Hi, thanks so much for this very helpful tutorial. I am working on spreads and I want an image on the left side be enlarged on click and so it will be seen also over the adjacent page. Is this possible? When I export my doc to ePub, part of the enlarged image is hidden in the adjacent page. Thank you, I will wait for your reply.
Knel, it's hard for me to picture your question, if possible connect with me via email and we can continue from there. Maybe some screenshots will help. Thank you! 😀👋
if I export the epub with fixed lay out, and preview it in books, it works, but only my roll-off effects doesn't show or work. It loses alot of user expierence. Any idea what im doing wrong?
Hi Elias. Thank you for your tutorial. I am trying to add a slideshow as a pop up once my picture has been selected/clicked (rather than just one photo). Is this possible in InDesign? If so, could you explain how it would be accomplished?
Sarah Jackson If course you can, it's all about the Object State. So that object state will have a gallery let's assume of 5 photos with two arrow buttons for next and previous state. It's usually called a nested object state. Try that and thank you for watching!! 🙏
Also for the popup I have recorded a Popup video tutorial on EPUB, the previous one from the one you watched, that will give you an insight, hope that helps. Thank you! 😀
Betty Chen I export it as an EPUB file format, also some features work for an INTERACTIVE PDF file format. Let me know if that works for you. Thank you! 😀
Exporting it either as an EPUB document or PDF interactive does not work. I mean... after being exported, all the animations and the thumbnails of the images do not work. Why is that? I am using InDesign CC 2018.
Vi An, you can only export as an EPUB and in my example, I exported it as a Fixed Layout EPUB. Interactive PDF will not work most of the time with such complex animations and Object States. One recommendation is, create a new document, add an animation, export that and test it. Try that and see where it gets you. Thank you! 😀
@@EliasSarantopoulos Thank you for the reply. The only way it worked is when I exported it in a .swf format. Could it be because I am using a portable version of the software? But anyway, thank you for the descriptive and useful video! Your explanations did help me grasp the animation options in InDesign.
Vi An I am very happy to hear that, I thank you for watching! Honestly I have not tried the mobile version, I only export as EPUB which works inside the iPad since I am mostly producing magazines and interactive books. 👍😀
EX Gomaa, send me a private email if you wish to further connect with me so I can look at the issue at hand. If so, please zip all the files InDesign imports so I can see the whole picture. Let me know, thank you. 😀
Excellent!
Thank you! 😀

What file do you save it as for the animations to work?

Elias Sarantopoulos, there are two EPUB- Fixed Layout and Reflowable, which one would you suggest?
