She wasn't my first, Rose was. Even still I loved her so much, Way more than Amy and Rory. Idk Clara just felt like a breath of fresh air when they introduced her 3 times before she actually joined.

I'll never get over how defeated 12 was by the end of his life. He'd lost Clara, Missy, Bill and Nardole. He only got to say goodbye to their memories too 😥 Yet he still chose to keep on fighting for the sake of the universe.
Martha’s is actually a rlly happy ending for her. Like it’s sad what happened to her family but it rlly shows her becoming the very best version of herself and excepting it and I love that.
Amy is probably my favorite companion but that Rose ending is so hard. Rose and the doctor were so good together and their goodbye has to be the #1 for me.

Right before he regenerates, the 10th Doctor is standing alone in the TARDIS, very solemn and looking at the console, up and down. I had the distinct impression this was 10’s (and probably David Tennants) saying goodbye to his longest companion, the TARDIS. He had already said goodbye to the others, and this was his final and most important farewell. Just my impression as a new DW fan . Thanks for the video. Well done!
Donna was the worst, the absolute worst…Imagine someone you love so much and to save their life you need to completely wipe their mind…It wasn’t the goodbye that was heartbreaking, it’s the fact that Donna is alive and well but she will never remember the wonderful amazing things she did with the doctor. “Donna I was just leaving” “yeah…See ya” *Heartbreaking*

I'm going to be honest, all 4(ish) of Clara's exits were brilliant. 1. End of series 8, where she parts with the Doctor in such a unique way. They were both lying to each other, but their lies were out of love, and while I'm glad she came back because her arc hadn't finished yet, it was one of the most incredible companion exit moments! 2. Face the Raven - Clara has come full circle, and we think her arc is complete. She finally did it, she became the Doctor and it ended her. A true death, and one of the saddest goodbyes. 3. Hell Bent - While Clara did come full circle, her arc is finally complete here, when she gets her own Tardis. She has become the Doctor, with her own companion. Amazingly, Moffatt managed to give her both of the endings that made the most sense with her story, and they both work! 4. Twice Upon a Time - I don't really count this one. It's a lovely moment, but she left in Hell Bent.
You forgot the one from Last Christmas, with Clara in old age, Moffat said that was Planned to be her exit as well, but that Jenna Coleman wanted to stay for another season
Clara really was too similar to the Doctor. Where she went too far in Face the Raven, the Doctor went too far in Heaven Sent and Hell Bent. But once he was able to be with Clara again, she made him realise that he couldn't keep going on the way he was. They brought out the best and the worst in each other. A tragic and beautiful partnership.
Four saying goodbye to Sarah-Jane was the most upsetting for me, Sarah was such a good companion. I'm glad she was able to see The Doctor again in several incarnations, 11 being the last she ever saw
The Ponds leaving break my heart every time. The chemistry - the love between the characters feels so real. And knowing the final goodbye of River - truly heart wrenching.
Matt Lucas saying, "Cuddles," is an almost sure fire recipe for a good chuckle. The delivery of the word, combined with Twelve's resistance to the very ideas, just totally sells it. That being said, seeing Karen show up again just before Smith changes always brings a tear to my eye.

even though we know donna gets to remember and come back, seeing her lose her memory still hurts. the ponds are another that kill me. especially since that episode happened RIGHT after 11 told mr weasley that he would keep him safe. also any time i see sarah jane it makes me sad:(

"Parting of the Ways" is the saddest of all, because it shows that Nine and Rose love each other and were willing to sacrifice themselves for the other; the parting between the First Doctor and Susan is very touching.
It’s funny it was only after 10 started hugging everyone that I started to notice how there is almost no physical contact between the Dr and his companions in the old series.
Mel saying she'll stick a postcard in a bottle and throw it into space ...sounds like a perfect setup for bringing her back on the show for an episode :D
Saddest one to me wasn’t even one I could see but simply hear and that was Charlie's letter to the doctor in the audio the Girl who never was. Without spoiling it a misunderstand and the doctor thinks she left hating him.

Martha and Sarah Jane are the best ones. Martha chosing herself is the best thing ever. And Sarah Jane showing us the hardest part of being a Time Lord friend was something we needed to understand the Doctor and his complicated relationship with Gallifrey.
It’s The 3rd Doctor’s sad walk back to UNIT HQ alone that does it for me. Joe was one of the few companions he had real romantic affection for, but unlike with Ten and Rose, he actually got to make the decision to let Joe go to a man who could give her the life she really wanted.

Sadly enough that scene is the most real because he really had lost his friends. Fortunately, Pertwee never stopped loving the Doctor as he loan's "Betsy" for the 4th Doctor's first story and then again for the Brig's last on air story with the 7th Doc.

Plenty of characters written that they were in love with the Doctor, but you can feel it in Billy's eyes. There were plenty of characters that genuinely loved the Doctor, and great performances of that, but no other performance was convincing that someone was IN LOVE with the Doctor. Not Amy, not River, not Sarah Jane........okay Cpt. Jack Harkness too technically, he convincingly had the hots for the Doc at least.

First watched, Matt smith in season 7 so the first emotional goodbye for me was Amy, Roy and Clara. Seeing our favourite companions go is never easy.

To me the saddest companion farewell was the Ponds and Susan leaving.
Billie Piper's performance as Rose is incredible, and that goodbye, it is so real. Bravo! Best companion.

@@animelovers000 To each their own. But Piper's performance is the only one that convincingly portrays someone romantically in Love with the Doctor.
Plenty of characters written that they were in love with the Doctor, but you can feel it in Billy's eyes. There were plenty of characters that genuinely loved the Doctor, and great performances of that, but no other performance was convincing that someone was IN LOVE with the Doctor. Not Amy, not River, not Sarah Jane........okay Cpt. Jack Harkness too technically, he convincingly had the hots for the Doc at least.
