Had one of these for a few months now highly recommend for the price it's incredible. Would just add be careful with polarity when using non original power supply. It can also be powered by micro usb.
No, it does not require 1300mA - that's just what the included power supply gives, even if it's printed on the pedal. If you read the manual, you'll find that you can power it with any 9V DC power supply as long as it provides at least 265mA.
@@theguywhoisaustralian1465 I'm very surprised (and a bit disappointed) that they missed this fact in their "review". Quite an unprofessional mistake, imo.
NO! This is extremely misleading. If people don’t understand what the polarity symbols mean and they put “any” 9V power supply into the jack, they can fry this whole pedal and waste $300. I’ve seen it happen to so many pieces of equipment. Some people assume since there are so many different size jacks, that if it fits, it’s the right one. Fry it. Others are smart enough to see a voltage requirement. And then assume that’s all they need is to match the voltage. Fried.
@@MrTravisAlNo, it's not misleading - the labeling on the pedal is misleading. It clearly says "9V DC" and "Center negative polarity" (as a symbol) as well as "1300mA" - the two first are absolutely correct and definitely needed, but it's misleading to put "1300mA" after those two since it makes the reader believe that all three are necessary, which isn't the case.
Greetings, I love the channel, and while I just only stepped on this pedal for under 5mins... I am already in love. I have a solo project in which I need to mimic lead & rhythm guitar on my bass. This pedal just kicked open so many closed doors for what I can do with my "guitar" sound. At the moment I am getting cozy with this wHammy & my Lekato LoopStage 9, which is the craziest value in pedals EVER! Thank you again so much for all the great content. Oh yeah, I owe your channel squarely for introducing me to the DarkGlass A/O 900. It is my saving grace as a solo recording artist & bass player. Infinite love & gratitude from Colorado!
I bought one when these newer ones came out maybe like i dunno 10 years ago or so. Its literally been on every board ive ever put together ever since. Its good, you dont have to use it at all in the more traditional metal way of pitching up tom morello style. In fact, i think its best using the harmony side to fill in certain parts of songs that sound smaller live. Id use it in choruses for example with the octave up, sometimes octave down with a drive and a filter of sorts if it was more a synthy vibe, or I'd use the 5th a lot in parts that just needed to sound huge like bridges and stuff like that. Its just so goddam awesome and versatile. super fun to just mess around too
If you have the Whammy 5 or whammy DT no need for the dedicated Whammy bass I have both and there is zero difference in sound. If you have the Whammy DT you can also detune, which the Whammy Bass can not.
The manual actually says the power consumption is equal to or less than 265 mA. The 1300 mA written on the side refers to the power supply they include with it and not the actual power consumption. I've been running mine on the 250 mA output on my pedal power 2 for 2 years without issues although I don't recommend anyone else does it. Use 300 mA or higher or join two outputs together with a current doubling adaptor if you're going to do it yourself.
Nice video, but you should've tried out the midi jack It is extremely cool with a DAW. You can control the (virtual) treadle position. I used to use ableton to create arpeggiated loops.
Digital pedals often require much higher amperage at startup compared to during operation, so your 500mA might result in struggling to turn on reliably more than anything
Bass Face is my hero right beside James Jameson and Jaco. My Girl friend thinks he's well over 100 times more handsome than me! So please keep playing as she loves you too 😜
It's perfect - almost. The only thing I would add to it is volume control for selected interval. The interval is always 50/50 in volume with the basic note. For octave Up, it is too loud most of the time. Only one volume knob more for interval would be perfect, until then, I have another Octave pedal just next to my Whammy. What a waste of pedalboard real estate...
Well done! How did you manage that? 🙂 I've got a Whammy for my guitars (Bought it after listening to 'Killing in the name of'), but may have to make another purchase for my bass.... I know that they're really a one or two trick pony, but they are great fun.
We NEED a "Mr. Bass face" BTW t-shirt with Frank doing the stank face!!
Fuck yes

Yeah, I was getting worried for a second after I bought it. I saw the 1300 and almost cried because my power brick only has 300mA outputs

That bass face. Scared my cat out of the room. Beautiful.

Nice! I’ve had one for a couple years. It was great to see what you and Frank do with it.
Gregor + Franck > Jordan + Pippen
Some might call this a controversial statement.
Those people are wrong.
No matter what lines Frank Itt plays, if you like it or not, there always funky and groovy and not overplayed.

Much love to Mr frank bass face !! cheers
What distortion peddle were you using??
Frank‘s the man!
These short videos are dire Gregor !
Man oh man I would love one of those gizmos! 😄🎶🎸🎵
FRANK THE TANK
what an amazing review!
can i have that whammy, now you're done filming?!
That bass though ❤
Just look at Justin Chancellor from Tool. He regularly uses it in awesome ways!
Good shout-out 🤘
Perfect bass face with a pitch
That pedal screams Doug Wimbish to me. Yeah!!!
doesn't mono neon use this pedal?
Love frank man
40 seconds and I played the like button!

how good would you say yamaha basses are?
I love my whammy. I used it to create a melodic line with my old band Sloth Metropolis on the track ‘Band Together’ if you’d care to check it out!
If you combine this pedal with some distortion, and maybe delay, it's freaking amazing. Weeeoooohhhhh!
I love the video, and love Frank......but we're not going to talk about that He-Man Amp head in the background? Did I miss the video on that?
Rock it bass daddy ❤
What type of yamaha bass u guys use in this video
Amazing bass face thumbnail

Frank Itt, secret third member of the Nova Twins 🙂
What is that distorion he's using with the dive bomb? 😍
probably the Orange Bass Butler. It’s our go-to for high gain sounds
Great video thanks. DigiTech should integrate a distrotion in the pedal, it's already a piece of furniture anyways ..
Frank being awesome as always, and I don't mean just his face 🤘
1300ma is crazy. Doesn't the Helix Stomp use less than that?
What is the name of that yamaha bass?
That’s an old BBG5
I want Frank back please! ❤❤❤
We recorded 10 new videos with Frank last week. First comes out soon
