Actually this is all wrong, the 70lbs and 84 grith is the max limit of any package to use with USPS, but if your package exceeds 1600 sq inch you will be charged extra for the size, anything less thank 1600 sq inch there's no extra charge for the size.
Take the weight out too. I did one by accident that I didn't enter anything other than what was already in the boxes, and it only shipped for 7 something. I thought I would be charged more, but they never did. And the package was delivered fine.
I'm so sick of complaining emails from customers about shipping. I don't set rates post office does. but this u tube post sheds some light on the situation. thank you! So I tried this hack. erased dimensions and boom est. ship cost cut in half for bigger packages. current listings would not let me change settings on items with bids. understandable. I always try to ship to save my customers money.
Question for you - why did you list it up top with shipping policy as FEDEX listed to buyer? Why not just know ahead of time and list priority in listing? Thank you!
I heard you say a few times that your package was 4.6 ounces, was that correct? Your weight actually says 4 pounds 6oz, that alone would cause a misunderstanding, if it was 4.6 oz then send it first class!, Anything under 1lb is super cheap no matter what size it is when you go fist class. As for changing up the shipping; watch out though, some people do not get mail delivery and only have a po box - so it will get sent back to you and make the customer furious if they thing it was supposed to go fedex.
But fedex doesnt damage packages as often as usps, Also I'm shocked that it lets you change the shipping carrier and settings after the ebay customer payed for shipping, so there is nothing stopping someone from fudging the numbers a bit and setting the shipping cost really high, then after they buy it picking the cheapest shipping possible and keeping the extra money? If I saw I was getting fedex shipping and I got usps instead I would be mad even if it comes 1-2 days earlier then expected. Also usps priority may say 1-3 buisness days but that actually means 3 buisness days if you are really lucky, it's most often 4 buisness days sometimes 5.
I’m sure the guy in the video tells his customers that he’s worked to get cheaper postage for them and that they’ll be getting their package earlier than originally stated, I know I’d tell my customers!!

What you showing is the old classic way of doing shipping - the new way I dont think allows you to leave 0's in the measurements. I hate when they change things that have been fine, but thanks for the info.

I think they caught onto it. I don’t think they do that anymore.
You should read about dimmable weight and size on Google. It should explain why you are being charged more.

Try using a 1 in each box....I think that may work but I can't be sure as I have not used it yet
