- The NEW Silverado 2500HD Silverado ZR2 is here and Chevrolet brought the goods for 2024. On the outside you will find an extra lift, red tow hooks , and unique 18in wheels. On the inside you will be greeted by a leather interior, digital gauge cluster and large infotainment system. Under the hood is a Duramax V8 paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. If you get the gasser it’s really not bad at all. I’m probably gonna throw 30k down and finance the rest. I’m 36. Anybody my age who has a decent job should be able to swing that. I don’t think I’m that abnormal. 110k salary, no kids. Wife is a nurse and makes 96k.

As long as there are folks out there willing to pay these ridiculous prices, these manufacturers will continue to charge absorbent amounts. 80k for a truck is insane.
@@markk764It’s $808 a month. I got 3% interest through my credit union. I have no student loans. My part of mortgage is $1200 a month. I max out my IRA the 1st of every year and max out my 401k every year. Put as much as I can in my brokerage account. I’ll be retired at 58. I grew up extremely poor in East TN, joined the Army, went to college on GI Bill and got into Biotech. Nobody helped me make those decisions. Just take a little bit of ownership of your life and stop blaming everyone else. 72K is a decent price for this truck.
Brother Joe those are 34 and half inches or so. It’s the half ton ZR2 that comes with 33s. None the less this is a bad ass truck and the paint combo is very cool.

Awesome big boy truck (big toys for big boys), it is a bit expensive but its is a 2500HD so it is a stump puller with a great diesel engine and transmission. If it was only a 1500 Silverado I would say (no way) is it worth the $80,000+ price tag. More and more car the pickup prices are stupidly high today. Dont hear people bitching about 100k Macon's, 100 plus vets and other sport models plus 85 k suvs. If your a truck guy this is practical
For daily use and offroad. I own one and never regretted getting 2500 hd zr2 turbo diesel. This is 3/4 ton 18000 lb rated trailering plus offroad capable.
As of this evening, it looks like the dealer has that truck listed at over $90k.

Exactly why I decided to go with the Ram 2500 Power Wagon. It looks great, has better off road capabilities, and the dealer sold me a 23 for $15K under the $83265 MSRP. The Chevy ZR2's are great trucks, but when the payments come in, it makes a difference. p.s., the Ram has a great interior and technology too.
Imagine getting suckered into financing this thing, making the worst investment of your life. Good luck to the sucker. They've done lost their minds with these prices 😂

If I was GM I’d raise prices every single year if folks are going to buy it. Then there’s buyers saying, oh you’re complaining about the cost cause you can’t afford it, lol. So they over pay to be able to show that they can afford a 100k truck, smh. Got to love the way companies take advantage of folks mindset.

@@RaitisRides it’s our new work horse we were worried how it was gonna tow but it does great for anyone worried about how the suspension affects tow!
On the fence but I’m either going to order ZR2 or a High Country soon. Gas either way for me. ZR2 would be a bit unique but the high country with blue interior has me interested as well to set it apart from most. You can black out those badges with a package selection.

No truck is worth as much as a house used to cost in the 1980's....insane. also, who actually needs a ginormous truck? I love that chevy calls one of their Silverado the trail boss! What freaking trail is that going to fit in or on??
Things have changed and not for the better Tony!
You can still buy the base model my guy which actually has been cheaper adjusted for inflation.
New trims for top of the line have been made hence the AVERAGE going up. But starting point has kept with inflation.
Back then you had maybe 2-3 trims. Now you got 10
comparing the 80s to 2024 is insane!......cannot compare prices from 50years ago, every single product has shot up in cost.....including houses

I had one of these awesome trucks on order, but ended up getting a 2023 Ram Power Wagon for about $20K cheaper. Great review as always. Chevy makes a great truck. I had a 2020 Trail Boss with a 6.2 that had zero problems. The new Ram Power Wagon has a winch and front lockers. Hi Lori. Happy New Year to you both. If possible, do another Power Wagon review. It's been about 3 years since your last. Twinkies for all..!!!

I have a 2018 Power Wagon. I'm switching to the ZR2 2500 for towing capacity. The Power wagon only tows 10,500, the ZR2 tows 18,500. Not sure why Ram can't figure out a way to make a Power Wagon that can tow.
@@tyleradair8084 They did kinda,,, they have the Ram 2500 Rebel. It has the Cummins turbo diesel. It has a little over 16K towing capacity. I do like the ZR2, they are great trucks, but the money just was a factor. Good luck with your new truck. I know it will treat you right.

Only trucks worth the money were the raptor and trx and that was only before they jacked up the price on both. Every other truck on the market is not worth the price. Paying extra for a diesel is absolutely worth it, but trucks in general are not worth their absurd msrp
and the TRX is being discontinued......

They make a black badge package for this truck I believe its called "dark essentials" (like 250$) but it should just be standard on this color and the silver.

Had three Silverado HDs, most recent, a 2019 LT, great truck, but i got tired of 11 MPG, bought a Tundra Limited Crewmax, 6.5 ft bed, LOVE IT, and i'm averaging 18MPG,

Ye, they look great. But for 90 K, man that's a lot money. They are also available in Australia, limited market. They have been converted to RHD, the conversion is amazing you wouldn't think it has been converted, has GM backing and warranty. They are 163 K, Australian dollars, around 110 USD. price is alot better than Ford or Ram......76k if you get the gas version and probably get a few grand off, not cheap but not ultra stupid like 105k......Chevy is best bang per buck in full size market....my 23 H.C. 2500 was 67k before TTL

Median US household income $74,580... These prices are absurd. Buy a work truck, throw on some aftermarket bling if that's your thing and save a boatload. Non-HD gasser would be more versatile and capable for actual off-road use anyways. Lets be honest, 90% of the people paying these prices aren't taking them off pavement.
