The original master of the almighty brush!
I met him once in Long Beach, Cali. He was set up in front of a laundromat giving a lesson. One of my life regrets is saying no when he offered me a chance to paint. He said - I can see the fire in your eyes, come on!
Love you, almighty dude.
It’s not too late! Join our classes and you will be painting in no time.

This is why I keep notifications on. I have some of his programs on VHS. I'm thinking of converting them to DVD and uploading them for all to see.
We will be uploading all of Bill’s shows here. Please don’t upload the copy of your videos. These shows are copyrighted. Thanks for watching. We will be uploading more over the coming weeks and months.
@@AAlexanderArt You should consider putting together a documentary on Bill, especially after many likely became aware of him from the incredibly sad Bob Ross documentary on Netflix. I think if more people were aware of Bill’s story and his passion for teaching it would help the channel grow.
Lovely painting

Who wish that Bill was live today in UA-cam, streaming, HD videos age
Wow this painting is amazing seeing just a bunch of colors turning into a masterpiece. I see why my granddaddy loved his work and why he took the classes by mr Alexander and Ms Andre to learn this technique. Do you still offer classes to become Alexander Art Instructors?
Thank you for your comments. We are not certifying instructors at this time.
I been meaning to ask this question, will y’all start offering 150-200ml tubes of paint and magic clear in the same size jar as magic white again
What Color’s did he use such a beautiful painting love his work
OMG more videos!!!
"The Master"
It's omitted in official postings but I'm wondering what is the name of that bubbly synth tune that was used for the theme song. Was it an original modern composition or a rendition of a classical or traditional song?
I still hope for his videos being streamed on twitch/youtube :)
Welcome back Bill. I'm gonna call that number for a free catalog 😉
More videos please!
How did you prep your canvis
you are too great o believe
HI LORI IT SEEMS I HAVE SEEN ALL OF BILL'S PAINTINGS SO I REWATCH 2,3 SOMETIMES 4 TIMES MANY OF THOSE I'VE BOOKMARKED BUT THEN LIKE THIS ONE I FIND IS NEW..ARE THEIR MANY LEFT FOR YOU TO SHOW AND IS ANY OF BILL'S EARLY WORK , LIKE VERY EARLY ANY DIFFERENT THAN HIS LANDSCAPES (WHICH ARE MY FAVORITE ) LIKE MAYBE HE DID MORE VASES W FLOWERS AND ARE THEY AVAILABLE TO VIEW ? THANKS FOR WHAT YOU AND TOM DO🎨
Hi Matthew. Oh how I wish I had a lot more videos to share with you. We have a few left that we haven’t posted yet. The shows that belong to us are from 1986 on. We don’t have access to his early shows. Did you see the Live Bill Alexander Celebration we did last year for his birthday? We posted photos of his early work there. You can find it under live events. Please let me know if you can’t find it. Thanks for your support!
@@AAlexanderArt YOUR WELCOME. NO I HAVEN'T SEEN THAT LIVE CELEBRATION I'LL FIND IT. SO I THINK I HEARD YOU SAY YOU MET BILL IS THAT CORRECT ? MAYBE YOU COULD OPEN TUESDAY W A FEW MINUTES OF HISTORY SUCH AS WHERE YOU MET HIM ETC. WOULD BE FUN TO HEAR. I WAS GOING TO ASK THIS QUESTION ON YOUR LIVE YOU TUBE ON TUESDAY ( IF YOUR DOING IT THIS MONTH ?) BUT MAYBE THIS IS A BETTER OPPORTUNITY. I BOUGHT A FEW TUBES OF PAINT ,COUPLE BRUSHES,PALLET KNIFE AND PAPER PALLET ALMOST 6 YEARS AGO. ..I'VE ALSO BOUGHT SOME CANVAS ALONG THOSE YEARS HAVE PROB 10 NOW AND LAST MONTH SPENT APPROX $60- ON MORE PAINT. I'VE SCRATCHED THE CANVAS W THE KNIFE (NO PAINT)TO MAKE THAT SOUND AND PRETENDED TO MAKE A TREE WITH FAN BRUSH ,OTHERWISE NONE OF THOSE MATERIALS HAVE BEEN USED-- WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME ?😎 HAVE YOU MET ANYONE WITH A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE ? I'VE WATCH BILL ALMOST DAILY FOR MONTHS AND FEEL LIKE I MIGHT BE ABLE TO CREATE AN ALIZERON CRIMSON/ PTHALO BLUE SKY MAYBE EVEN WITH SOME CLOUDS. I REALLY WANT TO PAINT A MOUNTAIN AND I'M ABLE TO VISUALIZE / MEMORIZE THE COLORS BILL USED AND TECHNIQUE ; PAINT ON HIS KNUCKLE BECAUSE KNIFE IS SO FLAT AGAINST CANVAS... I'M GOING TO ASK YOU A QUESTION TUESDAY THOUGH ABOUT HIS SHADOW COLOR SO LOOK FOR THAT IF YOU COULD YOU AND TOM CAN TAG TEAM THAT. THEN THERE'S THE WATER THE START OF THE SECOND HALF OF HIS PAINTING I LOVE THAT PART. THE STRAIGHT LINES BELOW VS THE SQUIRRLY LINES ABOVE IN SKY. AT AROUND 5:00 IN AFTERNOON SOMETIMES I HAVE FALLEN ASLEEP WATCHING BILL PAINT I'M SO RELAXED AND NO I'M NOT IN MY 80's OR 90's I'M ONLY 49. I'M PAINTING IN MY HEAD BUT NOT CANVAS WHY DO YOU THINK SO ?
I have a question...Did Bill ever do any more serious painting. Things that took weeks or months or ever years to complete?
Gigi, early in his career he painted in a traditional method where he would wait for paintings to dry and build layer upon layer. Once he started teaching he was focused on finding ways to make things easier for people to learn to paint. His mission was to teach as many people to paint as possible. He developed a thick, firm paint that made it possible to paint layer upon layer without waiting for the paint to dry. All of these videos were created with the purpose to show everyone that it is possible to paint.
@@AAlexanderArt I see! So this was more of an interest which became a mission. I like that he uses a good slathering of paint. Some artists use as little as possible and the finished product is 2 dimentional. I love the texture of dried paints, the mountains and valleys. The product line is still available in its original formula isn't it?
Are you painting with oil or acrylic?
خیلی عالی
15:44 I called the number... it's a medical alert necklace company now. You know, like if you fall and can't get up.

A disney background painting
Since two painters emerged about the same time, can you point me to any articles or commentaries concerning the techniques of those two, Alexander (my personal favorite as I've said before) and Ross. I'm sure there must be critics out here somewhere, right?
Gigi,
Thanks for asking. They didn’t actually emerge at the same time. Bill Alexander was Bob Ross’s teacher.
@@AAlexanderArt Amazing! Mr. Alexander does seem the more fatherly of the two. My mother and I watched Mr. Ross as well but I was always distracted by his very soft spokeness. Bill Alexander was like my own dad in dress, age, gritty old guy voice, reassuring and capable. Ok, ill leave you alone for now. Maybe on payday I'll come shopping for paint. Thank you!
I feel bill is more passion and depth, bob is more relaxed more mellow tones.
Bill was 27 years older than Bob who stumbled upon him while serving in the Air Force.
Bill Alexander taught Bob Ross.....Bill was around painting on TV before Bob Ross was heard of.
Hello, I was wondering whether Bill ever painted portraits of people or pets?
Thanks for asking. In Bill’s early career he painted portraits. I don’t know that he ever painted pets.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😍😍😍😍❤️❤️💯💯💯💯💯🇧🇷🇧🇷
I hope you entered to Heaven , painting for the Almigty God...
Just when I thought all the Hollywood German accents were exaggerated...
Autumn colors huh? I'm guessing orange, yellow and red are in there somewhere. Black is the color of the night however and all colors fade to black on a moonless night.
I almost expected him to say “let me know what you think in the comments!” and then realized
It is good for you to let us know in the comments what you think. I know Bill won’t say it as UA-cam wasn’t a thing when we recorded these shows but we are saying it. So please do let us know what you think. 😊
Are you painting with oil or acrylic?
Bill painted with oil.
