If you look closely, you can see she is using a container of Gamblin's Gamvar Varnish. Developed in collaboration with the National Gallery of Art, Gamblin Gamvar Varnish saturates and gives greater depth to the colors in your painting and gives your work a unified and protective semi-gloss surface. Virtually odorless, premixed, and ready to apply, Gamvar Gloss goes on water-clear, stays water-clear, and can be easily and safely removed with Gamblin Gamsol Odorless Mineral Spirits. Gamvar Gloss can be applied with a brush when the thickest areas of your painting are thoroughly dry and firm to the touch.
Yours is my favorite UA-cam channel, I always look forward to your videos coming out & get excited to watch them. I usually wait to watch them when the house is quiet so I can have all my focus on the video without any distractions so I can take it all in. So please don't take this the wrong way... This video was so hard for me to listen to. Your voice is usually so relaxing and I feel like the music was overpowering and the voice was sped up. Please don't change how you use to do your videos.
Thank you so much! I did two paint along tutorials and had these problems. I got used to letting my paint dry or get tacky first then building up. This is cool but harder than it looks.
I really had issues with my wet on wet mixing and muddying. I usually do layers that dry, however I am excited to try this so I can get quicker at Plein Aire works ! I’ve been using oil since I was 12. Thanks so much for the tips on the dry canvas and medium/paint ratio. The brush tips will be so helpful too. I’m in NC too thanks for all your great videos. You got me excited about my craft when I had reached a blocked standstill, stuck too tight from highly detailed commission work. Now I dream about painting again :) I love that you have a wide range of subjects too! ❤ 🖼️ 🎨 🎉
I am new to working with paints (Have drawn in pencil and charcoal all my life) so please forgive this very basic question: What were you applying to the painting with the large brush at the very end? It looked clear. Varnish? If so do you wait for the painting to dry before applying this? Cheers!
It wasn't clear what you were doing at the end and how it matched up with what you were saying when you dipped the large brush into the clear liquid and gentle brushed it across the whole painting. What was in the clear mixture? How long had the painting been allowed to dry before you did this step? Any further explanation would be appreciated.
This type of spontaneity and improvisation is what real art is about. I do a bit of painting myself but my approach is pedantic painting by numbers compared to this. Great job.
Great video and great advice. However, adding music is not necessary, and I find it a complete distraction. So many UA-cam clips have music, as if authors think it essential. It is not. I watch these videos to learn something, and have to shut out the music in order to concentrate on the content.
This is an unrelated topic, but I was just billing a client for a piece of furniture we built, and I wonder if you know about IPN electronic checks to bill people? I started doing this years ago - I no longer see 3% or more of my hard-earned money going to credit card companies, and instead, I only get charged 50 cents per transaction. It's great for larger transactions. I've had IPN e-check for years and it came as part of my quick books subscription. I send people bills via email directly from QB. Anyway -- thought I'd share :)
Just FYI, the music was overpowering your voice, making it harder for me to hear. I do have some hearing loss and competing sounds adds difficulty. Good info otherwise. Thanks.
would love to listen to this video but that music is so loud and annoying that I can barely hear your voice. Please offer option to turn off the music! or just remove the music all together.
Please...the music is so unnecessary, and makes it very difficult for even the slightly hard of hearing to understand you. I wanted to watch. I could not. And what purpose does it serve anyway?
Could you explain what is that clear substance you covered your painting with at the end? did you have to first let it completely dry? Thank you 🙏

Really like this piece a lot! the strokes and softness really helps express the subject!
beautiful ... it reminds me of the works of Edgar Degas...
Certainly
Thank you so much! I did two paint along tutorials and had these problems. I got used to letting my paint dry or get tacky first then building up. This is cool but harder than it looks.
The advice starts at 2:24.
Brilliant with the metal sheet stuck on with command strips for the magnet wall!! Do you have a link for that magnet panel?? 👀
OUTSTANDING

What are you brushing on at the end? Is this a varnish?
Excellent & enjoyable demo; thanks👍👍
Muchas gracias es maravilloso ver cómo trabajas.
Thanks for sharing! And how long do you wait before varnishing it? It looks you varnish it very soon.
I like your delicate and calm colors. Very nice !
Great demo...how long did you wait before putting clear coat on top? Thank you!
This type of spontaneity and improvisation is what real art is about. I do a bit of painting myself but my approach is pedantic painting by numbers compared to this. Great job.
Love this demo, so helpful!
Chelsea could you provide the brand name of your easel set up here? The magnetic plate holder etc…
Literally what was on my mind when I started painting this morning. Thank you so much!
WHEN did you do that last big brush wash of medium? Did you let your paint dry? You got there so fast that I cannot discern WHEN.
Très bon travail artiste bravo maître 😊
Just what I needed. Thankyou.
What is that "clear coat" at the end?
Ma'am, i really like ur paintings, so would u plz like to share the link of ur brushes n colors brand? If those r available on Amazon?
This is a beautiful little piece! The dancer looks like Sarah Lamb ballerina with The Royal Ballet of London.
My 12 year old son wants to know what you applied to your painting at the end that makes a beautifull finish.
liquitex varnish ..after the painting is completly dry
She uses Gamblin Gloss Varnish
👏👏🙏 Well done! I love that in Intro and music. Other than using solvent in painting, you described Everything I do fantastically!
I love that style 💜
Please tell me the size of your canvas.
Great art education thank u
Great video.
Background music could be a tad lower. It's covering your narration up, especially at the beginning of the video.
Stop that music pleas.

At the very end you put on on the painting? Was this after it was touch dry or at end of your painting session?
What kind of easel are you working with?
What did you paint over it with at the end?
Great painting.
👌
Beautiful,nice sharing friend😃✌️.
What painting brand you use ?

Excellent demo 👍
i Like how you paint on the kanvas
Wow.. That was an amazing advice
@1:01. Already good. Thanks for the videos.
Thank you so much for all of your videos! They are incredibly helpful 💌
Just what I needed.
Great advice thanks for the video
Amazing! Thank you!
What did you use on the brush @ 7:27 ? The stuff that made the color pop.
Gamvar. It’s a varnish.
Thank you so much!! This is very helpfull.🌹
🌹o🌷
Very very nice ❤❤❤
I came to this way over time
Watched many of your videos, I found you paint vanish imitieately. Not let painting dry. Why ?
very nice! but music too loud. I didn't get
Very informative
❤️ Loving it
Thank you x
x
Nice video! Just the background music is to loud compared to your voice. :)
And what kind of easel is this?
Best regards
Beautiful.
Fat over lean does not apply in alla prima painting. But Only in painting in layers on already dry paint, or am I mistaken?
Thanks
Гениально!👏👏👏
I start with a good drawing.
magic ...
Helpful video. Thank you. For me the music was great but too loud and distracting to your voice.
Just FYI, the music was overpowering your voice, making it harder for me to hear. I do have some hearing loss and competing sounds adds difficulty. Good info otherwise. Thanks.
Wow........i think, this work on water mixable oil paints.....
Your background music is so loud I couldn’t concentrate on what you were saying!!
+1

Her voice is really okay for me ... Interesting 🤔
Why have music banging away in the background? - it makes it very difficult or impossible for older people who are hard of hearing
If you find you've put too much paint on the canvas just tonk it with newspaper and off you go again.
Great tutorial, but I agree with the others about the music: ditch it.
Music is to loud to focus on your voice
Her voice is usually more clear and slower. This video was way different than normal. :(
@@tinkerquinn8580 thank you, good to know :)

music is too loud..😔
Can’t hear because of the music
😍🥰🦋💕👍
would love to listen to this video but that music is so loud and annoying that I can barely hear your voice. Please offer option to turn off the music! or just remove the music all together.
Please...the music is so unnecessary, and makes it very difficult for even the slightly hard of hearing to understand you. I wanted to watch. I could not. And what purpose does it serve anyway?
To make her sound 'modern'.
Music way to loud. Can't hear much of what your saying.
it would be nice if we could just listen to your talking without having to blank out the background music...
I find this so confusing! so many words to explain a simple step!!
Cut the music please it's annoying!
Too loud !
Speak very fast
if not for the horrible background noise that you intended as music, this video could have been a little useful. Please !!
the music is interfering with your speech!! Difficult to hear clearly!!
