I used to watch all these guys growing up, Bill Alexander and Bob Ross Saturday afternoons on public television. Such great times. This takes me back 🔙❤️☺️
I remember watching these a long time ago. Never thought I would see them again. Thanks for posting and please continue! Bill is so funny and a great artist.
He is a great artist...but I can't help but to wonder if Bob Ross didn't betray him. It seems Bob's wording, paint colours, the beater rush set up and even his red signature are identical to Bill's. I mean they are both gone now and you shouldn't speak ill of the dead (which I'm not), and they were certainly both very talented (although I think Bill Alexander is the winner of the two); but it just makes you wonder. 🤔
Thanks so much for posting these! I've had Alexanders unmistakable voice in my head telling me about "Happy Little Trees" for decades, and its great to hear and see him again.
I know, I used to watch Bob Ross all the time, but I wasn't watching his teacher. My dad painted a lot and come to think of it, I really only remember him using a pallet knife. It's kind of like Canadian carpenters...they often do finishing work with a chain saw 😳 ... that's mind blowing.
Again,Todd, thank you for posting this painting class. My life is terrible right now and looking at this video is up lifting. Winter is my favorite time of the year. Thank you for brightening up my day...thank you. Is it me, or is that painting at the end a different painting? I know he does 2 or 3 different paintings per show, one for illustration and one for doneness for illustration...but the colours in this illustrated painting seems brighter than the one at the end...plus there are 3 big trees in this painting and 2 at the end...or am I seeing things?
@NWO Official 666 👎. Not sure what you meant but it probably was as cool as your statement above. My real mother's name was 'Rinderer'...hateful Germans are a thing of the past. Get with it 'honey'. 'Calvi' is my foster mother's name. You are insulting all Germans.
@NWO Official 666 it was challenging to say the least growing up with Italians because they are emotional...but I guess Germans are as well. I was glad to have both worlds.
@NWO Official 666my foster mother's family was from Palermo, Sicily. I never quite understood why the Italians and the Sicilians didn't quite see eye to eye, but don't ever tell and Italian they look Sicilian😂.
@NWO Official 666 based on how unimpressed with what you said, I will not agree with you. I will say that you appear to be quite bigoted and if that's why you said what you did, I am just glad I am not a bigot with stupid stereotypical ideas. I am very proud of my heritage and growing up in a Sicilian home was quite the experience.
ua-cam.com/video/KO4Q66VYgZE/v-deo.html He too got it backwards...he seems to show how wonderful and nice Bob is (he may have been), and seems to show what a jerk Alexander was. I can see why he thought he was betrayed. Bill didn't have white hair either. I no longer like Patton Oswalt.
So much lighter, cleaner, and finer than that sloppy, muddy, heavy shit that Bobby Ross slaps on... This is the finer technique that Ross could never quite get a handle on. Bill Alexander was the one true master of the 30 minute landscape painting, by far the most realistic.

Thank you for putting these up . Wish they would put them all up on the official youtube channel
I have been watching you for many years and at age 90 you still inspire e to paint my last masterpiece.
I watched William Alexander in the 80s and was inspired. Bob Ross always felt like an imitator to me.
Which he was.

It is like watching magic, he runs the brush and knife across the canvas and beautiful details seem to just happen
I like how his German words sometimes pops in the flow :D

Always a pleasure time with such a great artist
Just discovered Bill Alexander. He’s great! Thanks keep them coming if possible. So good.
