I couldn’t agree with you more. I live in the state where these trucks are filmed and the average of house around here has skyrocketed, average is $500k! In order to get one of these would mean to not buy a house and eat less! 😅😅😅
Only $100,000. Finally, these are the trucks that we all can afford! What great value, how do these companies manage to stay in business by providing so much value for so little money. The sarcasm just keeps dripping like honey.
On the Ford, If you lightly hold the break you will actuate the front limited slip axle.
Great video guys. You two guys working together is very entertaining.
I would love to see this ame challenge done with old diesels. LB7 vs 7.3 power stroke vs the 24V Cummins. That would be a legendary video.
Of the 2 tires the Duratrac is the better snow tire. It's not the tires, it's the drivers.
The Duratrac is typically snow flake rated and has much mote tread depth than the Territory MT has.
100k for a truck is just mind blowing to me.
You can buy a nice used 18 wheeler set up for that
Wait 5 years when they get to $150k if we don’t hit the rest button soon!
Im more of a Ford truck guy but that GMC looks like it did much better going up the hills got stuck much less. Hard to believe its just the tires...wow.
It has a specific crawl mode that for some reason these guys aren't talking about.
Please start doing these off road comparisons with the same exact tires. So we can really know whats what
8:12 Andrea that Tremor has Locking Hubs. You were in Auto on the Hubs. That might have helped you get through.
Real world we carry tire chains for the rear wheels. Easy in that little snow
If Nathan doesn't want to drive the truck, I'll be happy to fill in. It's called "hammer down"
nice to see all that rust and corrosion already in the undershot @:55
I hope I’m correct but the auto industries pricing should be correcting in 2024. Very interested in the new pickups, but I feel these trucks are worth 70k max
Def overpriced
They won't be. As long as people are still stupid enough to keep getting 6 7 8 9 year loans on vehicles they have no incentive to lower prices.
Low 90's really because they are 3/4 ton luxury and off roady. But breaking 100 is just adding insult to inflation.
@@Kahless00
Exactly right, as long as people keep buying the prices will keep going up.
Even though I could I never would. But I'll never buy new to begin with, it's too much money lost buying new.
Doubt the pricing is going lower anytime soon, with this new UAW contract that was recently signed.
Good video! Tires definitely makes a difference. Actually like to see em put on on different tires to test while taking this trucks out places like this. For example, The Falken ATW3s would be perfect for this
I love both trucks, but I would probably go with the tremor. How come they didn't air down the PSI? I think they would have made it through the spots they got stuck.
Foot print of the skinnier tire is probably better, or the same. Nathan has better pedal control.
I love you guys. Love the Channel! Love the trucks! I love it when Andre says: 1,200 pound-feet of Torgue!
*Torque.
Lol at getting a GMC Sierra commercial in the middle of a F250 vs Sierra side by side comparison/review
" Because we need darkness in our lives... " famous quote by Nathan ! 😂
Definitely would have been a different result on both trucks if you had let some air out of the tires.
AND MOMENTUM
Idk why they don't just buy a good compressor and actually offroad like people do IRL
Love this content so enjoyable. Hope to see the gmc 1500 aev in deep snow vs the raptor and Trx.
Still love my 2022 chevy Silverado trail boss 1500 with a 6.2 .
Have you taken it offroading yet?
I've got a 19 Trailboss 5.3L . Love it. It's done some fairly serious offloading. 60k miles and going.
Would be nice to see the new trucks vs older trucks like this. I bet the old Chevy Andre had years ago(GMT800) would have done the same no problem.
These things are monsters size wise. Once they start sliding it’s going to be tough to get them to stop. I think the best Looking truck out there today is the Sierra. I have no use for a full size truck. But if I did. That Ford transmission pan is fully exposed.
Gmc is so much better looking
I’d honestly like to see this done with the same tires and being that it’s in the snow, something that is 3 peak mountain snowflake rated. I’ve used Falken AT3W and the MT Baja Boss A/T in winters checking and feeding cattle before and loved them. That being said I wasn’t trying to climb trails lol 😂
The Duratrac in the LT285/75R18 is snow rated. The M/T is not, which is interesting.
@@harlandurant7014 true, but it looks like a lot of packed snow that turned into ice, so unless you have studs. not to mention cold rubber acts very different than a warm tire. think of hockey puck versus eraser.
Both of these are using STOCK tires. Great to see both manufacturers offering excellent, appropriate choices with their off-road packages instead of plain highway all-seasons. With dedicated winters or using chains this would be a very different story and I still think it would be neck-and-neck on this course. Bravo @TFLoffroad for doing an interesting and much needed comparison!
@@harlandurant7014The Mickey Thompson Baja Boss is winter rated just like the Falkens.
@@harlandurant7014 I am running the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T in 295/70/R18 and they are 3 peak rated tires.
Y'all had me Clinch Eastwood with this one lol
I do belive the ford does have auto 4x4 when it is in slippery mode? Correct me if I'm wrong but that's how the 2020 version was.
Not seeing the Torsen Limited slip in the front axle of the Ford engage. Great test.
I run them in my K30, you need rpm to get them to lock up or ur pooched. Except Im driving a truck with the resale value of a dozen eggs, point and send, I gotta try really hard to get even close to getting stuck.
You two are great! I always enjoy a review from you guys! Keep it up!!
I have had 2 sets of e rated duratracs i normally run them at 65 to 70 psi but during the winter months I will run them at 40 and thats makes a huge difference without any noticeable wear or squat. I will air the rear tires up if i have to haul or pull something heavy
Airing down would really help.
Im quite confident my 77 K30 would have caked walked through that, Iv recovered downed bull elk in much worse terrain than that with no issues.
I know both are in stock form which is the point of the video. But let’s but the same tires on each truck and see if there is a difference. Great video
Need these tests with same driver ,same path, same exact tire. Please. Also lower tire pressure next time in snow please ,it will help a lot
I enjoy the ranch a ton, but for some reason I'm reminiscent about all the old trails you fellas would go up🤷
This isn’t the ranch, it’s a local mountain trail.
@@garysarratt1 I know, that's what inspired my comment sir. They used to go run on a whack of trails and this brought back memories of the days before the washout. The ranch is fantastic as a test grounds, I just enjoy the scenery and random misadventures that are not Tommy's Demise🤣😂
@@coryernewein Oh I gotcha, sorry about that.
As the owner of a ZR2, no way, lol. At least not in the snow. Great Video! Would love to see these at Moab or in the dry at least. Living in the Midwest mine wont be on Rocks like this but in hills with dirt, rocks and roots.
Andre panicking will forever be funny to me.
The 2500HD ZR2 non AEV edition is actually a pretty solid deal. They're going for mid 80s with a diesel here which is cheaper then RAM/Fords mid level trim HD trucks
The 4wd system in the GMs has always been better. This video clearly demonstrates that
I own the gmc and its huge... forget parking in any normal parking space unless its empty on both sides. But if you need to tow heavy shit like 5th wheels and livestock youll never find a more comfortable and capable highway time machine
I am actually in the market for one of these. I am a Ford guy and will probably go that direction but the GMC is nice.
Nathan give a listen to seether brused and bloody, that's how I felt watching. Can't believe that you made it..amazing
Great video gentlemen! These trucks are both out of my price range lol so cool to see what it would be like to take them out
This is why you don't go off-roading with 100k $ new trucks.. way too stressful.
Take one of Dave's old trucks up there and have fun
"I like the funky dancing too, that really helps." LMAO!!!
non-offroader here with a dumb question: why would offroad focused vehicles have shock mounting points that dip SO LOW below the axel? would't it make more sense, from a clearance perspective, to mount them above the axel to inprove clearance?
Because they aren't dedicated offroad trucks, they are tow rigs with offroad capabilities.
But it would be nice to have them in a more ideal location for clearance.
Should test either of those turbo diesel’s to the equivalent gasser on same trail on same day. It’s been my experience that trying to “finesse” a “Turbo powered” anything through technical trails adds substantial difficulty.
Love turbo power on road, hate them off road.
You guys make too notch videos and you do so much research for your content! Bravo.
Off-road feature is over rated for all the HD and SD. Most truck makers DO NOT test their trucks on an extreme conditions let alone weight distributions. Most engineers are there to put together tough pick-up words to please buyer's ear so they can annually increase prices.
Thank you guys. Great job.
Not aired down enough with those tires. E-rated tires are 65psi, but you should be running them at 18-20 psi in the snow.
ford use locking hub for the front axle, did you use it. might have done a huge difference. as other said also, tire pressure make a big difference too
Trucks, snow, leather jacket, Copenhagen, boots, lift, winch, dogs, girls hummed like any country song you have ever heard.
I think the tires & the shocks as well gave a slight edge to the gmc
The tremor seems to be almost like a regular f250 with a winch in the bumper and a sticker on the bed.
Im buying the GMC AT4X AEV. It has a steel composite skid plates and those awesome reservoir shocks and crawl mode, all under factory warranty which my dealership provides a lifetime powertrain warranty.
The GM made it look easy, i was surprised the ford struggled so much.
Fun experiences that show the power of the truck. I am a Ford fan 👍
Sorry you’re a Ford fan. You clearly don’t make good choices in life.
Go drive both, that ford feels better
@@wint_62what does it matter to you what he likes?
What tire pressures were you guys running. Deflating tires gives you more rock climbing
ability
like a 3/4 4x4 single cab 8' box 138" wb not as big as a crew cab with 8' box has a 172" wb , one needs a 5 pass crew cab and tows heavy loads and does lot of long highway driving away from cities , the crew cab works
Andre needed to give the Tremor a little brake to "lock up" the front diff.
Just amazing how nice these trucks are. I prefer the Ford when driving, have driven both. I think the ford has better visibility and I really like fords heads up display, it’s crisper and overall a little nicer layout.
But… the GMC is less expensive.. I just priced out the AT4x. I can get one for $95,000. The Ford Platinum loaded Tremor is $103,000.
I have G80 locker on my Colorado and love it.
That G stands for grenade just give it time
@@freedomisntfree_44 G80's have been around for a very long time and I have never had a problem with them.
