Deleting the mufflers so u get that exhaust sound but keeping the resonators to delete the droning is the perfect combination
facts. i have noi mufflers and catless on my GTI and the resonators keep the drone down but its still pretty loud when i want it to be.
I’m thinking about doing magnaflow exhausts for my dual pipes for my ‘17 Honda Accord sport and keeping the resonator. I think that might be the best way
I deleted everything now I'm about to slap a resonator the droning is killing me in the cabin.
What could I do with a Jeep grand Cherokee diesel ? Hate the noise want it loud 😅
@@NoLuVoW delete muffler and replace with 2 resonators
Lmao I was deadass about to click off when you were talking in the hillbilly voice
Facts 😂😂😂
Sameee
HAHAHA ME TOO
💀
💀💀💀
Ah yes, whiteboard i can defineatly see everything on the whiteboard
Large legible writing too
Can you defineatly see it or definitely see it?
I had a stroke trying to read this
😂😂😂😂😂
a trick: you can watch series on Flixzone. Been using it for watching lots of of movies lately.
Why does this remind of those times where you’re presenting something in front of the class and you’re literally just reading off of the whiteboard word for word
Because you're a simpleton who attributes new experiences with past memories.
I removed the Resinators off my GTO (LS1) and replaced the mufflers with a couple Flowmaster 10 series and it sounds amazing. It was the perfect mix of a nice rumble that's not too loud and a deep sound when I get on it without any of that obnoxious popping.
Ls1 straight piped with a Flowmaster super40 and I just eliminated the cats and man I hate the popping noise soo looking into installing a resonator now to see if it reduces the popping on take off speeds
Straight to the point. Your kind is rare
He’s reading that sign like an intern... lol
I was always wondering about the difference between the two. Thanks for the video
I have question. I bought a muffler with remote controlled bypass valve to make the exhaust sound louder for my 2009 escape v6. But the muffler guy told me there's no space for the new muffler because its bigger than stock so instead they put the new muffler to the resonator. So the new muffler is my new resonator. Now i notice after the installation my gear changes a little bit delayed from 2.5-3k rpm. Not like before where it shifts at 2k rpm. On the normal drive. Though i got the growly sound that i like when i open the valve. So do i need to have the ecu tuned for the changes or the ecu will learn to cope with it?
no bullsh*t... your channel is so underrated. love your vids brotha 👏🏾
100% agree, Keep up the good work
It shouldn’t be this is a very well known topic
My 2004 GTO has mufflers, just resonators and NEVER has a foul word been said about it by others, only complements. Oh, it was done as a Christmas present in 2005 for me by wife. I thank her big big.. Thanks guys for your time.
So im looking at getting the ETS exhaust for my 16' wrx and im not sure if i should get resonator or muffler. What would be good for having a nice sound not super loud?
I just got corsa xtremes for my mustang just wondering if I should do LTH with high flow cats or just got with catless, what would you recommend?
Hey man, I have watched your videos for a while now! Does one of your friends have an axleback mufflers or catback for a 13 scion frs ? I tried to get one shipped and it's going to take like 3 months...
Q: working on mittisbisi 3 cyl- car only has a little resonator, looks stock.
individual does not like sound.
so, installing a little muffler.
would this effect back pressure and effect fuel trims?
Quick question brother I'm about to install some resonators on my car just want to know is there a difference on what side yo installed them? but I'm talking about the inside part !
Very useful information, I’m swapping my resonator soon
recommended resonator for a 2.5 inch single exit exhaust?
Exactly the explanation I was lookin for 👍🏽
So if Im correct it’s better to keep the resonator than the muffler? Cuz im thinking about straight piping my 2015 hyundai elantra se and it sounds like if you take the reson off it creates a headache problem. But the car only has a 1.8L engine so will that headache problem occur in this type of car as well?
This was the simplest explanation and exactly how these videos should be made. Great work!
So I have a stock 2011 Lexus GS-350. I want that deeper tone, but no crackling etc.
I heard a Flowmaster FX that sounded nice. He added tips. Do tips help the sound or just for looks?
And I have a dual exhaust. You’re saying to only buy one resonator to replace one of the mufflers or am I misunderstanding?
i have the resonator on 4” straight pipe, lil loud. can i add a quiet muffler behind the resonator to reduce the sound?
Thoughts on getting a resonator delete then adding a cherry bomb muffler?
Are aftermarket resonators worth looking into to replace the stock resonator ? If I have a muffle delete and want my car to be a bit louder but not obnoxiously loud and still control the drone
thanks for the simple explanation! I was debating oh what to do for my challenger scat pack, dont want the droning, just want to be louder!! Looks like ill do just the mid muffler delete.
I have been really trying to find this exact content. This answered every question I had in order that I had them, ironically.
Keep making great content.
I have seen a bunch of your videos over the years. I was positive I was subbed at one point. Here's my sub again. YT can't stop the people!
Mufflers quiet down all that sound but removing the resonator makes it all the more raspy because it has nothing to turn down all that sound because the resonator is like a chamber that cancels out the unwanted frequencies in the exhaust the best it can that’s why I don’t understand why people like no resonators cause it makes a huge difference
This comment has more valuable information than this whole shit video.
thatunknownguy why thanks 🙌🙌🙌
Yooo! I didn’t learn a thing from the video. I watch it like 3 times but read this comment and now I have a clue of what’s going on. Thank you 🙏🏽
Prosper Mekoba most certainly man just trying to spread the awareness
CleanMotorSport RacingAssociation ima do a muffler delete then LOL
He explained that way better than anyone else on UA-cam that I have watched so far
I've got a Nissan Pulsar N15 1.6L (2000 Model), would it be okay to remove the rear muffler only?(and make it a straight pipe)
Im going to put on an x pipe and have a muffler delete on my a6 4.2 v8 should i have a resonator delete aswell?
My 350z is just too loud at high rpm with my hi-flow cats. Whats a really effective unit to put in the mid pipe that wont suck power but quiets it down??
I have 2022 Durango rt with 2flowmaster super10 as my mid muffler ,sound amazing never heard any drone even when cruising maybe because of stock 2 resonator still on.
thanks to this video it's explained properly
I have a 350z with resonated test pipes resonated y pipe and medium size straight trough muffler. Perfect daily setup
I was going to restore an old 86 f150 but I've since decided to try an get as much performance as possible out of it. so I bought some headers and plan on running a dual exhaust system. I want it to sound good though so I'm stuck as to what muffler to get.. I did mess up and accidentally order a glass pac 😂 an i know for sure thats not what I want. any recommendations including exhaust tips?
I have a question I have a 2016 focus sedan I straight pipe the resonator but I gave it a magnaflow muffler and whenever I start my car it doesn’t sound as much should I like replace my magnaflow muffler onto my resonator and straight pipe the muffler?
Hey thanks man. Appreciate the help
Doing research before straight piping my car. This really helps with knowing what to do.
Don’t straight pipe anything bro trust me, nothing sounds good straight
Lol. Depends on the car, anything with a big cubic inch motor sounds good with straight pipes. Civic and the like, no.
That was amazing ,very helpful keep up the good work man 👍🏼👍🏼
Holly shhooot.. 3 seconds in and all i can think of is.. " ITS MATER"! lol
I have a 92 crown vic, I cut the stock muffler off and added a thrush muffler, sounds good. I wanna know if I cut my cats off and replace them with resonators will I keep somewhat the same sound or will it be obnoxiously loud???
I have 2017 Volkswagen Jetta se what should you recommend will be good for that car?
So i got a wrx with turbo back exhaust and its too loud should i put a bigger resonator to make it quieter?
thanks for this video man so helpful. you deserve the almost 1m views for sure
I agree with your stance, just short of going with a valved system of putting in diverters, getting rid of the muffler but retaining a resonator is great for daily driven cars. You get the louder volume under hard throttle without the drone. That’s what I have on my car and it’s perfect. It’s definitely louder than but there’s no drone and very little noise unless it is under load. Be light on the throttle and it doesn’t bother anyone, punch it and it sounds amazing.
I'm a REAL newbie... want to have SLIGHT throaty sound upon acceleration but quiet at cruising speed (as much as possible)... 95 Honda Del Sol S
Suggestions?
Hi. Did you delete both mufflers or one?
I still have a cat installed but it blew out ages ago. Recently I did a muffler delete and replaced it with straight pipe and a 30° bent pipe. Sounds awesome with just a resonator. I don't notice any drone on the highway.
Super helpful vid 👍🏻
I have a 2007 mercedes cls 550 with cats deleted, thinking of between deleting mufflers or setting an x pipe instead of resonator. Would like to get good muscle v8 sound without too much noise
Only confusion for me is that on my 07 outback 2.5i I cut the y pipe and mufflers off and I left resonator which gave me a slightly louder and aggressive sound, BUT with the addition of removing the resonator it was 3 times louder and I had to put it back on, seems like the resonator does a better job of silencing the car than the mufflers.
Put a free flowing exhaust on instead of cutting stuff out of the stock exhaust
@@eze8024 I'm sure he'd be glad to do it if you pay for it
same with my jetta when i took the resonator off it was much much louder
I have motordyne art pipes and an agency power cat back but it has no resonator will my pops still be loud if i added a resonator?
Great video explaining everything perfect.I have a quick question.so I had a resonator delete and custom made muffler on my BMW 228i is it possible to have some loss of toqrue on low end like 0-60 or it's all in my head? Thanks
Ivo Mezhdurechki pretty sure exhaust mods have extremely minimal effect on actual power output, so likely all in your head
V8s lose alot of torque when they lose too much back pressure. So Its very possible
@@Maroco918 If that were the case, they'd lose a ton of torque when you replace the stock exhaust manifolds with headers.
What would be the best setup for a 2003 Chevy Cavalier LS Sport 2D 2.2L?
What should I do if I want a nice exhaust sound but at as close to stock db level as possible?
Wonder if they put the resonator on the Hyundai Tucson because it would be located directly under the rear passenger seating area. I'm gonna just order it because it's a standard piece of the exhaust. Thanks for the video upload. Good to know about it since I'm in the middle of replacing the front exhaust section and I'm running into studs that I'll have to cut off because the way the nut end is rotted to where I can't get a socket or a wrench on it for removal...
If you had a valves muffler but res delete, would it still drone with the muffler closed?
What would you suggest muffler or resonator delete for 2018 Max??
Uploads all the time your gonna grow so fast
I have a S60 2.0T that had one cat, resonator and muffler. Removed just the muffler and it sounds super great. Tried only with the cat, it sounded cool but it was painful to drive with it like that.
i have a 1.8t 4motion tsi Golf Sportswagen '19 it has 3" catless downpipe, stock Res, and 2.5" pipe after the res welded on with neo chrome 4" tips 😂 and its loud on start up and full throttle, awesome on the highway no drone, and the kids never complain about noise,
thinking about putting a flowmaster 50 series delta flow from my old f150 on to the back to make it quiet again (scrapped stock muflers) should i make er quiet again
My truck is true dual straight piped and it has a ton of crackle and its too much around 1300 to 1600 rpm. Idk how to get rid of the cracking. I thought resonator would take out the cracking and popping and still leave the exhaust loud. It read 117 decibels at the exhaust shop but on my phone it read 98 directly at the pipe. What would be my best option thats still affordable, i just paid 330 dollars for the true dual straight pipe so im a little low on funds but i need it quieted down quickly, im 100% pull overable right now. Should i do something like glasspacks or just go resonator or something more 2 in 2 out magnaflow, what should i do?
I’m not gonna lie, I put two 18” resonators on my 2014 mustang, and it silenced it SO much. No cats and Flowmaster outlaws. Took the sound almost entirely down to stock. Sort of crazy...
How's the drone
@@Jsteelies Drone is near non-existent. I have 3.73 gears so on the highway taching 3k can get noisy but not quite droning. The sound is VERY lovely from idle-3500, but starts getting wild around 4000. Still sounds great throughout the whole powerband, definitely the best exhaust setup I have heard on a 3.7.
What resonators did you use?
What resonators
size of resonator makes a huge differnce, I have an HKS catback on my jdm STI it has 2 resonaders of different lengths. No drone at any speed but sounds amazing.
So I have this shop that's asking me if I should put two cherry 🍒 bombs for the resonator on a edge st , what do you think about it?
so if i were to get a muffler delete or a cutback would I need to reflash my ecu or tune it? cause I don't want the CEL coming on cause that shits annoying
What type of set up would be ideal but not too obnoxious with a 2010 Dodge Avenger RT 3.4L V6? Resonator delete?
If my car has the GPF is it worth to remove the muffler? Or I won’t feel any sound difference?
What would be the best set up for bmw e90 328, 330 and 335's?
Is it possible to delete 1 resonator since there are two resonators lined next to eachother on my golf r32?
I got a 2012 Jetta 2.0 TDI and it's my daily driver! It's running a Stage 1+ ECU TCU Remap and a BMC stock air filter replacement. Would you recommend I get a resonator delete, muffler delete, both, or just don't even bother because it's a TDI ?
Did a muffler and resonator delete on my 2014 Tiguan 2.0 tsi. Sounds awesome
What would you guys recommend me. I have a 6.2L V8 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. I just recently deleted the muffler and don’t like the drone in cabin … like feels like about to give me a headache…. What should I do
Hello.what is good for mk7 gti please.resonator or muffler ? For no drone and a good sound exhaust
Is it good to put resonator when my auto have scav pipe ?
I want to use 2 resonator will the performance decrease significantly?
Quick question....
So I have a borla atak exhaust system installed... do I need a resonator?
l Pronox
I have the same set up on my camaro, and was wondering the same thing.
so, did you get the resonator deleted or nah?
If yes, how does it sound with resonator deleted?
Better than before or nah?
350z with resonator and muffler ? It's complitely stock, how is it loud ?
This...kinda helped I guess, I have my stock exhaust with the resonator taken out but I’m looking to get an aftermarket exhaust system and might have the mufflers taken out
Do you get more mpg deleting the muffler ?
*_Bro it's my first time on the channel, and I thought the intro was legit LMAO! Funny guy_*
I got a muffler delete on my truck but kept the stock cars and resonator. The resonator is our near the tip, and the truck idles pretty quietly. Would removing the resonator make it sound deeper and a little louder when idling?
It really depends what your engine sounds like straight piped. A lot of cars have resonators to get rid of undesirable sounds so getting rid of it could make it more high pitched and raspy🤷🏽♂️
It's a truck, what's the point of keeping it unstock?
i have a catt and a resonator but I was thinking I want to turn it down some more. if I add a next resonator will that help?
Think you can add a cherry bomb extreme muffler near the tail.
On my g35 I have it straight pipe with magnaflow resignator its just the perfect amount of sound. Where I can still stay lowkey and not get pulled over.
Damn bro that's an old school pfp, haven't seen that pic in years
I have 2 catalytic converters one muffler and 1 y pipe and i see something with resonators and without resonators what does that do
I learned a lot actually 😂
Im getting a catbac gibson exhaust should i take off resonator
So i have an 02 accord and it has two exhaust and i qanted to make it as loud as possible but dont know what should be the move
Remove the 2 mufflers
Does the resonator quite the turbo whistler at all?
Really starting to like your videos! hope you’re the next big car youtuber ,thanks for the quality content👍🏻
Hey I have mustang with no cats but I still have muffler on the I was think about add resonator on the car will it quite down the car or will it take away just the drone and rasp?
Yes to both..
What is the best set up for a 2003 mercury marauder
I put flowmaster pro on my car. I ask them to put it in middle. They didn't they put it at the end of pipe. I can't stand the drone sound. Question? Can I put a resonator in front of the flowmaster to correct the drone sound?
If I delete a muffler and keep the resonator and also have a high flow downpipe would I still get pops
Question. I have a 2006 scion and I don’t want to remove the muffler but I want to make it louder. Should I put exhaust tips on it
That's what I'm considering
thanks man now I don't have to stress about this
I have a 96 honda accord that is straight piped and am wondering if i put a resonator and muffler on it would that make quieter than with just a muffler
Michael Alexander yes. if you want your exhaust have a little bass sound just install a chambered muffler without resonator. you have the both worlds if you do that power and sound.
I run my g35 w both mufflers and a deleted resonator and it doesnt drone but it sounds amazing, for anyone that needed to hear that lol
I went the other way on my LS 6.0. Kept all 4 cats and resonator but use electric cutouts on both mufflers. Sound like a corvette when vales are open, quiet as a limo when valves are shut.
Very good insight. Will removing the resonator hurt mpg and/or horsepower? Thank you.
no resonator will give you more horsepower and more mpg
This doesn’t really make sense, more power would use more fuel. Reducing exhaust restriction would mean more airflow, which means more fuel for more combustion.
@@XzotikZ less restriction means less load on the motor.
Only at heavier loads would it even be possible to use more fuel.
What’s a good resonator for a K5?
I have a Magnaflow X pipe resonator and muffler delete and sounds great.
I have an N1 race and it’s too loud! What are your thoughts on adding a resonator?
thekids4488 I’ll trade you my n1 resonated mid pipe for your non?
@@subieja Wish you would have asked earlier, I wound up welding a resonator onto it
I have a borla catback exhast and it makes a loud ass humming noise I’m not sure which one to get rid of 😭
