Nux was desperate to find something to die for, and he found it when he finally had something worth living for. This movie is so good.
Facts
🥲💕
All the likes means nothing for furiosa movie......
Mad Max Fury Road is an absolute master class of visual storytelling
The reference for action movies.
The reference for action movies.
The most awesomeness post apocalypse of madness
This Is not even a average movie......Joe You compare this one and Max 2, they stole the Idea and shit on it!!!
@@sandorhartig3957 This one is far superior to all other Mad Max films that came before it, so I'm not sure what you're trying to say.
"Max. My name is Max."
I love how he nods. He's not just introducing himself fnally, but reclaiming his name and humanity by opening his heart literally and figuratively to Furiosa to save her.
yep
This exactly! I can't believe some people think that Max doesn't do anything I this movie. I always thought he had a very good character arc. He starts the film as this feral barely human thing running purely on survival instinct. And throughout the film he slowly regains his humanity, culminating in this oddly poignant scene. Dammit, who's cutting onions in here?
It was some habits of Mel Gibson in the original trilogy
Crazy Fact: Riley Keough who plays the redhead wife Capable met her husband on the set of this movie, he was the stuntman for the Doof Warrior (the flamethrower guitarist).
Another fun fact, she is the granddaughter of Elvis.
@@starwarsnerd100 and owner of his entire estate.
Another crazy fact is that this isn't a "crazy" fact at all.
@@johnbeans2000 more like "mad" fact
I’ve said this before;
Nux got to drive the War Rig straight through the gates of Valhalla, Shiny and Chrome.
This is a movie that needs to be seen in theaters to full appreciate the jaw dropping stunts and special effects. I went into a theater in 2015 with no expectations, completely blind to what the movie was about and I came out almost too stunned to speak. The only thing that came to mind was "I think I just watched the greatest action movie of all time."
Right? The next day i go and watch it again..worth every dime..and if they decide to remastered it and show it again,i'll freakin go back to cinema
Greatest action movie.

Exactly how I felt! It was amazing and life-changing.
I couldn't get it out of my mind for weeks afterward. It was just an amazing experience. There's never been another film like it and there probably never will be again. Absolute masterpiece. I knew it was a longshot for Best Picture that year, but I was genuinely disappointed it didn't win. It is the best movie made in this century, any genre, and while it did get universal acclaim, it's still somehow underrated.
Joe’s three sons:
•Corpus Colossus-Blessed with the mind of a man, but cursed with the body of a child
•Rictus Erectus-Blessed with the body of man, but cursed with the mind of a child
•Scabrous Scrotus-Blessed with both brains and brawn, but lacking his father’s stoicism, cursing him with uncontrollable madness (He is the main antagonist of the tie-in video game)
…Also: Miss Giddy, the elderly woman covered in tattoos, is a member of a tribe known as The History Men. They are the storytellers and teachers of this world, tattooing their bodies with all known history of the pre-apocalyptic world. When they die their skin is tanned into leather and their tattoos become the inked writings of their history books. They’re the ones that lead the Citadel after the fall of Joe. (From the comics)
Scrtous appears in the new mad max movie
@@rickdykshoorn4751
Faaaascinating
mad max has some of the wildest world building 😄
Also the Concubine Hope which is in the game is the daughter to Miss Giddy
@@meanmichael6348 Hope is Miss Giddy's daughter, and Glory is Hope's daughter. Glory is the little girl that Max sees in his flashbacks. Max saved Glory from Buzzards, but then Glory and Hope were killed by the Buzzards while escaping. Max couldn't keep them safe. (In the game, Scrotus kills them, but the game isn't canon.)
It's funny for me to imagine that the maker of this franchise is also the guy behind Happy Feet.
Y de babe, el puerquito valiente
And that's why Happy Feet won the Oscars for Best Animated Feature
George Miller said that after filming Happy Feet, he noticed ballet dancers are very disciplined and methodical, and that’s why the casted Charlize Theron and Anya Taylor Joy, because they had ballet backgrounds.
Babe, too.
Mad Feet: Happy Road
"We couldn't ease into this?"
We were eased into this in 1979 miss.
Well said.
This movie was nominated for 10 Oscars, including Best Picture. It ended up winning 6 awards! One of the few action films to receive such acclaim ❤🎉
Should have won the Oscar for Best Picture.
Tom Hardy did a great job playing Max, his Punisher voice was the best part of his character
Bronson (2010)
Taboo (2017)
Ugh! Hmmmpfff
Watta’
Bloody brilliant
@KratosIsSick "uh uh that's bait 😒" the best line of the whole movie
Yes his voice was best here
Mad Max in Fury Road only had 63 lines of dialogue. Furiosa has 80. In the Road Warrior movie, Max (mel gibson) has a mere 16 lines of dialogue, two of which are "I only came for the gasoline."
I enjoyed this fact.
I can’t believe this is the same director that did Babe: Pig in the City and won his Oscar for Happy Feet. The range on George Miller’s work is crazy.
He did the first three Mad Max films first. If you've seen The Road Warrior you knew what was coming.
@@simonfernandes6809 I know. But to pivot to those other movies and then come back is just not a usual directorial trajectory.
"We couldn't ease into this?!?"
Of all the things this movie might be known for, chill is not one of them.
It's honestly hilarious seeing the different reactions. The woman absolutely horrified and stressed. The man having the absolute time of his life.
Love it.
😂
Tbh when I saw it in theaters as a teenage girl with my other teenage girl friends we went out of the theater driving around and banging on the seats and yelling wanting to be Furiosa and the Many Mothers, or hell, even the War Boys. The movie really gets your adrenaline pumping. This series makes driving seem like the coolest thing in the world.
@@oleander7635 Well that's refreshing!
@@oleander7635 I love your pfp
@@prathapkutty7407 ty we love anya!!!
The reason he wants the "wives" is because they are "healthy" and he hopes for healthy kids. Pretty much everyone else around him had malformations or has cancer, that's why they call them "half-life"
At the end of this movie, I felt like I had held my breath for the entirety of it. This is balls to the walls all in high octane action from start to finish.
Yeah things are crazy that you can't breath you're like okay let's this pass
Seeing Michael's enthusiasm and joy throughout the reaction was fun to see.
Glad these two watched this.
An awesome detail I missed the first time watching: the "Salt Flats" are actually the oceans, all dried-up. That's why Furiosa said they'd ride on the Flats for 160 days - the flats are THAT massive.
Whoa! I did not know that and I've seen this movie like 30 times lol ... They definitely should've went East lol
If the situation was that bad the temperature would have risen so high that minimal water intake would cause dehydration far faster than it would in non desert climes today.
You'd basically just sweat to death, and everyone would need to be still suited up to re drink the water in their pee.
Also considering the sheer amount of water in the oceans it would have to go somewhere which means the sky, which means the cloud cover would be THICC and constant, which means little to no sun.
Not true lol
It’s literally just a dried up forest/ swamp
@@mnomadvfxYeah, it's almost as if it's a movie and not trying to replicate reality in every aspect.
@@mrdavman13 I mean they show Sydney harbour without water at the end of Mad Max 3, so the sea level has fallen by at least 20-30m globally. of course the movie isn't realistic so none of the climate effects, other than drought, are shown
I love this movie so much. The love story between Nux and Capable. The "Chekhov's bloodbag" moment of Max saving Furiosa. The *relentless* action. It's so incredible.
Fun fact: they shot 480 hours of footage for this movie. Editor Margaret Sixel who is the wife of director George Miller took 3 months to edit it down to 2 hours
Fun fact she also edited all the other mad max movies. For the first one she edited it by hand with film on their kitchen and living room floor (they had only a small apartment, this was most their floor space)
Also George and many other film critiques have stayed his wife was essential to this films success, as being edited by a man would’ve had a totally different impact and effect on the story and characters.
Nux is definitely in Valhalla, the most shiny and chrome of them all.
Rosie Huntington Whiteley was only in two movies in her entire life. This movie right here & Transformers Dark of the Moon. Also she's married to Jason Statham.
Just engaged, not married
@@NightwingTV Still engaged? But when's the wedding day?
@@joshuacampbell7493 you didn't get a 'Save the Date' card either?
I love her lips
@@NightwingTV No wedding because marriage is obsolete these days.
Fun fact: the actor playing Immortan Joe also played the character Toecutter in the original '79 madmax
Fun Fact: The "sweet girl" with the red hair that Kristen kept referring to is Elvis Presely's granddaughter
Yeah, she's the spit of her grandmother Priscilla too.
One of the single greatest action movies of all time. Nominated for 10 Oscars and winning 6, more than any other movie that year.
And one of the greatest soundtracks in film history as well, when you listen to the track *Brothers In Arms* while you’re on the road you actually feel like pushing your vehicle to its limit!
Fury Road is intense beautiful insanity. George Miller is a wonderful madman. Can't wait for Furiosa this weekend.
I loved Fury Road, but I'm not a fan of Anya Taylor Joy at all, so not so much looking forward to Furiosa.
Watching this after just getting back from watching Furiosa in theaters convinces me that Furiosa is up there with Ripley from Aliens and Sarah Conner from T2 as one of the most badass women in film history!
Nope Cynthia rothrock! Those who know knows.
Can’t wait to see it!! Love her character ❤
She's definitely my favourite female modern hero
She is absolutely incredible. I don’t feel like there’s many female characters like her in modern cinema. It’s rare that a powerful female character isn’t made up to be sexy and feminine. I mean, Furiosa is sexy, but not in the traditional way.
i think the moment when the big oil rig explodes for about 10 seconds straight, Max is vaulted up on the pole and looks back while the massive explosion happens in the back... is the most "WTF AMAZING SHOTS" i have ever seen. pure insanity.
also the moment after Furiosa is stabbed and her and Max look at each other, their faces tell you everything about the situation. For the first time she is like "damn we might not make it" and his look replies knowingly. PERFECT ACTING
My favorite shot in cinema!
The insane thing about that shot is not only was it practically done, it was the fact they had one shot at it.
They only had one fuel rig and there was no way to remove the scorching it would take from all the fire while on location in the desert, so whatever shot they got was the one that was going in the film.
The story behind making this movie was that Tom Hardy (Mad Max) and Charlize Theron (Furiosa) didn't get along at all.
Actually nobody got along. Making mad max was like entering into a battle field.
People making the movie were all irritated due to them being stuck on desert literally, filming it all. So of course they would get aggressive with one another having their brains fried by the sun all day shooting the movie.
@@sparda9060 anya taylor-joy described feeling the same way shooting furiosa, saying it was very isolating and mentally challenging for her
on the other hand chris hemsworth had a great time and got along great with everyone, must be the australian in him
@puremadness that's what made Dememtus wayy more epic than Imortan Joe!
@@puremadness Chris has to be a super hero being able to tolerate the heat, stress, and other people being irate to stay calm and collected lol Maybe he was method acting to be Dementus IRL to get into the role lmao
The intertwined fingers the Warboys hold up as a kind of salute is meant to represent their Worship of the V8
And the silver spray paint on the teeth represents the Chrome Grill on your chariot that carries you to Valhalla. WITNESS ME !
I can't believe it's been nine years since this came out. I remember walking out of the theater and really regretting that my car was automatic. 😆
i like this duo on the channel
The flaming guitar dude is called “The Doof Warrior” or “Coma-Doof Warrior” is an Australian stuntman married to actress Riley Keough (they met on set) who is the daughter of the late Lisa Marie Presley and musician Danny Keough.
The Doof Warrior was played by Iota, an Australian singer/song writer
And of course, grand-daughter of Elvis.
Who who and whooo?
i am in my 40s. i took my mother to see this with me in the theater...... wildest movie in decades.
Oh what a reaction! What a lovely reaction!
Probably the best action film of all time! This movie is amazing and I can't wait for the prequel, Furiosa.
They will never know the feeling of seeing this masterpiece in theaters
19th greatest film of all time....BBC

“Where must we go, we who wonder this wasteland in search of our better selves?” - The First History Man
What an experience 🔥
Enjoyed how focused y’all were 😂
You guys watching mad max in 2024. I can't believe. You never heard that this movie won 5 Oscar's.
I know a lot of people dislike how max treats the ladues as hostages at first for a while, but to him at that point, they're all part of the group that tried to enslave him so I can understand.
The red haired woman is Riley Keough, granddaughter of Elvis Presley.
Fun fact
Charlize and Tom hated each other on set while filming almost got into physical altercation.
To me it seems their dynamic added to the tension between them in their characters
A LOT of those vehicles were toured around with the release of this movie -- a bunch of them made an appearance at a Post-Apocalypse ReEnactment Event called "Wasteland Weekend" in Southern California. Several of my friends have seen them in person & even ridden in a few of those.
First time I saw this in theaters I left so amped- more than I can ever remember for any other movie. What a fantastic movie.
The reason the War Boys are after Max in the beginning is because Max killed Immortan Joe’s son in the 2015 video game.
My favorite fun fact about this movie is that Charlize Theron used to knit between takes, so many of the warboys asked her to teach them how to knit
WITNESSED!
The "hallucinations" Max keep seeing are parts pf his past that is explored in the older films and comics
I loved both Kristen and Michael's reactions, and they are exactly the reactions my husband and I had. Kristen's in particular really resonated with me because you can see it in her eyes when she's figuring out the worldbuilding, the horror of what it means to be a woman - any woman other than Furiosa - in this fictional situation. It's absolutely terrifying. In an apocalyptic scenario, the most vulnerable are those who need protection - children, women, elderly - and they are also the most exploited when society collapses completely. It's why I couldn't watch this movie again right away after seeing it the first time - despite the triumphant ending, the thought of society devolving into what Immortan Joe runs at the Citadel is so bleak, so devoid of hope for these vulnerable people, that it literally hurts to watch. This movie is cinematically perfect, with stupendous nonstop action, and on top of it all is such an emotional journey - the evolution of hope, of not running away from your problems, from what frightens you, but meeting it head-on with strength. It's been almost 10 years and this is still the best movie I have ever seen in my life.
We don’t get enough reactions with Michael, I love when these two are on the channel!!❤❤
This movie won 6 Academy Awards
The old lady was a historyman they are very important, because they write as much as they can about the old world's history on their skin, and when they eventually die, they are skinned and their skin is used as study material for a younger historyman, who will once again tattoo themselves with all the information they study, which is how some details about the old world have survived so long without trees for paper (the newest movie briefly talks about it).
George Miller has RANGE! In addition to Mad Max films, he did Babe, the Witches of Eastwick, and Happy Feet, among others.
Wait, he did Babe?!?!?
@@mnomadvfx he did! And that dancing penguin film Happy Feet. 😁The man has range!
He didn’t go insane from losing hope he went insane from not being able to fix what’s broken. Like he literally told her…
I have watched dozens of reactions to 'Fury Road' and I must say, I enjoyed yours the most. You guys really got this film. You enjoyed every moment of it and let yourselves go into the story. Will definitely watch more of your channel. Thank you.
Mad Max Fury Road...it's the best example of doing one thing right, and mastering it to the perfection to the level that it's worth the price of admission alone ! It's one of the best action movie of the past 20 years with the perfect blend of practical effects and CGI making each action pieces perfect...When you think about it, the story is very ordinary, it's a pursuit with enslaved women on board, a message about human trafficking and they essentially make a loop to come back where they come from...Not very high level storytelling, but everything around is mastered so much to perfection, it takes the movie to a next level !! One of the most rare case of movie in production hell that end up being good !!
I just saw Furiosa and it's incredible! You'll love it!
@9:15 It's the Apocalypse version of a car radio. Who wants to drive hours through nothingness without some tunes playing.
I LOVE Michael’s excitement
Movie is a masterpiece. I love the Mad Max universe. 💜💜
I am so glad I saw this movie in the theaters ❤ it went beyond my expectations. Hope more people get to see and appreciate the film.
Wow u 2 said whoooo in perfect harmony 😂
Mad Max: Fury Road was a big contender at the Oscars winning 6 out of 10, including best editing by the writer/director's wife, Margaret Sixel.
Can you imagine your first day of shooting with all the vehicles and rolling into the parking lot and seeing them for the 1st time. I bet that was so cool.
Guess what!! The actor playing Immortan Joe also played the main villain in the first Mad Max film! Also, he was born in Srinagar, India!!
Wait is it true he was born in Srinagar??
@prathapkutty7407 Yup, it's true! He was born before 15th August 1947. His father was probably posted in India as an officer for the British Empire! Like Cliff Richard!
Two different people 😂😂😂😂😂 one is disgusted and wondering and other is hell yeah this is cool.😂😂😂
The "big baby" or "blob of a human" as you so delightfully called him was Quentin Kenihan, an Australian disabilities rights activist and actor with osteogenesis imperfecta. He passed in 2018.
Having seen Furiosa now and all the ways it deepens the story I love this movie even more.
I feel bad for people who didnt see this on the big screen, EXHILARATING
Michael definitely enjoyed this one.. lol
10/10 one of the best action movies I've ever seen should react to the other man Max movies
I have never agreed more with two very different reactions. Her uncomfortable disbelief and his morbid glee. Same, guys. This movie is AMAZING! 🤣🤣🤣
"Paranoid Goblin" is the defining characteristic of Max in all of the movies next to "same amount of Dialogue as the Doom Slayer"
kristen: this hurts m body, mind
men see cars go fast, electric guitar with flame trower, men happy
I was just thinking that.
Just bought tickets to see Furiosa on Saturday. Love this movie, one of my favorite action films.
I saw this twice at the movies...only time ever in 40 years of going...
So those tornadoes are easily F5+ scale. That's the strongest an irl tornado can be. Back in 1997, there was an F5 tornado called a "dead man walking" that stopped in one place for 3 minutes. Usually there's debris after a tornado goes through. There was nothing left. The wood and stone that made up the houses was shredded to dust. Nothing left except the ruined foundations of houses. The cars they knew were there when the tornado touched down, frames and all, were rendered down to nothing. Just gone. Asphalt was torn off the road like paint being scraped from a wall.
The cars and, more important, the war boys sucked into those were having their flesh stripped from their bodies and their bones turned to dust, suspended in the air, their only hope is to go into shock or be dashed against the ground. What a horrible way to die. The way the movie shows the way systems of patriarchal rule harm both men and women is brilliant. The war boys seek death to impress a rapist that thinks literally nothing of them beyond their immediate utility. Max is turned into an object to be used by them, just as the wives are turned into objects for use. Human beings are regarded as collections of spare parts, underneath actual machines in the hierarchy of this culture. And above it all, are a few old men.
My favorite part is how the film doesn't just point out problems, it offers solutions. First and foremost, that leaving is not the solution. They have to stand and fight for a home, because home is where the resources are. Secondly, is willing sacrifice. Under Joe's regime, Max's blood is taken by violent coercion. When he's dead, and all his armies destroyed, Max chooses, of his own free will, to give of himself to save Furiosa. At that moment, she didn't have any further utility for him. He did that not to save himself or get something from her. This is driven home by him leaving in the end, asking for nothing, because Furiosa had given him something beyond simple survival: his humanity.
Epic and badass in everything: visuals, stunts, soundtrack. Absolutely adore this action movie!
People keep saying “just work together “. This is a post apocalyptic wasteland where trust is even more rare than water and hope.
Love your dynamic, really fun react video !
9:00 This is my favorite part. This chick is complaining about all her problems and the dude is fking elated. This is how every couple is watching this movie.
To understand Max and why he is the way he is in this movie, you really need to check out the original Mad Max Road Warrior and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.
I like everything in this movie: scenes, music, dynamic
Best movie of all time
Thanks for watching this documentary of Australia
I got no idea why it was so hard for homegirl to understand why Max and Furiosa didn’t trust each other. This is a post apocalyptic world.
The spiked 'Buzzard' vehicles were an homage to another, crazier Australian cult film called 'The Cars That Ate Paris' (AKA 'Cars That Eat People') which is known for a silver VW Beetle covered in spikes. The animal growling sounds from the Buzzard excavator truck are also taken from that film.
Amazing blend of practical & digital effects. Such impressive filmmaking and visual storytelling but it was utterly exhausting in the theater.
I can't describe the beauty of this movie. Just want to say movie like Mad max Fury road can be enjoyed only once in a lifetime.
0:16 the two reactions to this masterpiece summed up right there.
Immortant Joe was played by the same actor who played the toe cutter in the original Mad Max he gor two iconic villain roles and two brutal deaths from the same franchise. It's important to remember these films are legends told around the campfires by survivors long afterwards and Max is the mythical wandering hero so inconsistencies between films are not important ( his famous V8 interceptor has been destroyed at least twice) and as a mythical hero he survives the impossible.
Furiosa was good, but there was one thing missing, the spark that was Nux. Nicholas Hoult really brought that character to life, opposite two stoic leads.
Still, I enjoyed furiosa.
Watch how many times someone looses their senses in this movie. Furiosa, does not have an arm. Bullet farmer loses his sight. Max most likely is deaf as hell since he had multiple gunshots go off right next to his head. Etc etc you can find even metaphorical representations of this motif as well.
A fact I love about this movie, the guys on those pole vaults are actually doing it and acrobats in real life. I’m not sure if that is an actual engine block or some kind of weight designed to be a mock up engine block, but just awesome dedication and movie making. George literally said “what if the whole movie was a chance scene”
Thanks for the reaction! There are 3 prior films, and all are worth a watch.
The movie was awesome.
It had no substance or depth but was super entertaining and some of the best action ever shot
This film found incredibly profound moments with great acting within a thrill ride.
The best thing about this movie, despite a heavy female cast with strong characters, there was no gender BS. It was strong people beating the odds, the way humanity moves forward. More than Max, Furiosa led the movie and I love it!!
