Why do all these painters always paint mountains??? Paint something in Iowa, of course they would put a mountain in it, I don't get it, don't get me wrong I love mountains, but in every painting,??? like eating pbjs every day, come on now
One of the greatest things about Bills teachings is how he makes sure others have the tools and knowledge they need to do exactly what he is doing and achieve the same results. I’m glad you enjoy his work!
Simply looking at him painting his master pieces makes me happy and makes my day beautiful & meaningful! Thank you Bill for all the encouraging words and always helping with each painting!🙏
I remember watching him on TV all the time when I was around 12 years old, now I’m 53. I loved all his paintings. Now I can watch his shows on UA-cam how wonderful. Thanks for posting.
Language can be a Barrier...yet Bill pushed through! And when he was "Outside" it was more for fresh air not to "copy" anything really! His Imagination Preparation took care of that!
My 7 year old granddaughter says she feels like jumping into the paintings they are so beautiful! He is so funny I love yo listen to him! Thank you Bill🙏🏻
Watched all his shows when he was on PBS. He has always been an inspiration to me. "You have to have dark to see light!" "Almighty paint brush!" He brought power to painting. Wonderful to see him in action. Thanks for posting.
I denk ziss is one of Onkel Willi's better paintings. When I think of Bill Alexander this type of painting springs to mind. It was very classic, balanced and beautiful. Du bist vermisst Onkel Willi. 💜
Grazie a voi che ci date l opportunità di vedere i meravigliosi video di Bill grande pittore magnifico ARTISTA che era quando era in vita e continua ad esserlo grazie ai vostri video. GRAZIE EEE A BILL E A TUTTI VOI. FIRMATO SACCO MARISA MOGLIE DI ANTONIO MAISANO
bob wasn't popular because of painting, his show wasn't really about painting, its clear bill is a much better painter but bob was about helping people relax, he attracted people because of his easygoing and gentle way of things, literaly like taking tranquilizers, watching and listening to bob is super relaxing...so thats why bob was popular, bill was loud, agressive, intense, bob was the exact opposite, i watched bob ross my entire life and i don't paint, most everyone around my age knows of bob ross and they don't paint..his popularity had almost nothing to do with painting...bob was a master of helping people with their stress and anxiety.
@@westoftherockiesOf course it was about painting. Painting and promoting his products first and foremost. The anxiety/ASMR thing and Bob's huge popularity nowadays is only a recent phenomenon since the rise of the Internet and UA-cam.
Thank you Bill, from this world to the next, your experience, shared so generously and beautifully with such enthusiasm is/was like sunlight on a cold day, warming and making me thank life for the good people that exist and existed among us. Thank you very much, surely you are now painting the stars from closeup,:-D.
@@AAlexanderArt thanks so much! I'm currently working on an art project and wanted to include some of Bill's work, but it was a little hard to find information!
Been watching Bill’s shows for decades. It is too bad these videos are not processed to bring then up to 4K resolution not sure how this would work as these shows predate even 1080P.
I don’t know what kind of sorcery this is but if I try this method I have to wait for it to dry after each layer, those trees would end up black because I’d add the green but it would not be independent or pop like in this video it just looks like mush due to the paint being so wet
I thought Bob Ross was good till I seen Bill wow why do people take the whizz outta this style of painting I think it looks great considering it took 30 mins Could Monet or Turner make the same picturesque painting look better in 10/20 hours ? I doubt it Bill has captured everything
I really love Bob Ross, and nothing will change that... but the more I see of Bill Alexander, the more I think that Bob was a total copycat, which of course is understandable being his student. But not only did he copy the style of painting, but also the format of a TV series and everything else. I heard about Bill Alexander before, but I actually didn't know the circumstances. This guy actually invented the wet-on-wet technique.
Yes. It's unfortunate Bob Ross got the credit for wet on wet and magic white, which Bill was responsible for. Often, the wrong people get the credit, so is life.
He was the Master and the reason I've painted for 50 years.
Bill is painting heavenly scenes now.
Absolutely stunning! I like to think that Bob Ross was simply a great student and admired the way bill painted, just like we do.

The "I love you" at the end. 🥹❤️
Miss you Bill
I really am more appreciative of Bill than I am to Bob. Love Bob, love painting with Bob. But Bill is so special.
Incredible artist and teacher. The world desperately needs more people like Bill. A Lovely human being. Thank you so much!
@@thomasmaddox5638 thank you for your comment and thank you for being here. We agree with you 100%.
I am in awe of his incredible talent and the ability to explain how to arrive at such amazing reality with a minimal application of tools and colors.

Master Creator of the wet on wet technique

This has to be one of the best depictions of light that Bill has ever done. The warm highlights on cool colours makes the mountain seem to glow.
There is so much to learn in this particular painting for an artist. Thank you Bill !
Yet another masterpiece. Those mountains in the background LOOK like they're in the background.

Thanks for posting this one. It's a real beauty.
I love seeing landscapes like this created from zero! every brushstroke an extra touch towards the magnificent result of the final painting 💜
His positivity is uplifting. 👍
You have to admire this man. He was amazing.
Bill's painting exudes such majesty, it's even bigger than life! Thumbs up, for sure !!
what a fantastic eye and imagination, and balance--and his color technique is outstanding

Bill u the man ,Mann u are an absolute master artist 😍u capture life with that brush👏i love you!!
Bob Ross had a great talent but we must give credit where it's due... Bill Alexander started a new wave of art education.

Hello What are the colors you are using now?
Great
what brush are you using. from the hardware store?
He is using a Bristle Brush. Not the same as what you can find in the hardware store now. Bill’s brush is made from boar bristle.
@@AAlexanderArt thank you! purchased from an art store?
MERCI+++!
👍
Can I use acrylic paint?
Ecxelente pintura.

Bill lived in Canada around the mountains and this episode was filmed in the Pacific Northwest.

Pourrais t'on faire la meme chose a l,acrylique?
The original Happy Painter, i always enjoyed him and miss him! His copycat student was never his equal and always needed a haircut!!!!
It's a strange thing to see Bill work with a different palette - Bob almost never makes oranges or pinks.
Yup! His art is a bit more colorful then Ross's was. Been watching Bob's then came across his teacher. Wow! More color!
@@davidlang4442 I also saw a Bill Alexander seascape with a white canvas, not a black canvas, which was a different approach.

Good Morning Bill :) I'll fire in! later. My husband has a cold, so you know... he's like.. dying. *rolls eyes*
Does that mean guys are supposed to pretend they don't feel like crap when they're sick?

Lol! Nothing like a Man Cold.
Does Bill like turtles?
Don’t know if he did.
Out here down Painting?

Here from a Patton Oswalt special

Sounds like he uses bob ross ' gimmick...why ?
Bill Alexander was actually the artist who first taught Bob Ross to paint and where Bob learned many of his techniques and some of his sayings!
