1. Lift and open the dispensing case
2. Remove the pick, and make sure it’s open (press the “q” button if not)
3. Clamp onto the floss in the dispenser and press the floss pick until it closes
4. Press floss string down through the notch
5. Pull it away from you to cut the string as close to the notch as possible (when strung, the floss should be about 1.5 inches long)
6. Take your pick - floss your top or bottom teeth first. You’ll need to restring at least once!
7. Press the “q” button to dispose of used floss, after the top and bottom sections - then you’re done!

I love mine! Two things that would take it to the next level, a built in pick/poker and if the mirror was 5x magnified! It would be perfect then!
THE DENTAL FLOSS IS AWFUL, I cant write an honest review on their website, so I thought I would anywhere I could. I wasted $20 on the dental holder with floss from Walmart and the floss continuously falls apart and gets stuck in my teeth and the stupid holder is sharp and cuts your gums, and doesn't even hold the "floss". NONE of the reviews on their site are about the dental floss/holder. I do not understand why they have dishonest reviews on their site. I cant be the only one WHO HATES THEIR "FLOSS"! Sorry im irritated because it worked ONCE! and I threw away the box and now im stuck with the POS!!
SOOOO MUCH ABOUT my experience with quip SUCKS! The fact that I had to watch a video about how to use the pick is wrong, but canceling the auto ship, having to pay return shipping anyway and THEN it is an act of congress to get my money back…. like you, just venting since I wasn’t able to post complaints on their website.
The instructional video is terrible as well

It's a great concept with terrible execution. The floss does not cut easily. I have to break it by hand. It frays, slips out of the pick, and I found myself going back to hand floss spots. The toothbrush is excellent but I returned the pick after several days.

For me I just opened it out of the box and it won’t cut. Ive even tried taking it between my fingers and YANKING it against the metal cutter part HARD. It won’t cut.
I had really bad crowding pre braces, and the floss is way too thick for my teeth. It gets stuck all the time. I'm canceling my refills on this one. It hurts.
I love my quip so much! The floss doesn’t shred and it cleans my teeth nicely! Very environmentally friendly too ❤️
Really really wanted this beautifully designed floss pick to work flawlessly, but it. Just. Didn't. Like other commenters, I had trouble with the floss itself shredding or loosening-sometimes even breaking completely-when I tried to floss between my molars. I found myself using hair tweezers to try to pull the shredded remnants out from between my teeth :/
The pick doesn't hold on tightly to the string throughout the entire floss, I have to restring it over and over and over. Also, the second time I used it, the notch suddenly... stopped working. It stopped cutting the floss. Everytime I pulled, the floss would just get longer... and longer... and longer... I think I accidentally used up 15 days' worth of floss the 2 times I tried to use the notch. Finally I started snapping it off with my fingers and using the floss by itself without the pick...
I have reached out to customer service for a return/refund. It's only been 3 days since I received the pick. Let's see if they believe in their product enough to back it up. Or if this is a cynical cash grab.
UPDATING TO SAY THEY REFUNDED IT! And also to share this biodegradable floss I found on Amazon that I've been using for a few months. Frankly it does shred like 10% of the time, but nowhere as often as the Quip floss pick did. When it does, I have to use one of the mainstream plastic flosses to swipe it out, but it's better than nothing. There's 0 plastic involved, and they sell refills right on Amazon.

I just bought it and same problem. Notch won’t cut the floss. Just keeps dispensing more and getting longer. I want to refund it even though I just got it today
OH NO! I just ordered mine thinking this was more sustainable than my regular floss. I felt like i was using too much floss, since i had to get enough out to be able to wrap them around my fingers and thought this would be more efficient and economic! Yikes.
They need to upgrade the floss , it gets stuck in between my teeth but other than that super good !

I LOVE IT, best invention ever. My teeth are very straight and I don’t have any problems with the floss getting stuck. One thing is the cutter kinda sucks a little but a hack is to just rip it really quick and it will work good !
Great idea and I it is easy to get the floss into the pick but the floss does not stay taught enough for me. I use a product with refillable tips I purchased on Amazon and that works perfectly but I then have to throw out the plastic head. I let Quip know it is not working for me and they said I can return for a refund if I pay for the shipping (complete joke considering the shipping charge relative to the product cost). No doubt they should have refunded me with a credit on my next brush refill and thanked me for my input.
I really wanted to love this, because I absolutely love flossing my teeth, and I go through a lot of the disposable flosser picks. I love the sustainable approach, but the item itself just doesn’t work well. I bought 3 - 1 for my spouse, 1 for my office, and 1 for my bathroom (like I said, I love flossing!) We tried all 3 and they all work the same, which is “not well.” The main issue is that the clamps don’t hold onto the floss, so it just gets pulled loose after a few teeth. Then the sliver runs into problems cutting the floss; sometimes it cuts, sometimes it doesn’t. Finally, the size of the actual piece that goes inside your mouth is just a bit large for me. Difficult to get it back to my farthest molars. I just requested a return though their website chat, so hopefully I will hear back soon. FWIW - Our kids use Quip toothbrushes and watermelon toothpaste, and we love those products!
Just use regular floss instead of disposable flossers ?

@@vickylachapelle3588I just hate it. I used to dread flossing when I used regular floss, and I tried many different types. It hurts my fingers, I can't do it one-handed, way too hard to get between the back molars. Maybe I have a small mouth...? The picks were a total game changer for me, they made flossing quick and enjoyable. I'll stick to those until I can find a reusable version that keeps my flossing habit going strong.
@@wren2255we tried 3 different colors. I see a lot of positive and negative reviews throughout the comments, maybe Quip just needs better quality control.
Well just got one today and it is defective. Won’t open. Guess I’ll be returning it tomorrow. Was thinking exchange but not anymore after reading some reviews on here. Thank you all for sharing!

It works fine in the front, but it caves in the back on my molars. Am I doing something wrong?
I wanted to love this so much! After just one tooth, the floss is so loose it is almost falling out of the flosser. Unfortunately, it is total garbage. I wish there was a fix for this!
I’ve been using it with the miles of complimentary floss I have from my dentist and that’s way better quality. I like the pick though.
This is what I was hoping to see. I can’t imagine buying expensive refills for bad floss, when floss is really cheap and you get it free from the dentist.
The pick doesn't hold floss very well at all. I can only get through a couple of my front teeth before the floss slides out of the clamps and the pick doesn't work on molars at all, as those are a little bit closer together. Anybody else having the same issue? Not sure if my pick is just defective (doesn't seem to be).

@@a.d.7333 You have no idea how excited I was for a product like this. It felt too good to be true and turns out it was. I'm working on getting a refund, but they are making it kind of difficult (haven't heard back on the review process in a week) and are only offering to refund a portion of what I paid to get the product.
Dang this makes me incredibly sad. This is why I waited to buy it. Ugh. Why is it so hard to find a decent reusable floss pick?!
just used mine for the first time and had the same experience :( was very excited to get it but it’s super frustrating that you have to change the floss 4-5 times per use. it loses tension or just flat out breaks.
Worked well for me. Maybe I have gapped teeth 😂
I have had no problems with this and my teeth are pretty tight together! Sorry for the other folks here that had a different experience but I just wanted to give my positive two cents :)

I just bought mine from target, I tried to use it, the floss doesn’t cut properly. I’ve tried many angles and legit just yanking it tight and hard against the metal piece with my fingers, and it just keeps dispensing more floss. It legit won’t cut. I want to return it even though I just bought it
The floss gets stuck between my teeth but other than that it's awesome! Flat floss rather than round floss seems to work better personally.
Hi guys, I wanted to provide some feedback and suggest a redesign of the product. The concept is great and after learning how to actually handle it, I really like it, but it could be better.
Suggestions:
- Redesign the button and opening system. It gets stuck often.
- Have a system in place that prevents the floss from reaching the hinge. This will prevent the picker to have a good grasp and it will loosen up after the first insertion. People are complaining about it a lot.
- the floss is not good. The feeling between the teeth is awful. It feels like scratching a school board with your nails. I have to use other solutions that feel better.
- The gloss cutter doesn't work. I have to use external tools to get the job done.
- The box (container) is not sealed. It looks like it was made in Afghanistan by the talibans. The intended aesthetic effect is lost. The slick design is destroyed by the gap left by the cover.
Perhaps I got a bad unit, or perhaps they all are like mine. If this is true, then you must work on your quality control efforts. People aren't talking possitive things about the product.
I would suggest a way to allow people to use the floss of preference. Offer yours but don't force it. If your product is good it will gain traction by itself.
I did add my preferred floss into the pod that came with it and I love the it.
I hope the next version (if there is any) will hit the market soon.

My pick won't open. I thought I was doing something wrong.
If only it worked. Cutting the string is a pain. It doesn't cut easily an dyou have to push the string into place with the other hand to avoid it just running along the blade without cutting. The string doesn't fit between many teeth that a normal floss pick does. And it takes about 4 pieces every time you floss. Super annoying
This is happening to me!!!!!! It's so frustrating. The notch worked on the first night, but it's completely crapped out. The floss just smoothly runs through it.

You have to press hard! Lol I thought my was broken at first then I pressed harder. Hope that helps!

So I bought this and the handle won’t even open. So basically I can’t even use it .
I wish I could like this thing. The floss isn’t smooth at all - it doesn’t fit between most of my teeth and it breaks away from the handle every couple of teeth.
Omg I loved the idea of it because it doesn’t produce so much waste like other flosses with the disposal plastic. I really wanted to like this so badly but everything about it sucked!!! The floss pick was so thick and I have a small mouth… doesn’t work with trying to get in the backs of my teeth and the floss thread…. Don’t get me started 🤦🏻♀️ it frays so much and it doesn’t even cut! It worked well the first 5 times and then after that, the floss literally cut through the grip part and the plastic. I have to re-thread the pick after every 2/3 teeth because it starts to get all stretchy and it won’t even go through anymore. Quip sucks so bad. I also saw that they have a “beginners” mouth wash thing… like really? Who needs help using mouth wash lol.
The idea is smart but this things a peice of crap and the floss rips out when i put it in my tooth

you gotta struggle with re-flossing it 4-8 times per floss, and the floss shreds. You gotta sometimes floss floss outta your teeth. Its not worth the hassle imo.
The mouthwash station leaks any time you use it (both on the bottom and top), and is always full of nastiness. It hardly works.

Piece of shyt.... couldn't figure out how to use this, so I came here, turns out the one I got don't work. The "button" to open the damn thing doesn't work. Returning this
2 major flaws in my opinion. Handle is too Wide and it needs to me much longer.

Good idea, garbage execution. Too much time designing it to look like Apple made it and not enough time making it work well.
Floss does not hold well in pick and pulls out. Floss does not cut easy. The two things it really needs to do.
