If the military took time to teach basic parkour, then one could use the gels effectively enough to blitz through an enemies defenses. Not to mention the basic transportation improvements for civilians. Coat some train tracks in the propulsion gel, and suddenly a handcart can rival the speeds of bullet trains.

@Dragonusers this map is actually in it, but it looks a little bit different. It's one of the repulsion gel chambers set in the 1950's iirc. The levels With Cave Johnson talking over the loudspeaker.
Things I want to see in portal 2: 1. Humor (they'll have that) 2. Bosses (which would be robots that you have to do tricky portal manuvers to kill) 3. Mobile enemies 4. Atlas and P-Body being referenced in Chell's story or vice-versa. 5. Cake If they have all of these-I'm sold.
This level IS in portal 2. It's one of the last levels in the first set of levels (with only the blue gel). They only changed the textures and added an emancipation grid. But the level plays exactly the same as here.
I still believe that even 10+ years later, Portal 2 still has some of the best fluid physics of any game without having to break your graphics card to do it

That was actually the original concept for Portal 2! It's also technically what you do in the final game for a period.
