundamentally changed me as a person, I am glad you also seemed to enjoy it.
There's another game, that isn't really similar but I still think you might enjoy, which is Rainworld. VERY different game, very different themes, but tbh a very similar vibe, at least to me. If you enjoyed learning about the Nomai, I think it would be worth giving a go! It's not an easy game, it definitely doesn't hold your hand when it comes to... anything, and it is not afraid to make your life suck for several hours by randomly constructing a brick wall to bash your head into, but it is a very rewarding game, even outside it's story. (I *might* be biased tho, 400+ hours of anything is bound to warp your perception of it)
Thank you so much for putting so much heart and effort into these videos. It was a true joy experiencing the journey with you - marshmellows, beasties, tears and all.
This was by far my favorite playthrough. I still cry every time even tho I've seen this game tens of times. Your flying weren't that bad Becca, you died exploding your ship just once! 😁Also yes, the last run was actually that close, it was the real end of the cycle.
Late to the party - but it's crazy how you found the Eye of the Universe before finding any of the Shrines to the Universe
Yeah I ended up discovering the shrines when I was working on my ships logs post-game and was like, “Ohhh, uh, whoops” 😆
I thoroughly enjoyed your playthrough, this was amazing! You're very clever and brave! Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us all! Outer Wilds is by far my favorite video game ever, alongise Disco Elysium. Outer Wilds for me was about space exploration, mysteries of universe, and then in the end about existence itself, friends and love! And Disco Elysium is a fantastic game about exploring the human condition. Hopefully you get to play it as well in the future! : 3
And I'm going to watch your DLC playthrough now, yaay! :)
Thank you so much for this - a wonderfully enjoyable watch, and so nicely polished. Your emotion at the end was really powerful. Looking forward to watching the DLC!
I couldn't finish the game on my own but I really wanted to experience it through somebody else's eyes. The universe conspired so that I fell in your channel. That intro in every episode showed me how special you are. Please continue doing gameplays for us, we deserve content like yours.
Honestly i came by this playthrough by accident, but im so so glad i did, going through this experience one more time but thus time not alone, seen it through someone, it somehow expands it so much, the emotions, the journey as a whole, its wonderful.
Thank you
Thank you for the best playthrough I've seen of this game so far, Becca! It was so much fun to see you discover everything, connect the dots, and make a few mistakes along the way. Your editing and commentary were very entertaining, and you've helped me get over my anxiety to play the DLC. I kept putting it off because having it but not playing it seemed like a way for me to pretend Outer Wilds would never end, but experiencing it is worth so much more. I will definitely return to see what your journey through the DLC content was like once I've concluded my own journey. Again, thank you, you seem like an incredibly wonderful person, and I had fun spending some time with you, albeit parasocially
Thank you for playing this game. Its been an obsession of mine and im constantly look to watch someone else experience this game for the first time and yours is one of my most favorites! Thank you for taking us along on your adventure
Amazing. Just amazing. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
I started my playthrough of outer wilds around the same time you started uploading yours to youtube. Cant wait to start playing the DLC :) loved watching this series btw
Congrats on finishing the base game! Can't wait to see your experience with the DLC! Also, what a first game to play on the channel! I look forward to seeing future playthroughs and seeing the channel grow and what it becomes in the future! :)
This has been my favorite lets play of Outer Wilds. The introductions are brilliant. Thank you, Becca!
What a beautiful playthough. It's so clear that you really 'got' what the game was doing on a deep level which is really nice to see. Such a moving piece of art.
That was the second buzzer beater warp to the Eye ib my previous 2 playthroughs, wow!
And I really felt your emotion during those time. I'm really glad you made it and faced your fears head on 😁
Your emotions are so real through all of this, its like I was getting into the eye for the first time togethet with you. Thank you!
