- Today i had some new mufflers put back on the Audi.
The Muffler delete with cat-less downpipes sounded so good! But the drone in the car was unbearable at times!
This setup should be perfect but who knows i'll probably change it again.

I personally don't mind drone. My current car has a secondary cat delete and muffler delete. I kinda like the drone when all the windows are up, still allows me to hear the car. I've taken it on 1 or 2 longer distance drives and it wasn't that bad to listen to while on the highway

I have resonators delete and x pipe on factory mufflers and its perfect intake is done and a dyno tune. I havent done pully or crank wheels yet.
Look at Polo exhaust, there’s no rear mufflers but they have some anti rasp chambers in place of where the rear mufflers should be. Sounds SO good
On the subject of drone.
I've got a B8.5 with Borla catback (#140403), they come with non resonated downpipes and I also have a custom center section with no resonator, so all it has right now is cats, an x-pipe, and rear mufflers. Tbh, while it's raspier than I would like, the drone, while certainly there isn't even close to being loud enough to bother me. These cars are pretty heavy and well insulated, but modding a stock exhaust system is always going to be a gamble based on what you're removing. OEM systems are designed to be quiet, removing one part of that can highlight very unpleasant frequencies that the removed component was there to silence. It will always require a bit of research or willingness to experiment to find what works.

I about to do rear muffler delete but i have drilled out cats so still there. Front two mufflers and resonator still
I got a muffler delete on my A6 and it’s vibrates is that normal
What size tyres are you running? Also do you have any spacers? I really like how the wheel fills the wheel arch!

I had that same issue with an A4 build. The drone was too much and I had to get change the exhaust again...
What kind of Rims are that they are nice please send me the brand and name of those rims

Lovely colour. My turbo muffler delete is on the way. To be honest, the tone of original exhaust is lovely.. I think the desire to sound like a super car is there for everyone with a fast car .. but see listening to an obnoxiously loud car, it's just hell. Silence is lovely, pound it and hear her roar.. that's the way to do it.
As a noob. Is the soundeffect of a muffler delete the same as making a bypass valve with remote controle to open and close?
Definitely not! the valves allow more flow but definitely not as much flow as no mufflers at all :)

Thanks for this video. I bought a Mazdaspeed3 with no muffler.. its been about a year, and its just.. too loud. I’ve been debating on getting a muffler installed. It does sound good, but it sounds like an obnoxious V8 especially on cold starts.

Hey amazing video really appreciate that you were specific about the RPM and speed band where the drones were. I was thinking about only getting a muffler delete. I usually drive in automatic and always smooth on the pedal on my way to work. Do you think the drone would be horrible still? I heard that if you keep the stock resonator but have a muffler delete the drone isn’t too bad.

It isn't too bad but in this version of the car i think i also had the IE downpipes on which make it louder again. But no doubt with these cars, remove the muffler there IS drone.
Just got my muffler delete and tbh when on the highway or going 50 plus it has little to no drone tbh also depends on how u gassing it but even when there’s drone it sounds nice it’s a deep tone and overall not that loud, the supercharger noise is way louder than the drone from the exhaust
Keeping the resonators helps drone.

Could be many things! I’d have a mechanic look at the suspension components / bushes etc all that stuff on the front left side to make sure nothing is worn out :)

Bro turn off your soundaktor if you want less drone it will help a lot because the soundaktor pumps noise in to the cabin to turn it off use obd11

@@macedon666 With this setup yes but i took it for an alignment and they slightly lifted it for me :)

Just do research on mufflers some mufflers do give the car a bass tone that makes it drone even more

Removing the cats? 1000000000000000000% makes it sound like shit. Still working a nice solution for decent (NON RASP/DRONE)

Muffler there for a reason..I'd hate a long journey with a noisy exhaust sound..tiresome, once the novelty wears off.

Especially if I compare it to my cammed angry panda 6ltr SSV Redline, with twin 3 inch stainless system, highflow cats, a resonator each side mid way but NO mufflers at all!

You can’t call it drone when you are accelerating. It’s what you would expect out of a muffler delete.
