It drives me nuts that I’m struggling to find a reusable flosser that most people like. I’m disabled and I can’t really floss without a pick. Like plastic straws, some disabled people need floss picks and have no choice but to use disposable versions. I’m just looking for an alternative :/

More products are coming to the market, slowly but surely.
Availability does depend on your location. Quip has one but this is in the US.

I have heard good things about the GUM Flossmate. It's around $5.00, maybe that would meet your needs!

They have biodegradable floss harps. Pretty cheap as well

The loose floss issue could be fixed SO easily by adding a small silicone flex point between the two points of the holder. That way you could push the two points together while winding the floss on and it would pull it taut when you finish winding and let go. The product itself is a good concept, but really needs a redesign to be effective.

The quip flosser is useless too, the floss doesnt hold right enough and sags after first use

Alright here's the scoop: There is a reason why we can't find a well manufactured reusable floss holder. Unfortunately, the actual good design has already been patent sniped by one of the big players in this space. So we won't have one for at least a decade. Good luck on China making one in the meantime.

I can't believe the inventor of this product received funding. The company execs should have consulted with you before the launch. Are you planning a review of the Orthomechanics Easy Flosser?

We have no immediate plans to review this, but we may do so in the future. 👍

I will add it to our list of products to potentially review Alexa. I can't say if and when it will be though.

I immediately noticed the bulky square edges and that was off-putting to me.

Yes I found this worthless as it was too loose to get between teeth. I was searching to see the proper way to put it on. Yours was the only one I found. Going yo garbage. I guess they went out of business after spending the rest of their. Money in increased shipping

I came here because I thought quip flosser was useless.
The floss it comes with absolutely horrible. It fell apart after 3 teeth. I use it with regular floss and threw away the floss it came with so I guess that’s a bonus.

does it work better with a different type of floss?? i want to buy one of these reusable flossers but i’m cautious because of the bad reviews :|

@@annagrozdanov Yeah it does. I just went back to using angled disposable flossers because it wasn't worth the trouble to save a few dollars.

Sad, seemed like a better design than flossaid, way less wasteful.

Literally just use the flossaid mold and then make it better with the durapik clip holder. Jesus!

“Single use plastics aren’t that bad for the environment.” - you have no clue. Read up. They are a massive problem. Your review just screams ignorance and privilege.

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  2 роки тому +3

Anne, I think you have taken my comment out of context or misunderstood the point I was trying to make.
I said, 'plastics, if continually reused, isn't too bad for the environment, all things considered'. I am not an advocate of single use plastic, but there are refillable flossers like Durapik made from plastic, that are softer on the gums and teeth than the metal offered by Durapik. Thus these might be better for people. A refillable flosser where the handle is plastic and used many times over.
