This is one reason why they are obsessed with importing illegal residents. They are not covered by labor protection laws. Hence also why they exempted farm workers, which are largely migrant laborers. The businesses would much prefer a labor force that has the perennial threat of deportation that they can pay under the table. American businesses also love using H1B workers, because nothing says "don't complain," like a permanent reminder that your residency is tied to your continued employment under the company that imported you to work for them. The more the labor laws are strengthened, expect this trend to continue in parallel.

That is just a biased and myopic interpretation of a "Corporations argument". To correct it: Workers should not have any power to try and force better pay and/or working conditions because they eagerly signed a contract to be paid a wage they agreed to based on the hours worked, other aspects of the position are included in said contract. a breach of said contract terminates the employment unless agreed upon by both parties. Both parties should be happy with w/e was stipulated in the contract but if ether side decides to break it, the position can and will be terminated. The workers can break the contract at any point and leave, the company can only offer a better contract to keep them, if the worker is worth a better contract.

The corporate war against the working class has gone on since corporations started.
    Nothing new here.
It's a matter of how the power pendulem swings at any moment.
And the pendulem has swung towards corporations big time since 1980 when Reagan took office and started his war on the working class which continued for a dozen years thru the first Bush administration. When Reagan came to office in 1980 30% of American workers were in unions. That number was down to 10% by the time the first Bush left office.
After that, with unions historically weak in the US, corporations were able to get away with implementing globalization which ruined the working class in America. Not to mention treasonously weakening American economic power in the world by sending all of our manufacturing to China to make a quick, dirty buck on low Chinese wages, low Chinese taxes and the ability to pollute in China with impunity, turning China into a sewer.
And, the working class has only continued to get weaker since then as, once unions were weakened to the point where they could no longer properly finance the Democratic Party in elections, the Democrats went to the traditional Republican donors, the rich, the multinationals, the banksters, big Pharma, etc (they always had AIPAC and the arms manufacturers as their donors). The upshot of all this is that the 99% have had ZERO representation in the US government since 1992 when the unions couldn't afford to support Clinton/Gore and, really, since 1980 when Reagan began his reign of terror against the American working class

Why do you think you're seeing this migrant surge happening right now? LOL. Totally contrived by government, NGOs and Global Corporatists. This isn't new. It's basically the history of the 19th Century replaying itself. The corporate structure knows how to handle it when workers start getting the upper hand.
Having said that, everybody involved needs a history lesson. Ford fought unionization so hard, he forged (arguably) the strongest and most effective union in U.S. history. Workers have made the mistake of creating a dynamic that stifles innovation and technological change to the point the industry is no longer competitive (steel). Then the jobs go away anyhow.

I don't know what will happen to the United States and its dollar, maybe inflation will rise because it will print more money for import needs. but now, 20 years later, many workers' children have become entrepreneurs because there are very few jobs as laborers. but unfortunately the entrepreneurs are importers.

My husband and I have started and sold two small businesses. Even starting out we never paid less than 15 an hour in 2009….
If u can’t scale, price correctly and make profit, not revenue, you have zero right to be in business. Just accept your shit at it.
This is why I see so many 2ns and 3rd generation owners just run shit into the ground…the brains were with the founders.

Issue the oligarchs pushing for stripping worker protections seem to ignore:
Labor protections are not just meant to protect workers but also employers and society as a whole. They give a recourse, albeit toothless today, for workers besides pitchforks, workers fighting their managers outside the lot to collect backpay, etc.
If they go, people who are facing hunger or eviction will be cornered and that can lead to more violence.

Good point. Most societies, even oppressive ones, have to strike a balance. Unless they are completely tyrannical and ruled by fear (which is limited, see Assyrian Empire, see Russian Empire, see Romania under communism). However, when one ground has so much power, they can't imagine an opposition or even related to the plight of those under them, they're are rife for social unrest. So these companies are only going to make themselves more hated and targeted by government intervention, worker strikes, and customer backlash. And they won't get lean on their branding as "progressive" or "forward thinking" anymore.

Thank You for this video, straight to the point on info in 11 minutes. Many people today don't know this history, but it's important to know, to be aware. You may think that because we have laws and boards to protect us/workers, no need to worry. But understand, that there are companies/corporations out there that have an agenda to stop any kind of rights, labour organizing, or whatever that they don't entirely control, and they have the money lobby there desires, and politicians in their pockets 🟪
