Just watched this. Its so satisfying to watch in Imax. What a visual feast
WHAT A LOVELY DAY! Fun fact... Anya was raised in Argentina and she speaks Spanish with that accent fluently, so she's my fellow South American of sorts.
After playing the video game a million times & going to the tomb of Dementus (Dr. D) I can't wait to see what happened to him in the past. This is gonna be awesome!

So...is Achara tall, or is Jaby short? Or both? Came for the Furiosa commentary, but couldn't help but notice the lack of height difference.
we're the same height. we actually measured a long time ago. and she loves to wear these thick bottom sneakers making her even taller. i don't care. but there's always someone in the comments who does. 🤣
@@CinePals - We always see everyone on the channel sitting down doing reactions, so it was interesting to see you both standing together, and it just struck me that there was no height difference. Funny about her wearing thicker-soled shoes to be taller, though! 🤣
Achara is wearing heels, whereas Jaby is usually barefoot. Normally they're very different heights.
Eventhough Fury Road is a Mad Max movie, i always feel Furiosa is the standout. I'm excited to see more of her

I love coming to these vids along with reel rejects and omni (not the latter in the case of this early review) and finding the dudes who copy paste their hate comments in multiple places. It’s great for a laugh. Also shout out to the dude who copy pasted the factoid about Anya Taylor joy because at lease it wasn’t something toxic.

It's a surprisingly tough collection of films to rank.
one thing i wish Jaby did is to give comparison(not necessarily genre/theme but how the movie made him feel or what he got out from the movie) with other movies. like of you liked so an so then you will love this movie. for any movie that they review, not just this one

the toxic reviews are already complaining it's another girl-boss or mary sue movie and celebrating its failure. but the movie definitely adds to the mad max universe and the stunts were george miller level outrageous just like fury road. it was a worthy kick off to the summer movie season.
The Mad Max short film HOPE AND GLORY is a nice warm-up for FURISOA by the way

I watched the stuff...good stuff....
Okay be real with me... how much of the stunts and effects were CGI? I could spot a few of them in the trailer and it was really disappointing to see.
There's definitely SOME moments that have a different look and it lends surreal vibe to the whole thing. Honestly, there were maybe a total of two or three moments that popped out to me as feeling like CGI in an unpleasant way. But the trailers don't do the film justice. I watched them again while doing the clean up edit for this review and I was kind of shocked at how the trailers just don't feel the same as the film itself. It actually makes the movie look and feel worse. I stand by my feelings and have tickets to watch it again as soon as it comes out.

called it! even just looking at the behind the scenes, some shots that look cgi are actually not, like the War Rig blasting through that brick foundation or the Cranky Black driving over the sand dunes. they look animated to high heaven, but they're very much real.
cgi is probably mostly used just to change the surroundings from arid outback/ city suburbia to sand swallowed wasteland considering Australia doesn't really have those kinds of deserts, they used older techniques in Beyond Thunderdome to capture the same aesthetic.

Did they not use practical effects in this movie like the previous one? Because, the effects look terrible.
They're definitely used some practical effects. All vehicles are real and most of the stunts two I think.
Was this movie shot on digital? It has a very smooth and clean look to it compared to fury road which had a dirty, gritty and grainy look like it was shot on film.
I just looked up the cameras John Seale used vs Simon Duggan's set up they seem to match equipment wise. Although John Seale likes to use up to six cameras in some circumstances (favourite DP) Namibia vs ghost towns in New South Wales is the main difference

I wouldn't say that. They're different movies even though they exist in the same universe. This takes place over a much larger span of time, it's a different feeling.

Did you guys personally enjoy it more or less than the first? Also, based on previews it looks like there’s considerably more CGI, is this the case?
There are some instances where you can identify use of CGI, but it wasn’t enough to hurt my experience with it. And I’m usually persnickety about that. I noticed the CGI more in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. I wouldn’t say I liked it more than the first one. But they are different structures, different films. Not a 1 to 1 comparison, but think of the difference between Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield Lane.

George Miller is the goat! Chris Hemsworth is a great actor its just that his popular Thor movies are silly/cringy its hard to watch, he himself said the movie(thor) is silly, thanks to Taika Waititi who directed the silly thor movies whom said he never really read the thor comics.. 🤡☠

Great review guys but I'm starting to get feeling George Miller can only make amazing Mad Max movies only, others have been hit and miss.
I couldn’t get into Babe. Happy Feet (at least the first one) was fun when I saw it years back. I believe that was him.
