Donna Noble & River Song are my 2 favorite characters of the 10th Doctor's era. River Song, along with Amy & Rory Pond are the best of the 11th Doctor's time in the TARDIS. Though Madame Vastra & crew are amazing, too! And I know that Clara Oswald is controversial to some Whovians, but she really did bring out the very best in the 12th Doctor. But I can't wait to see Donna Noble back in action with the 14th Doctor! I wonder what will be different about this incarnation? Same face, same voice, but not necessarily the same exact Doctor! 💙
@@LaraLinx The Clara feelings hour was hot garbage. She bullied the show to make her more important than the Doctor himself, and then forced him to sit down and become background. Nothing made me happier than the day they got rid of her... and the next day introduced lesbian lumpy potato face with the pasted on eyebrows... and I pretty much stopped watching completely. Caught a few episodes of Jodie, just didnt do it for me. She just didnt have that presence onscreen that people like Tenant and Smith did, and by that point the writing had become just abysmal anyways. No.. this reboot was desperately needed to save the show, and nobody is going to bully the one in charge now.
@@Nazgull2k1 I think it was a mistake to have Jodi Whitaker use her native accent. BUT I went back and watched her last season (the Flux series) and I really did start to get Doctor vibes from her. If you want any chance of understanding the future Doctors, it's important to at least read about The Timeless Child. Totally blows open the origination of the Time Lords and establishes the Doctor is far older than we ever knew. I agree that the reboot was needed. So far the 60th Anniversary specials have not disappointed!
Agreed. The moment where she helped him pull the lever that would condemn Pompeii so he didn't have to carry the guilt alone was the moment she became more than any of the other companions ever were.
Yes, this was the same reason I loved these two together. Donna needed a change in her life and the Doctor needed someone after what happened with Rose & Martha
I swear if she dies or if anything bad happens to her in the 60th episodes. I will riot. I have not waited over a year for her to return for that to be the outcome
12:15 “YOU TOLD ME I WAS SPECIAL, BUT ITS THIS THING, IM JUST A HOST” This line is so heartbreaking. All her life Donna’s been told again and again that she’s nothing (even by the doctor when they first met!) to the point of genuinely believing it. The minute someone says otherwise she latches on so hard. She’s truly the best companion and the most human character of all. Just the fact that she would willingly give up her life knowing there’s a better world that she’s not going to live to see is something I think no other character would do. I can’t wait to see what they do with her in the 60th, way more excited about her than Tennant
Catherine Tate crushed it during her run. Her range is incredible. Turn Left and Silence in the Library are my favorite modern Who stories. The production team as a whole was firing on all cylinders but Tate's performance brought those stories to another level.
Donna's character is very well written and well developed, but her storyline is heart-wrenching. I hope this coming 60th anniversary special gives her a good ending, she deserves better.
Ten and Donna make up my all-time favorite companion duo. They really made each other better and were exactly what the other needed at the time. They may not have had long together in the grand scheme of things, but I always felt that what happened to Donna was really what set Ten on a path to spiraling. He and Martha parted on good terms and he was able to give Rose one last gift --- but with Donna, he was faced with two terrible choices. Either let her die or destroy her memory of their friendship and adventures together, which had helped her blossom into the beautiful and compassionate person she became. I imagine that was beyond devastating. It's clear that she also had an impact on the Doctor way down the line, as it was implied that River knew who Donna was an what happened to her, AND the Doctor subconsciously chose the face of Caecilius because of her. Over 1,000 years have passed for the Doctor since we last saw Donna. They've been through so much and lost so many others. Meanwhile, Donna has been living her life --- she got married and is now a Mother. So I'm really interested to see if/how those things come through in these characters' personalities and their friendship. I'm also wondering how Donna will react to it all, since I'm assuming she gets her memory back. Will she be upset with the Doctor for taking her choice away all those years ago? I'd have to think she wouldn't regret that she got the opportunity to meet her husband and have her daughter, but still... I can't help but wonder if she'll initially feel some resentment that he made the choice for her when she literally begged him not to.
Donna is hands down (aside from River) the best companion of the Doctor, she had the best arc, the best character writing, as well as the most heart breaking ending (so far). I hope that her mother is at least a bit nicer.
I mean their storylines are similar of time pushing them together. Just Donna's was done better imo because I genuinely didn't buy that Matt Smith had any chemistry with Alex Kingston/ Eleven had any chemistry with River. But I absolutely buy that David and Catherine had a ball on set at all times which made it feel like the Doctor and Donna were besties.
Donna is hard to forget but damn this was a welcome reminder of all the little things; so cathartic, not to mention well put together. How many times must I watch 10 wipe Donnas mind before it doesn't make me tear up? 😢 And then it ends on Wilf saluting the Doctor - I'm gone. 😭 What a brilliant way to remind or introduce Donna prior to the 60th. 👍👍
This. So much this. A lot of people remembered her for "Am I bovvered?" but I still have her "just save someone!" from Fires of Pompeii in mind and it's heartbreaking and brilliant

@@Sofiandu81F1that’s true. Although I do love the moment where the Doctor comes back and she just knows immediately that he needs a hug. It shows how close they are and that she knows him better than almost anyone.
Donna Dies.... in the 60th 😢 1. A character is usually portrayed as near perfect to get the audience to love them in order to make the biggest impact when they die. 2. RTD's Doctor Who has ALWAYS been a tragedy. Think of bad wolf bay. Remember the "journey's end" episode, the "family of blood" episode, etc. 3. The Doctor's comment about not being able to save Donna sounds like foreshadowing. 4. The point of bringing back David & Catherine is to get fans re-hooked to the show. This is most easily accomplished by creating a huge emotional reaction to the story. Hence... Donna dies, and the Doctor travels with her child. Which is an attempt to transfer the emotions we will feel over Donna's death to her posterity. They'll probably even have her child use some of Donna's speech patterns etc to get us emotional hooked to the new companion. 5. If we are emotionally hooked to the new companion, and the new companion accepts the new Doctor, the audience is more likely to accept the new Doctor as well. 6. All of this makes it more likely the audience will continue to watch just because of the emotional impact. It's all physiological manipulation. "Only the emotional damage is real."
Donna's story breaks my heart. When River finds out who she is... her reaction... just, oh god.

They are brilliant together the chemistry is so real. Hope the 60th will not be their last 🤞
Wilf's final moment in this video is his final moment on Doctor Who, too. :'(
I love David Tennant's Doctor Who so much❤
It was the best of Doctor Who for me.
I love Donna as well, she is so lovely. ❤

Always a pleasure seeing Dave Ross in his fancy wheelchair
Catharine Tate and David tenant are magic together ,I have been waiting for them to be reunited for years......This is going to be the best ...Cant wait....
Wonderful..
Catherine Tate is in a class all her own …. absolutely brilliant, and my 100% favourite Companion.
If Davies brings back Jenny for the 60th (he won't) I'll cry
Also the way Donna swears without swearing will always be true artistry
DOCTOR DONNA EVERYTIME
For the longest time Leela was my favorite and then Donna came along.
Hey BBC please give us back Donna as a doctor with Eccleston or David! Please!
Dona Noble's / grandad's "Labor camps is what they called them last time." scene brought me to tears. Not the best of looks at the MPLS downtown library.
What happened to midnight? As she was in the beginning and end of it
Yeah but that was not important for her story, he's showing every key moments in Donna's story
@@Sofiandu81F1 I see must wondering
@@Sofiandu81F1that’s true. Although I do love the moment where the Doctor comes back and she just knows immediately that he needs a hug. It shows how close they are and that she knows him better than almost anyone.
Donna Dies....
in the 60th 😢
GOAT companion
Anyway to make the background music louder it's not nearly ear piercingly loud enough
Grandad crying always gets me. I flipping hate it. And then he actually died and made all this worse. Gah!!! 😭
