Good lord people. Bits and bridles are not bad when used in good hands, like his. He's a top rider who is giving a video to help people learn. Which some of you should!
Great advice, great riders, great personalities, great video quality. This should be a TV show especially for equestrians. If only there was a channel on TV specifically for stuff like this.
So many of the comments are so negative. I just read one that said that he is a bad rider. He is an amazing rider and a wonderful trainer. Oh and someone said that Tex should not have a flash on because it could hurt him? When you have a flash on, you are supposed to still be able to fit 2 fingers in. Yah it might be uncomfortable if it is cranked down on his face, but for some horses, it is nessecary.
His hands are so soft with the reins. My trainer is so harsh with his horse yes the horse is green but when I ride it he works well with me because I have soft hands even my horse is green and works well with my soft hands
Last saturday, I was riding and suddenly it started storming and raining into the arena. So I did the exact same thing that you did in this video for the liverpool. Haha! Worked like a charm, she even turned her head to the rain and never acted out at that area! The other horses bolted the first time they came to the rain, and even after kept turning their butts to it.
Thank you so much for these videos you do. I am thrilled you approach common problems with humor and tactics that work in training. Your approach is so needed in the eventing community. God Bless you and your beautiful wife.
I would like to thank you for this! For 3 years i have been suffering with my horse and the water jump!! However i only used force!! Now he jumps it relaxed.. Also please note, you have to keep doing this for at least a month! 3-4 times a week.
I have never seen this channel but these videos are great! Very informative but very entertaining at the same time, I look forward to more of your videos!
The whole "whip" thing, for my horse I have trained him so that he knows a light tap on the shoulder means "bad" without scaring him, but I would only do that if he ran out something silly :) Like a teeny cross pole, or yesterday he ran out a set of poles of the ground! heehee
Funny thing was I riding him he bolts throws me I get back and grab my ipad to check and this comment is here well he has been ridden by inflation child who always wanted to go fast and he is quite will WE WILL GET TO THE BOTTEM OF THIS:)
HorseLovers Equine my horse Moco just runs....he just...runs....so...don’t...don’t ride him with a whip or spurs XD I fell off him once by barely kicking him XD
I don't know but is his position really strange does he arch his back or is that just me and at the end he stands up then bounces into a halt nice horse though and really good vids.
My problem is my horse is extremely afraid of any tarp (especially liver pools) and, more mildly, bags of any kind. I am lucky to get him a half ring's distance to a tarp/pool let alone near or over it. His previous owner told a story of leaving a tarp next to his stall overnight to try and show him it was okay. But when she came out the next morning he had hives and was basically having a horse panic attack. So I don't know what to do
Hi I know I am not quite them but I think I can help! first off get a plastic bag (small one preferably) and just let him? sniff it reward him every single time he even goes near it. make sure you reward him. once he is OK with that then rub it down his neck and down his back so he associates the plastic with a nice starch! then get a bigger peice and see if he walk on it; do the same as the small one . if at any point he gets scared start again. if he does step on it reward him *straight* away. rember patience is a virtue :)
Hm. I’m not a grea trainer, but I do deal with horses like that. How young is he? If he’s under 8/10 it should bear easy to fix. Walk him close to it on foot, if he barks or won’t go near it, just retry. You can also let him sniff bags or put god (what? God? Food*) in a plastic bag and open the plastic bag and take good out so maybe he’ll associate that with food
Is it just me or do his stirrups look way to short. Idk to me they look like they affect his position. I noticed his back isn't really all that straight. And his hands are kinda bouncy. Im not saying this in any way against this channel because they are way better of riders than i am. But just saying
We use a tarp as we dont have an actual liverpool. But my pony walks over it or trots or canters it without a jump over top of it. What can I do for her to actually jump it? We started with two poles and she jumped those.
My horse Seb approaches the jump so nicely and you feel your going to clear it, an then when he's about 30cm away and I'm going into 2 point he's stops and chucks me off, what should I do he bites if you hold his mane.
I'd use a lot more leg and what I do sometimes with my horse, is when you're going to the first jump, whack with the stick ONCE behind your leg so he knows you mean business. It won't hurt him. It'll just wake him up. Grab mane right at take off. When you feel his front legs leave the air, that's when you grab. Hope this helps!
Angelica Catlee show him the buckets. Desensitize him essentially. Lead him past the buckets slowly - you go closer to the bucket and keep walking him around, each lap around the buckets get further away from the bucket, let him notice the bucket is there and that it won't hurt him. Be calm, patient and gentle - if he jumps away keep trying! you're his friend and he sees you as a leader~ if you're scared he will be scared too. Good luck! :)
Go buy one. Make sure you have a shelter hay water a pasture a stall blanket in harsh winter. Tack, brushes bandages antiseptic and a halter;) good luck make sure you find a good horse on the older side if it's your first horse( not any thing under 7)
My mom and dad wouldn't buy me one I feel like I'm a horse lover and I feel like I have a good condition but I haven't touched one or rided one I need help I 😢😔🙏
always enjoy your video's guys. Expressly the intro, Rock/Metal. My world. If you ever need music (gratis) for future video's, reach me. Aside from riding professionally, I own a Music Publishing company. You might enjoy some instrumentals from Avery Watts. (I license to the NFL, NBA, NHL, Olympics and more). Happy to share with fellow horse professionals. Happy riding, keep up the great productions. -MC
Good lord people. Bits and bridles are not bad when used in good hands, like his. He's a top rider who is giving a video to help people learn. Which some of you should!
Thank you for saying this
💞🐴🌍
Thank you!
Can't stop the uneducated from making stupid comments. They are worse than peta people.
Great advice, great riders, great personalities, great video quality. This should be a TV show especially for equestrians. If only there was a channel on TV specifically for stuff like this.
there's also "HorseTV" :)
*stares at gorgeous red leather saddle*
Ikr 🐴💞🌍
same 😭😂
So contradictory to the way George Morris does it. I wish everyone would do it in a way that the horse is prepared mentally for this! Cootos to you :)
This should be a tv show!:)
Hors3keep3r It is actually :) I believe on horse and country tv ^^
I miss you guys so much 😭😭 really wish you would come back. You guys have been killing it out there at shows though!
I really love the style of these tutorials! I don't actually own a horse anymore but I still love watching these!

I know this spooky reaction from my nice little horse on every colourful jump. So this great video helps me a lot for next show jumping.
Every week I look forward to a new video. Keep up the good work!
His hands are so soft with the reins. My trainer is so harsh with his horse yes the horse is green but when I ride it he works well with me because I have soft hands even my horse is green and works well with my soft hands
Don't change!
Maybe look into finding a different trainer.
I've never seen a cuter horse in my whole life. Love Tex!

I LOVE the way you are introducing your horse to the water.
Thank you so much you have gave me so much confidence to school my horses and help my horses be more confident near the Liverpool.
Thank you so much for these videos you do. I am thrilled you approach common problems with humor and tactics that work in training. Your approach is so needed in the eventing community. God Bless you and your beautiful wife.
And I LOVE Tex! If I wasn't in school, I'd love to be one of his owners!
I'm in love with this horse😍

I would like to thank you for this! For 3 years i have been suffering with my horse and the water jump!! However i only used force!! Now he jumps it relaxed.. Also please note, you have to keep doing this for at least a month! 3-4 times a week.

That seems like a good idea my horse if he sees the whip he acts like a race horse and just goes even if its being used for another horse
HorseLovers Equine lol :) That sucks :( Maybe he had an experience with them, or he's just weird lol
Funny thing was I riding him he bolts throws me I get back and grab my ipad to check and this comment is here well he has been ridden by inflation child who always wanted to go fast and he is quite will WE WILL GET TO THE BOTTEM OF THIS:)

That'd the point. They help keep ur heels down more. In jumping u usually put your stirrup holes up 1 or 2
+Olivia mcgree yeah i know. Im a jumper. But i just thought that his stirrups were too short. Like shorter than usual
+Amber Reindel they seem a little short but some people work better infuess
in places like australia and ireland, they keep a more crooked back, because that's just how we're taught.
Omg I have the same brow band!❤️
LOL love the begining
I thought this video was about introducing horses to scousers. The instructions were unclear and now there is a Liverpudlian trapped in my paddock.
I want that horse
Thanks for the help i will try that
Thank you so much! Now I know what to do. :)
At the beginning where he said instills fear into the bravest of horses yes I said leaves
HAHA the liver pool is something to fear especially on windy days, it will stand up and walk! *this has happen to me* beware XD
Nyawwww Tex! 😍
We use a tarp as we dont have an actual liverpool. But my pony walks over it or trots or canters it without a jump over top of it. What can I do for her to actually jump it? We started with two poles and she jumped those.
it's sad that tex is for sale. He's so gorgeous! i wish i had that much money.
I'm gonna tell you how to overcome this simple piece of plastic.
BAHAHAHAHA. Oh my goodness. Each episode gets better and better!
do you train in america??could you recommend a huge showjumping training center in america where one can excell, train like the best !!??
you forgot a problem that I have with my pony he dose not like water how do I help him overcome that fear
What brand of saddle do you use?
Tex is beautiful

Isn't Tex just stunning!

I go with the flow as best as possible. :)
Gosh, so many of these comments are so negative. I just read one that said that he's
Okay so I got a horse that is scared of like buckets and stuff how do I prevent him to come outside without backing him up
Angelica Catlee show him the buckets. Desensitize him essentially. my horse is 3 and he just steps in the liver pool :)
"OH MY GOODNESS THERE'S THE LIVERPOOL" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA o my godddddd
I am confused. Are you guys Aussie? Is this filmed in Australia?
Where can I find where tex is listed for sale?
Do you know the brand name of the saddle?
how much are you asking for tex? also how old?
I wasn't really paying attention to the video then he got all serious and it scared me.
What color is that horse?
Is a Liverpool an American or Australian word? Cause I’ve always called them water trays or water troughs. Is that just me?
I always thought a Liverpool was a lot of poles making up a vertical. This to me in the UK is a water tray and is no big deal.
i did not get a bit of that be cous i am a barrel racing girl
Then why did you watch it?
was I the only one who noticed that your standards are huge!
i want your horse
What colour is your horse?
