My guess is that it's an info_paint_sprayer and a light_dynamic parented to a prop_physics_paintable which is somehow set to activate when a certain key is pressed.
It's a good alternative to the guy who made a paint gun. His only problem was that you couldn't use a Portal gun or switch it out for one. This would fix that problem.

What happens if one of the cubes gets covered in gel? Also, if there was some sort of cool sound effect, and the function kassidynet suggested about activating them with lasers, it'd be cool to see these in a custom map.

how did you solve the problem of the gel not coming out at angels that are not on the z plane? like at the end when the gel was shooting upwards out of the cube?
@At7commando what if it only had a small amount of gel and you had to keep going back to a tube to refill and in some tests there would be no tube so no refill if you run out(that is how it would not be so easy in a test)
This never made it to my sub box for some reason and the odd thing is I had thought of something similar the other day except it fired continuously when picked up. Great work with these though. Hope to see some interesting level be made with these.

Also as regards the screenshot: It may defeat a sense of realism (???) but I think... it might actually be possible for the repulsion-gel-cube to be set to not 'bounce'? That might solve your "too blue" problem ^^'
