    Pthalo blue is very strong you only need a tiny amount. Diox purple is probably the strongest. Among brands sold in the USA that have thick consistency - cheap: Winton are relatively thick, high-quality but very expensive: Old Holland. Blue Ridge are somwhere in the middle. Definitely NOT Gamblin or M.Harding.

    • @AAlexanderArt

      Thickper paint has less oil in it. Liquid clear or Magic Clear is used to thin the paint for highlights or glazes or wet the dry canvas to begin painting again. Thanks for asking.

    Thanks so much for this video. I'm looking to get started using the wet-on-wet technique (inspired by watching Bob Ross), but due to time constraints they seldom went into the most foundational details of how to do it: 1). What magic white is and how to apply it and 2). What brand/type of oil paints are thick. This helps!

    Lauire Anderson you well may know that bill Alexander and Bob Ross both teach wet on wet styles
    you are say not tp load the bursh, all while Bob Ross does say to load the bursh and both men teach wet on wet.

    • @AAlexanderArt
      @AAlexanderArt  Рік тому

      Both men teach wet on wet. Bill painted for 40plus years. He knew exactly how to handle the brush loaded with a lot of paint. Most beginners struggle with using too much paint. That is why we suggest people start with using less paint. Bill only had 27 minutes. He created a process where he could deliver a lesson and a completed painting in that time. He had to change the way he did some things. When Bill painted in his studio he used less paint.
