That was an excellent explanation to a dyno tune!

    I hope this isn't a stupid Q. ....
If a 200+ lb. guy is sitting on the dyno while the motorcycle is doing a run on it, does the weight of the rider make a difference?

if you aren't going to upgrade passed a stage 1 and have a Dyno tune. Do you still need a tuner?

I just had a stage 2 torque cam kit installed on my 21 ultra limited using the screaming tuner. Would having the bike dyno tuned using screaming eagle tuner make a difference. Also would using a power vision tuner void my warranty?

I noticed you were using the SE Race Tuner (SERT) on the right screen. What were the reasons for using both the Power Vision and SERT during the dyno runs? What gear typically is selected during the dyno run? Thank you.

Very educational. Shame they don't answer anyones questions here. Too time consuming I suppose.

So a screaming eagle tuner won’t work with a aftermarket head pipe?

When you say the bike can get flagged for using a 3rd party tuner does that just affect the factory warranty or does it also affect the extended warranty?

Check out Kevin Baxter’s explanation on Dyna tuning and third party tuners for an accurate discussion of the positive and negatives of each.

Don't be fooled, screaming chicken tuner will only allow you to adjust your VE tables so they are correct. It will not allow you to change air fuel ratios past a small percentage. Meaning if it's set at 14.7 it won't let you go to far past that. The air fuel ratios are pretty much locked in place as EPA has been on Harleys ass about it. If you want full tunability get a power vision with autotune pro. FP3 now has an autotune with O2 sensors but most pro tuners profer power vision.

one thing the auto tune does not do is adjust timing automatically. it does AF only. You still need a someone who knows what they are doing to tune the bike.

What’s the difference between the powervision and a commander 5? Been trying to find some info on this. There’s so many different ways and people seem to not know what the tuners actually do. Thank you for any input and keep the silver side up!

This is nonsense. Injected motorcycle, has O2 narrow, has MAF and many more sensors to make 14.5 or 14.7 AFR on the fly in any given rpm using fuel trims short and long.
Bike knows always what you changed.
Especially when we ride in different conditions, high altitude, low.
