To correct it: Workers should not have any power to try and force better pay and/or working conditions because they eagerly signed a contract to be paid a wage they agreed to based on the hours worked, other aspects of the position are included in said contract. a breach of said contract terminates the employment unless agreed upon by both parties. Both parties should be happy with w/e was stipulated in the contract but if ether side decides to break it, the position can and will be terminated. Good point. Most societies, even oppressive ones, have to strike a balance. However, when one ground has so much power, they can't imagine an opposition or even related to the plight of those under them, they're are rife for social unrest. So these companies are only going to make themselves more hated and targeted by government intervention, worker strikes, and customer backlash. Yes, corporations did declare wars on unions and they are being helped by your politicians you elected to public offices. You elect the politicians and the corporations buy them in office.
Let's see how it is in the United States. in my country, the previous government raised the minimum wage following the wishes of the workers because they were the main voters of the ruling party. many companies reduced factories with many workers and became importers. this caused a lot of unemployment. many imports caused the value of my country's currency to fall. I don't know what will happen to the United States and its dollar, maybe inflation will rise because it will print more money for import needs. but now, 20 years later, many workers' children have become entrepreneurs because there are very few jobs as laborers. but unfortunately the entrepreneurs are importers.
That’s what is happening in California now that they raised the minimum wage to $20; huge numbers of workers are being laid off and businesses are investing in robots and leaving the state in droves
Unions are a good idea, but Union management in big Business is has has been corrupt, and not looking out for their workers! The last UAW strike as an example, has demanded such large wage increase it will cost any workers their jobs!

Florida has now become the 2nd state to stop local governments from requiring heat protection for outdoor workers. I live in NW Florida & some days I don't even want to go outside.
Unions should only be allowed to address safety concerns. It’s insane that literally every employee should get the same pay raise. The lazy unmotivated employee gets the same raise as the employee that takes pride in their work? No way. You should be paid your worth. If your employer doesn’t pay you what you feel you’re worth, leave and work for your worth somewhere else. If you can’t find better pay, you’re being paid your worth. Unions, especially the UAW is nothing less than a socialist group of moochers.
Just a tip.... You might want to either speak up or tone your music down. Your pitch matches the music to where I'm struggling to listen to both when I'm trying to listen to you
Slaves have no choice. American workers have choices; they can leave the job if they don’t like it. Government union workers get fantastic benefits and pensions that nobody in the private sector gets. Pensions are the #1 reason so many cities have declared bankruptcy. Pensions consumed 3% of Los Angeles’ budget 20 years ago and now take 30% of the budget leaving less and less for the actual services that cities exist to provide. A huge disparity between government jobs vs private sector jobs
What could go wrong with corporations having total power, no river has caught on fire since 1969, no striking work has been killed since 1974, it's not like states like Iowa, Missouri, Ohio, and Arkansas would change child labor laws so companies could legally hire(some undocumented migrant)children. Labor unions have given every worker things, like Weekends off work, all of your breaks at work, including your lunch breaks, Paid vacation, Sick leave, Social Security, Minimum wage, 8-hour workday, Overtime pay, Child labor laws, OSHA, The 40-hour work week, Workers’ compensation (workers’ comp) Unemployment insurance, Pensions, Workplace safety standards and regulations, employer health care insurance, Holiday pay Corporations and our government have given us 40 pulse years of trickle-down economics, now how is that working out, The US went from around 400 billionaires in 2010 to 813 billionaires in 2024
As long as free trade is a part of US policy no union with a US based business will be financially viable if the product can be sourced far cheaper abroad. This has fostered a race to the bottom in quality all across the board that has crippled the US auto repair market, and led to a steep decline in all quality from outsourced components. Unions are good if they are protecting workers rights. They are no good if they are going to sink a company due to competition from non unionized companies that can provide a far cheaper product.
Thank you for the clarification because most people don’t understand the nuance of balance between the two. There has been a clear race to the bottom with quality of most products these days.
Right, but wouldn’t that really only effect mostly factory union jobs? What about electricians plumbers carpenters? The trade unions? I’ve worked on construction sites for almost 20 years in New York City and most of these men are professionals, highly skilled at their jobs, safe working environments, good wages, ect. If a company or corporation could pay their workers less, chances are they usually would
@@SightsNScapes It can affect construction also. My uncle owned an ironworking company that was unionized. Local non union companies put him out of business. On the other hand my father retired from Panelized structures, and my mother retired from UPS. You cant just blanket statement something that can be affected by local circumstances.
Corporations are also has the flexibility of any Governmrnt, and in most cases less flexibility. Democracy tends to force groups to be flexible, or who is in charge will lose the next, thus Government like Unions tend to be more flexible then corporations.

Yep. This is how we got a Pinkerton incident.
The problem is, this Supreme Court doesn't respect precedent. 😒
Any bad precedent ??
How do you answer the question of constantly improving profits without exploitation of everything possible
Yes, corporations did declare wars on unions and they are being helped by your politicians you elected to public offices. You elect the politicians and the corporations buy them in office.
Since unions have gone out of their way to destroy business, why is it a bad thing for business to do the same to unions?
I've been saying, "progress dies at the Virginia state line"...
Yes, how dare workers defend themselves and establish their own conditions and terms.
Well, that explains all the "It's a job. They're not your friends, don't hang out with them after work--go home" Memes.
2024 Slogan: "MAKE AMERICA DECENT AGAIN, RFK ALL The Way...! "
Nice a Spencer segment!
Corporations never care nor cry over your demise
The problem with Starbucks is their overpriced coffee, not their corporate practices. Save some money by brewing your own coffee, or better yet cutting down on caffeine
Roger that!
People act surprised when a company acts in its own interests
The well-trained law obeying slaves 💘 capitalism.. 💵💵💯💯😂😂
So corps made billions soaking up the capital now that the unions want some too . They would rather close up.
"The 1% are powerful, *when* the 99% are *organized* and *prepared* to fight they are way more powerful" ~ Bernie Sanders.
Top VS bottom, not left VS right. Class war not culture wars.
Bernie endorsed Cuba
Any job that can be done virtually could open the door to many with disabilities here in the US. More likely, though, those jobs will be outsourced internationally to avoid paying higher American wages.
Thank You for this video, straight to the point on info in 11 minutes. Many people today don't know this history, but it's important to know, to be aware. You may think that because we have laws and boards to protect us/workers, no need to worry. But understand, that there are companies/corporations out there that have an agenda to stop any kind of rights, labour organizing, or whatever that they don't entirely control, and they have the money lobby there desires, and politicians in their pockets 🟪
I didn’t know anti-union consultant was a job. It’s like you are rewarded for being depraved
Florida has now become the 2nd state to stop local governments from requiring heat protection for outdoor workers. I live in NW Florida & some days I don't even want to go outside.

Reverse Uno card, corporations are anti-constitutional.
This was great. Thank you.
Very informative, insightful summary of NLRB history.
Always remember how power deals with strikes when people tell you that employment is voluntary in the US.
The music is way to loud 🔊📢📢🔊.....

Good one , except usually listen to podcasts while running
Ask a Kroger worker about a union
Loved it when I was there ?
Good video
Offshoring, the unmentioned result of industral strife. Always a way out for the boards of directors eh?
Just a tip.... You might want to either speak up or tone your music down. Your pitch matches the music to where I'm struggling to listen to both when I'm trying to listen to you
You CANNOT make another video where you play a guy singing in the background while you speak. I was losing my mind.
As a Boilermaker in Geneva Ohio we're not allowed to strike.
What could go wrong with corporations having total power, no river has caught on fire since 1969, no striking work has been killed since 1974, it's not like states like Iowa, Missouri, Ohio, and Arkansas would change child labor laws so companies could legally hire(some undocumented migrant)children.
Labor unions have given every worker things, like Weekends off work, all of your breaks at work, including your lunch breaks, Paid vacation, Sick leave, Social Security, Minimum wage, 8-hour workday, Overtime pay, Child labor laws, OSHA, The 40-hour work week, Workers’ compensation (workers’ comp) Unemployment insurance, Pensions, Workplace safety standards and regulations, employer health care insurance, Holiday pay
Corporations and our government have given us 40 pulse years of trickle-down economics, now how is that working out, The US went from around 400 billionaires in 2010 to 813 billionaires in 2024
People who make defending a Billionaire a large part of their personality are genuinely weird

Declare war? More like continuing the offensive!
Nothing different. There has always been a conflict between companies and labor. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
@@grndzro777 how true, that’s a good insight, certain area’s/states don’t have the same labor laws, strong unions ect
Am I wrong to think that one of the lessons learned at an MBA school is how to stifle labor demands and costs?
Everyone is pro union till you actually to do business with a union shop. About as efficient as the government.
Corporations are also has the flexibility of any Governmrnt, and in most cases less flexibility. Democracy tends to force groups to be flexible, or who is in charge will lose the next, thus Government like Unions tend to be more flexible then corporations.
